* Please avoid dropping hints or spoilers about future contents if you have opened the calendar in advance. * (Edited at request of the OP by MNHQ)

It is one sleep away! We’ve all been very patient, since Liberty London revealed their advent calendar in June this year.

Reveals from 7am GMT each morning please. This is to harmonise discussion/shift work/different time zones.

@nearly61 I loved the oil, I didn’t click that it was the same brand. Very excited to try it now.

Waffles21 · 22/12/2024 10:36

Thanks so much @nearly61 , really appreciate you letting me know! I did have a quick look on one of the calculators and think it was made in Oct 22 which would mean ok until next October, let’s see if La Mer agree!!
@Lookwhoseinsideagain oh no! Mine was branded, it’s the Wild source Natural melt balm, like others I’ve not heard of the brand before but it looks nice

Resetthegame · 22/12/2024 11:05

Oh I’ve never thought to check manufacturer dates. BA2 which a website reckons is October 22. I’m fine with that.
I would describe it as liquid minty Vaseline and will be using it as a balm rather than a gloss, if that helps anyone. It’s not sticky just balmy (for me) if that makes sense?

allmybooksarefromthelibrary · 22/12/2024 12:16

I've worn the Lisa Eldrige Liquid Lurex a couple of times now and I absolutely love it - I'm so pleased as I would never have bought it myself.

I've also tried the La Mer Lip Volumiser as well, and really like it. Not enough to actually buy it though!

GreatFinch · 22/12/2024 12:30

I've tried the little Paula's choice bottle - wasn't expecting much but my skin feels a lot smoother straight away and no irritation. Think will be a repeat purchase.

BlueberryBelle · 22/12/2024 15:56

Is there anyone who would like to swap their Ex Nihilo Fleur Narcotique perfume for my Liberty Ianthe Oud perfume?
I have sprayed it once only but it’s just too strong for me.

nearly61 · 22/12/2024 16:30

@Waffles21 I'm impressed with La Mer cs -they are quick to reply, if a little cagey re the actual date of manufacture. They've just replied again with this: Thank you for contacting La Mer.

I understand your concern is if your product is within the day to be safely used. With the batch code provided, you are within the time period to safely use the product.

Thanks again for taking the time to contact La Mer.
So I'm thinking the online batch checker was spot on and we have at least a year's grace on this. Good to know and even better after all the positive recommends on here. Looking forward to trying it!!

nearly61 · 22/12/2024 16:32

@BlueberryBelle sadly I love the Ex Nihilo one too but I'm really looking forward to a swaps thread starting. It would be great to be able to swap with other advents too as there were some fantastic things in the others -though I much prefer Liberty overall thank goodness!!

Waffles21 · 22/12/2024 17:12

@BlueberryBelle and @nearly61 me too, the Oud is not for me! Thanks for update @nearly61 !

BlueberryBelle · 22/12/2024 17:41

@BlueberryBelle and @nearly61 me too, the Oud is not for me! Thanks for update @nearly61 !

@nearly61 @Waffles21 Good to know. Thank you. Lots of posters on here liked the Oud but I really didn’t. The ex-Nihilo is a favourite in this AC. Last year’s perfume favourite was the Vilhelm Poets of Berlin.
I shall look out for the swapping thread.
Was uncertain whether to get the Liberty AC next year but it appears to be the best one (based on the threads I’ve seen so far).

Ahh…..I did not receive this today so when DH dropped the calendar before giving it to me, this was one of the items that probably got swapped to a different drawer. what I did get was lovely though and useful.

Chickydoo · 22/12/2024 18:35

I was another one, not sure if I should go for the Liberty or Space NK, however I am really happy with the quality and value of all the products in the Liberty.
I will 100% re-purchase Ex Nilho
Also loving the Votary re-surface peel/Mask. I've used a few times & it seems to have a brightening effect.
Also love the eye shadow & blusher.
Actually love most of the items to be honest.
Can't wait for next year!

Pollydollydoodle · 22/12/2024 22:13

Can anyone tell me if you can use today's cleansing balm to remove makeup? Or better to use on "clean" skin?

Ohdear7 · 23/12/2024 07:53

I’ve really liked other scents from this brand but this is far too woody for me. Might be one for Vinted

Peridot1 · 23/12/2024 07:58

@Pollydollydoodle - I would use to take off make up. Balms tend to be great at dissolving makeup.

Peridot1 · 23/12/2024 07:59

I quite like today’s perfume I think. Got some on my finger trying to figure out how to open it and I keep sniffing it. A nice one for winter I think.

Un4732 · 23/12/2024 08:04

I'd wish they'd put a couple more crowd pleasing scents in. I'm getting mango and rubber from this one! They've all been quite unusual. Have come round to the oud and Ex Nihilo one one just. This one is bizarre.

nearly61 · 23/12/2024 08:20

I love this one! I'm getting sweet warm scents from it. Funny how differently things smell to all of us.
@Pollydollydoodle the balm is brilliant - it has been a surprise winner for me as I love Elemis balm, which is heavier and didn't expect to find anything I might prefer but this seems to leave my skin softer after use without any stripping (not that Elemis strips but other balms can do). Anyway, hope you enjoy it too.

Chickydoo · 23/12/2024 08:28

Due to a draw mix up earlier in the month, I got the candle today. I don't really like the Vilhelm perfume, just too strong.

Waffles21 · 23/12/2024 08:36

I loved the smell of this in the bottle, have put it on and jury is out! It’s very warm, quite heavy but I def prefer it to the Liberty Oud we had earlier, that was far stronger! It reminds me of Middle Eastern bazaars. I do agree that all the perfumes have been quite unusual! I like the ex Nilho and possibly this but neither of the others. Gutted no le labo, know the rose roller was in last years and a friend had the matcha tea in a previous years. My favourite brand of perfume!

secretbumworms · 23/12/2024 09:19

It might just be because I'm used to much cheaper perfumes, but all the scents seem quite complicated and I can't decide whether I like them or not. I'd have liked an easily wearable scent

goingslightlyinsane · 23/12/2024 09:26

I love this perfume, I really love this brand. Unfortunately the squirt bit is stuck in the lid so I can't use it!
I don't think I have any old ones knocking around either I think I have used them and chucked them! Confused

BakeOffRewatch · 23/12/2024 09:45

Day 23! Christmas Eve Eve.

Vilhelm Parfumerie Faces of Francis Eau de Parfum 10ml TRAVEL SIZE
Value £39.67 (£119 for 3 10ml vials) / £44 (£88 for 20ml) / £29 (£145 for 50ml) / £22 (£220 for 100ml)

The fragrantica reviews are interesting - a bit too numerous and poetic? It does smell synthetic and like soap and then like petrol. Smells really nice after a few hours. The pistachio is there on spray but I can’t smell it later. I’ve received stuff from this brand in the beauty drops in smaller vials, I’m delighted to receive a swirly whirly bottle. Yes the lid is really hard to take off! When people have had them in beauty kits they’ve used pliers or Liberty customer service replaced.

I'm delighted, love this brand, never had a perfume I don't like from them.
