Enjoying everyone's sale reports 😍

Me too- I love reading what other people have bought, but I wonder if it encourages me to reach for the credit card more!

Stravaig · 22/12/2024 18:59

@Poplinskirt @IlovePond It really is astonishing that Toast manage to create so much angst in all directions, when sale periods and reward schemes are usually uncomplicated and helpful when shopping elsewhere.

IlovePond · 22/12/2024 19:00

I’ve been back for another look, but nothing for me. Am a bit disappointed, especially as I found the summer sale pretty underwhelming.

Oh well, I am enjoying hearing about what others are buying and maybe there’ll be a few additions in the days to come!

CoubousAndTourmalet · 22/12/2024 19:11

Does anyone know when non-kindred will be allowed sale access please? Is it likely to be tomorrow? I'm just pondering whether there is any point staying awake beyond midnight...🤔

oddandelsewhere · 22/12/2024 19:16

Thank you so much @IlovePond and@AmethystMoonShine I've been so touched over the last few days by the kindness of strangers, particularly the ones who gave the blood I needed 4 days ago. The two young Elsewhwheres, large and healthy after too many days spent on hockey pitches etc, have been instructed to return the favour for someone else after Christmas!

Watchingyouwatchingme · 22/12/2024 17:30

So frustrated. Despite numerous purchases this year and my post pass, I am still not considered worthy of ‘Kindred’ status.

I got really cross about it a year or so ago and emailed asking for them to clarify the criteria- their response was pretty vague but I then was made a Kindred member a couple of days later, definitely worth contacting them!

IlovePond · 22/12/2024 19:59

@CoubousAndTourmalet - it might be Boxing Day, as someone on here was told that was when the sale was starting.

Tbh, obsessed as I am with Toast bargains, unless they start adding stuff, this sale offering is a bit disappointing for me and I wouldn’t stay up late for it. The roll out to everyone will probably take place during the UK working day, (assuming that’s where you are). Having said that, in previous years, Toast have restocked at 3-4am, so who knows?

If you know the products you are interested in, we could have a look for you and let you know if they are on sale.

faustina · 22/12/2024 20:00

@CoubousAndTourmalet - I think you can safely go to bed tonight. Kindred pre-sale is usually at least 24 hours

Stoic123 · 22/12/2024 20:02

@Watchingyouwatchingme - the only thing to add to @IlovePond's note re Kindred is that that Toast reviews Kindred membership at set times of year (usually in January but sometime mid year).

I went on a frenzied Toast buying spree during 2021 using money built up during Covid (travelling and socialising being my normal high spend categories)- bought a whole new extensive wardrobe and loads of home stuff. Nearly weekly orders - total madness. I was invited to join Kindred in the Jan. I've bought steadily since but planning a low buy 2025 (to appreciate what I already own and declutter) so it will be interesting to see if I retain it in 2026.

IlovePond · 22/12/2024 20:05

Yes @Stoic123 - I am a summer renewal myself.

CoubousAndTourmalet · 22/12/2024 20:11

Thank you @faustina and @IlovePond
Boxing day? Gosh, that seems quite a long wait!
It's mainly dresses that I have my eye on; actually 5 or 6 different ones, but possibly it's better not to know in case they sell out in the meantime...😬

IlovePond · 22/12/2024 20:14

@CoubousAndTourmalet - don’t worry - things come back in stock due to returns.

Primrosespaw · 22/12/2024 21:00

Hi all,
i am enjoying reading about your sale purchases and wish lists. I have broken my rule this season and bought quite a few non sale items, mostly cord and wool stuff. Therefore I have tried to be restrained today and have gone for the velvet obsidian dress, hoping it fits and not to tight across the chest, a striped top and the mens blackhorse road denim jacket, which is a total gamble as can’t figure out sizing. Fingers crossed as have heard great things about BHR and taught in walthamstow for years, which is where the factory is located. Happy sale shopping!

VivienneDelacroix · 22/12/2024 21:34

IlovePond · 22/12/2024 18:43

@VivienneDelacroix - unfortunately you have to be invited to Kindred and no one outside Toast really seems to understand the rationale behind it, except I think you have to be a UK customer and spend quite a lot/order frequently.

Despite this, I only got made Kindred 18 months ago and that was less than a week after I had finally forked out for a Toast pass. (I then spent the rest of the year grumpy about the chirpy emails inviting me to enjoy my ‘free’ postage 😾)

Some people get invited quite quickly and then get kept on, even if they don’t spend much in following years. Others don’t seem to get invited at all, or get bumped after a year of not spending much.

It’s a great scheme, but I do feel sorry for people who spend lots, but haven’t been invited.

Thank you for the explanation. I think they should be really clear on their website and list the criteria for Kindred. I don't make monthly purchases but I have a post pass and buy about 5-6 times a year. I think I made my first Toast order in 2005-ish, you'd think a 20-year loyalty would be enough.

Thank you again, I'm glad I'm not missing something that explains the Kindred process somewhere.

IlovePond · 22/12/2024 22:15

@VivienneDelacroix - I think you should definitely be Kindred. You could always call CS to ask, (as another person mentioned doing thread). I suspect you have just slipped through the net.

oddandelsewhere · 22/12/2024 23:54

@AmethystMoonShine I think it was you who said that Toast trousers aren't a good fit for you any more? Have you tried Oska trousers? I used to buy everything there and although it's infuriating that they use a lot of synthetic fabric now they still make beautiful denim and cord trousers. I buy dresses from Toast, but always trousers from Oska. They are a bit more expensive than Toast, but beautifully made, fit perfectly and last forever.
The only downside is there is never much of a sale, because most things sell out very quickly.
I should have said, the trousers all have an elasticated section in the back waist. Bliss, but not baggy and lumpy.

AmethystMoonShine · 23/12/2024 00:09

@oddandelsewhere I haven’t but thank you for the suggestion. I shall take a look. I’m a pear shape with a peri menopausal stomach that isn’t so small and flat as it once was!

mizu · 23/12/2024 07:47

'Early access' to the sale at 7 am this morning!

oddandelsewhere · 23/12/2024 08:10

@AmethystMoonShine re shape, I could have written that myself.

Brackenfield · 23/12/2024 08:56

Thankfully/unfortunately there's nothing I absolutely love or need. Was hoping for some summer stuff for my holiday but I also need to save money so 😅

Bailiwitch · 23/12/2024 08:58

Thankfully nothing I want …

Netcam · 23/12/2024 09:16

Been through the whole sale, only thing that appeals are the panelled organic indigo denim trousers. Looking at the sizing and 8 should fit, just wondering if they might drown my petite frame as a lot of trousers do.

Also just got some indigo denim wide legged trousers from Baukjen (see photo) which I like and am going to keep. So I really don't need any more!

I'm just enjoying trying different styles and anything else I want to try needs to be bought now as I'm having a no buy year in 2025!

mizu · 23/12/2024 10:07

Not much in the sale for me either. Xmas paper chains either all gone or just not in it and no sign of this dress.

Toasties - the countdown to Christmas
Stoic123 · 23/12/2024 10:18

@mizu - I reckon the few reamining garlands and the paper chain kit will be added to sale later on. The 3 that were in stock before the sale still are- so not sold out.

Snowyowl78 · 23/12/2024 10:21

@mizu isn’t that a jumpsuit? Or have they made a dress version?
