I have noticed in the past that before the sale starts, if you type sale into the search box then the items that come up then are the ones that go into the sale. As if they are loading them up but not changing the prices yet. You can sometimes tell because they are older items. But I just did that and it’s a bit random - some homeware & sock that could well be in the sale, but also knitwear that I wouldn’t expect to be. So maybe not that close yet.

IlovePond · 19/12/2024 18:13

Glad you didn’t do yourself too much damage @ScottishMouse !

ScottishMouse · 19/12/2024 18:16

I’m totally fine thanks @IlovePond. A small egg on my head, but otherwise grand.

Netcam · 19/12/2024 18:28

@IlovePond exciting news about the sale, not that I need any more clothes. AT ALL. I'm going for a no buy year next year following this year's excess with the new job and weight loss.

Decided my final purchase of the year, if it's in the sale and I can get one, is the Verbena Kaia cardigan and I'll order a small and medium to try.

If not, I will leave the Christmas jumper as my final purchase of the year.

faustina · 19/12/2024 19:43

The earrings are as brilliant as I imagined they'd be! I have my eye on a couple of things - certainly no more knitwear though! I've bought way more jumpers than necessary recently - one I haven't even got round to wearing yet, but it's a gem and was a Vinted bargain so I had to buy it:

Very sensible @Netcam i shall also try to be frugal! There’s a couple of pjs I have my eye on and I always have room for some Xmas stuff!

Thanks @faustina - they went down well at work today! They are a bit too heavy for every day, though, so back to Santa tomorrow😹

mizu · 19/12/2024 21:57

@faustina jumper 😍

BettinaInDenmark · 20/12/2024 08:18

I hope Toast will send me an email too, when the sale starts.
As only people in the UK can be kindred members, I am usually left out, when the sale message is sent out ... ;(

Snowyowl78 · 20/12/2024 08:47

Last year an email went out at 7pm on the 22nd but I put a sneaky order in at 15.39. 2 dresses, never worn!

Stoic123 · 20/12/2024 10:42

@Snowyowl78 - 😂. I too have a dress from last year's sale that I've never worn and am planning to list on eBay. I need to stop buying for my fantasy life of constant tea parties on sunny lawns.

Snowyowl78 · 20/12/2024 10:48

@Stoic123 i have a lot of dresses from toast with labels in. I still like them, I just admire them from the wardrobe.
although I have that embroidered slate dress than I had never worn and I’ve worn it recently and loved it

Stoic123 · 20/12/2024 10:53

@Snowyowl78 - the slate kaftan one with embroidery on the collar? If so, I have it and it is one I do wear (and always really like it when I do - surprisingly elegant).

Snowyowl78 · 20/12/2024 10:55

@Stoic123 thats the one! It’s lovely and flattering and comfortable. A lady in a restaurant complimented me on it and I was very pleased. Hve you washed it? I am slightly worried about the embroidery

Stoic123 · 20/12/2024 11:39

@Snowyowl78 - I've washed in a wool wash (with delicates detergent) inside out. Line dried. Seems ok.

Stoic123 · 20/12/2024 11:46

Sorry - that was ambiguous @Snowyowl78 - looks absolutely fine.

Snowyowl78 · 20/12/2024 11:55

Thanks @Stoic123 !

IlovePond · 20/12/2024 12:15

A very self-congratulatory email from Toast has just landed in my inbox.

Re: Reworn. I am struggling to believe that over 1000 people have given their clothes to Toast to sell for their own benefit. with only a small amount going to charity. (If it was all going to charity, then I would understand.)

I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of Reworn is coming from photoshoots, instead of going to the outlet as it used to. (The move to only occasional sample sales at KC, rather than having permanent sample rails, coincided with the launch of Reworn.) It would also explain why a lot of stuff on Reworn seems new.

If that’s the case, I wouldn’t mind too much, as not everyone can get to KC, but I would like to know.

Meanwhile, where’s the sale? My antennae are twitching!

Nanasueathome · 20/12/2024 12:27

I just checked
I placed my first Christmas sale order on 22nd December last year, so sale is imminent .
I think Kindred get first dibs then it’s opened up to everyone a few days later

mizu · 20/12/2024 12:28

Got that email, swooped into the Reworn and bought a king sized fitted sheet - which I do actually need - for £27.

Was super sensible as also wanted the duvet cover and a ticking stripe duvet cover as well but DO NOT NEED. I will not be taking another look in a bit........

Snowyowl78 · 20/12/2024 17:41

I’ve got a bag ready for the sale. Just 4 things!

IlovePond · 20/12/2024 17:43

Good idea @Snowyowl78 - it may be time to trim down the 350 things currently on my wish list🙀

Snowyowl78 · 20/12/2024 17:51

@IlovePond im trying to be disciplined :) although one of them is a spare for my favourite jumpsuit.

ScottishMouse · 20/12/2024 19:43

Not today then. I reckon it will be after the weekend now.

IlovePond · 20/12/2024 20:08

Wishlist and site are definitely glitchy. Given there are still four instore shopping days to Xmas, it wouldn’t surprise me if the sale is 23/12 in the evening or even Xmas Eve or Boxing Day. But who knows???

It’s fun guessing though 😹
