Thanks for the idea @Stravaig - I have enjoyed doing it, (and have added to my huge wish list!)

I am now adding that orange/black coat and the blue jumper as fantasy extras😹

ScottishMouse · 17/11/2024 20:30

Ooh, I like this game @stravaig, but I am so indecisive that it would take me until new year to choose 5 pieces from the whole collection!

ScottishMouse · 17/11/2024 20:31

Also, can we assume that in this fantasy land, we would also look amazing in the pieces we choose (even if in real life they might not flatter our shape/colouring, might not fit around our boobs/hips/waist etc)?

IlovePond · 17/11/2024 20:37

I think so @ScottishMouse - in reality that grey coat would be floor length on me at 5’4”😹

IlovePond · 17/11/2024 20:38

In that case. I’m adding the Selma - IRL the ‘right’ size for me everywhere else in that is too tight across the bust😹 But it’s soooo lovely!

Stravaig · 17/11/2024 20:39

I think it's a bend the rules and warp reality kind of game!

I'm going to have do it in multiple stages. First, 5 each of winter warmers, shiny pretties, and homewares. Then the real swithering will start!

Plus, I'm sure I'll end up with alternates, and bundles, and 'this, but only if that were changed' choices.

No rush, just something to amuse us before and after any sale, and see in the next collection :)

ScottishMouse · 17/11/2024 20:41

Ah yes @IlovePond the Selma didn’t work for me either sadly, it is indeed lovely.

ScottishMouse · 17/11/2024 20:43

Has anyone tried the Graph Check cotton cashmere dress? Not for my ultimate wishlist (not special enough), but wondering how dropped the waist is and what it looks like on someone short with boobs and a belly - so hard to tell when the model online is the complete opposite of this.

IlovePond · 17/11/2024 20:54

@ScottishMouse - I tried it and it swamped me, even in the new sizing. Felt nice, though.

ScottishMouse · 17/11/2024 20:56

I love the cotton cashmere fabrics @IlovePond. Cosy but light too.

Stravaig · 17/11/2024 21:08

Homewares are easiest:

Quilted velvet throw in dark olive.
Hand forged barbecue tools.
Veta Vera basket.
Hand marbled planner.
Bundle of hammered metal decorations :)
Ramen bowl.
Butter dish.

See, 5 🤣

(No links = out of stock. Can only upload 5 images, that'll help keep us in check :)

This is going to be difficult!

Oh @Stravaig thank you for this encouragement. I had a bad day and it’s just been cheered by attempting to curate a wish list but ended in a purchase of the new oil burner, “de-stress” and some beeswax candles. Hoping that’ll give me a midweek perk up. And it made me smile just now 💛

Stravaig · 18/11/2024 06:38

@MiracleToast Lots of Toasty warmth and loveliness to you x

Stravaig · 18/11/2024 08:00

❄️ Woken early early by the cold -4° 🥶

Warm things wishlist (without much any restraint :)

Boiled wool trousers.
Graphic yoke sweater navy/green (but, short wide hem to funnel cold air, grrr)
Wool cotton herringbone trousers.
Donegal cardi in russet - except it's a 6 button cardi with only 4 buttons.
Emerald cashmere sweater - IF raglan sleeves instead of dropped shoulders.
Sturlini tall boots in green.
Hestra Tina mittens in plum.
Bosabo felt slippers in indigo (actually for summer!)
Brushed cotton linen trousers, sound like they feel soft & cosy.
All the wool lyocell tees?

Plus, a special mention for the Diamond Jaquard Wool Scarf, still on my list from last year, which I hope will miraculously reappear, quarter-price, on a page only I can see :D

That is a glorious scarf @Stravaig . Saw it in the flesh. The colours are beautiful.
It might take me a while to put a list together.
But at the moment am coveting these after seeing someone in them, bare footed despite Saturday being very chill here, they were already on my radar but they just looked so comfortable .

@Countmeout I'm pretty good at letting things go, but that scarf is a rare genuine regret, that I didn't make it happen. It's a good reference point for genuinely special as opposed to passing fancy though!

Those mules have that special something, don't they? The footbed looks exceptionally well-designed. So inviting.

I'm enjoying making pre-lists, but for final choices I suspect I'll swither in the new year (in good company @ScottishMouse :)

Arguably, it's a good tool for decision making, or do I mean enabling?, although realistically I won't be getting any of my choices. I love revisiting the collection through everyone else's eyes too, enjoying all your favourites 😍.

IlovePond · 18/11/2024 13:53

Great list @Stravaig ! Have you tried ringing up KC and asking if they have it?

It’s a long shot, but things turn up there years later. (For example, the blue jacquard jumper- my first ever Toast purchase so it’s dear to my heart - is a regular visitor to the shelves of KC, despite being originally on sale in the JL days!)

Hope things are better today @MiracleToast x

mizu · 18/11/2024 13:57

@Countmeout yes those shoes are on a fav list of mine. Gorgeous!

As for a wish list, that may take a while!

Stravaig · 18/11/2024 14:36

@IlovePond That's a good idea! In all these years, I've never thought to ring to try and track something down.

IlovePond · 18/11/2024 15:08

🤞@Stravaig - if you know the code, it would also be worth phoning Toast CS, (whereas the staff at KC can just have a rummage!)

SaffyRosie · 19/11/2024 09:17

Regarding the corduroy items.
In the past when I have bought cord clothes I found they have pick up fluff and lint very easily. You either spend a fair bit of time using one of those de-linting rollers or look rather scruffy

I have cats as well.

So can anybody (who has cats) advise if the Toast cord picks up cat hair, fluff and lint?

Thank you

I'm usually perpetually attracting lint and dog hair and I've actually not noticed Toast cords doing that. Have had old season barrel leg cords and new season cord Gabbis and both have been fine.

I'm short with boobs and a belly I love this dress ! My friend said it looked better on me than the model !

ScottishMouse · 19/11/2024 16:52

I literally just bought it on my way home from work half an hour ago @triggers34! I sort of can’t tell if the dropped waist is all that flattering, but it is so cosy and comfy and will go with all my knitwear that I don’t care. Happy to have a warmer dress that I can wear at this time of year, as I only own two other dresses and they are very much for warmer weather.

OftenOrange · 19/11/2024 18:30

@SaffyRosie No problem at all with mine, I’ve old navy cords from Toast as well as this season in an olivey colour.
I know how some clothes attract cat hair like a magnet but I’ve never found cord to be a problem.
And …current season longer length Annie are so lovely and cosy to wear !
