I want to smell amazing

I'm off to a work conference soon - can anyone recommend me a perfume that will be strong and will make people think "ooh she smells amazing" I hardly ever get that comment. I want to make an impression and my work crush is going to be there

I think it’s quite anti social to wear strong smelling perfumes. Some of us are quite sensitive to certain scents; for me that can trigger coughing and eyes watering. We should have the choice not to have to deal with this in the work place.
In any case, surely scents are supposed to be worn subtly, so that only those who are very close can smell them. It’s like make-up, discreet use is always more flattering.

Zara Fashionably London is amazing and good value.

Agree with this - but it is very strong so you don’t need a lot.

Molecule 01 - it's not strong enough to knock anyone out but I get more compliments about that than just about any perfume I've ever worn for work.

Because it is gorgeous! It's unisex and I bought some for DS as his first ever grown up scent when he was in his late teens, then wished I'd got some for me.

Miss Dior and Hugo Boss Woman (the one in the chunky glass bottle).

Lush’s Lord of Misrule is heady.
or Jean Paul Gaultier Classique - the one in a “corset” bottle.
Tom Ford’s Vanilla Sex is another strong ‘un.

I really like Miss Dior and Versace Dylan purple (although I feel like they fade quickly) but hoping that’s just because I become nose blind

I am finding recently that Opium is not as strong or long lasting as in the 1980/90s/00s

I think a lot of companies have altered their formulations🙄

Agree, I never wore Opium as although I loved the smell it didn’t suit who I was then, I was too young. I kept an old empty bottle belonging to a friend, and put it in a drawer. Decades later it still had the distinctive smell. When I had a sniff of the current incarnation a year or so back it was a shadow of its former self. Same with Mitsouko, Chanel no 19 , all the old greats are duller now.

In your opinion. I will wear whatever perfume I like thank you very much.

oo-er!

Strong perfumes are really anti social especially in close quarters like commuter trains when you can’t really move away. The last time I smelled someone amazing was on the train though and I did ask her what she was wearing and it was Santal 33 (which sadly did not smell as nice on me.) The lady in front of me at Wimbledon tennis was wearing Wood Sage & Sea Salt from Jo Malone and I did like the dupe from Noted Aromas but it was not that strong thankfully. I thought I was going to like Bitter Peach by Tom Ford but that was overwhelming and sweet… it was like I’d doused myself in a bottle of 90’s Taboo.
