@EachandEveryone I hope today went okay 💐

Ilikeyoursleeves · 14/12/2024 08:22

It's another triple box! Full of hair things!! Olaplex bonding oil, Happy Endings nourishing balm and Amika overnight hydration treatment.

I'll try one of these this morning, I've been using that K18 hair mask since I got so so haven't been using conditioner which has felt weird. I'll see what these products do and give it a whirl!

Hope all went well @EachandEveryone and the lipstick brought you lots of pleasure as well as being at the end of your treatment!

MyStylish40s · 14/12/2024 08:53

Today’s is a lovely surprise. It’s definitely my favourite advent I’ve ever had.

WeAreBorg · 14/12/2024 09:28

Exciting to get three things although I’ve realised I’ve lost the molecular mask from the early days - hoping it’s not gone in the recycling by mistake

Ilikeyoursleeves · 14/12/2024 10:26

I just used a few drops of the Olaplex... no idea what it's meant to do 🤣 Can't see much difference!

I stopped buying hair products a long time ago. I think they’re very overrated. A good shampoo and conditioner is enough, IMO.
Still, a nice surprise in an advent.

I think you just run a tiny amount of it through the ends of towel dry hair. Is that what you did?

Ilikeyoursleeves · 14/12/2024 11:13

@MyStylish40s I put about 4 drops of oil through my hair, kind of just wiped my hands over all my hair. It's halfway between shoulders and boob length hair so thought I needed that amount. That was after shampoo and conditioner, then I blow dried it.

Looks and feels the same 🤣

JudgeBurrito · 14/12/2024 11:32

I've had Olaplex No 7 before (I think from the 2020 calendar!) and found it really good, but I had just bleached my hair and there was a section that was really damaged. It made a huge difference to that section, but honestly I think if your hair is in good condition it won't look much different. Good to know it can be used as a heat protector though, that's useful.

Thelifeofawife · 14/12/2024 13:32

Annoyingly, I had just washed my hair before opening my AC! I already used an extra conditioning treatment and a frizz control/shine spray (Wow dupe) so I’ll save these new ones for next time I wash my hair - I’ve never used any of them before so interested to see if there’s any benefit

SaidItFromMyCoffin · 14/12/2024 21:35

I used to use this Olaplex and almost have a full one but stopped in favour of other products. I’m not sure I’ll keep it. Not especially excited by the other two but will give them a go and see.

TheChosenTwo · 14/12/2024 22:30

I like the molecular bonding hair treatment from earlier in the calendar but nothing in todays box has excited me, I’ve never got on with olaplex anything so the oil has gone to dd2 and the other things to dd1, I have plenty of hair things which seem to do what I want them to so I didn’t have any need for the bits today. Still a good box but things like hair balm for the very ends take ages to use up and I’ve already got one that I never really use.

Apolloneuro · 15/12/2024 06:44

Yeah. The hair stuff from yesterday is probably my least favourite box. Need a wee, so gonna get up and open todays. Won’t post, obviously as before time limit.

MyStylish40s · 15/12/2024 08:35

Ah, I’d forgotten there was a Paula’s choice in it. Not very exciting, but I’ll give it a go.

Talisin · 15/12/2024 08:42

Never actually tried Paula’s Choice as I already had a preferred brand for bha. Will try this but it’s not a product I actually use much anymore so it should last me a looong time.

Ilikeyoursleeves · 15/12/2024 09:15

Not sure about todays?? The packaging and description didn't wow me, sounds quite strong on the skin or is that cos I'm just reading the words salicylic acid?? (I've no idea what that is or does)

I think it’s the word “acid” that frightens me too 🤭

Ilikeyoursleeves · 15/12/2024 09:23

@MyStylish40s yes I have visions of putting this on and then my skin falling off 🤣🙈

bigdecisionstomake · 15/12/2024 09:24

Salicylic acid is great for breakout prone skin as it clears and decongests. It's a product I associate with teen skin (both my boys used/use it although not this brand as they can't be bothered with cotton pads etc...) but not for my parched menopausal skin. One for Vinted for me.

WeAreBorg · 15/12/2024 09:49

Not for me either - a member of the parched menopausal skin club too. I also have the mostly perfectly clear skin of my life thanks to tret

sounds like I could pass on to the teens though?

bigdecisionstomake · 15/12/2024 09:54

@WeAreBorg It worked wonders for my eldest in particular, from about age 15/16 onwards. He uses a salicylic face wash followed by a salicylic moisturiser. The brand he uses is Clean and Clear which is much cheaper than Paula's Choice and doesn't need to be applied with a cotton pad. He's still using it at 26 but to be honest I don't think he really needs to anymore.

Thank you! I need to get him into a skin care routine so shall give this a try.
i also give him the more masculine smelling perfumes I get from various kits so he does very well out of my beauty addiction

EachandEveryone · 15/12/2024 15:51

Not for me. Skin too fragile and it’s not the first one we have had with that word acid in it is it?

when you sell on Vinted do you put new with tags on the listing?

JudgeBurrito · 15/12/2024 17:46

I'm not a huge fan of this, but actually that's because I don't find it strong enough. I prefer the AHAs (like the Kate Somerville product), so don't be scared to try it just because it says it's an acid.

Also - random usage alert - I like to use an acid on a pad under my arms after a night time shower rather than sleeping in deodorant. It stops me smelling overnight, so I might use this for that purpose.

@EachandEveryone yes I put BNWT when selling beauty products. It's a good size too, so hopefully you get a fair amount for it. I've only had the 30ml in previous calendars.

Did anyone get the Cult Beauty GWP? I was some Christmas shopping and hit the minimum spend, it arrived today. I'm actually really impressed!

Thelifeofawife · 15/12/2024 17:58

I gave the Paula’s choice to my DS to use when I first got the AC, but he was hesitant to use it due to needing to use an SPF afterwards, I think it scared him off

andrinaballerina · 15/12/2024 19:58

I tried the Exfolikate on my heels last night and can confirm it's brilliant! Bit worried about what it would do to my face though after seeing what it did to my feet.
I really like the Paula's Choice BHA, I think it's a useful product to have in the cupboard to tackle spots. Saying that I rarely use it; it's good for the odd spot but very drying. I would recommend using once or twice a week if you struggle with congestion in certain areas. I am still working through a bottle I got last year (I think) so have sold mine on.
