Ysl mascara black

benefit brow pencil in the darkest shade.

Experiment627 · 09/10/2025 07:45

I have two empties to report:

  • elf Holy Hydration lip mask: this is their dupe of Laneige. It was ok but I prefer Laneige.
  • Simple hydrating light moisturiser: absolutely love this stuff! Full of glycerin which my skin loves. Has Niacinamide but only 1% so get benefit but not irritation.

Elizabeth Arden body cream - bought it because I loved the scent of the body wash, but this smells different. Not to my liking.

Clinique take the day off - lasts ages. Unfortunately I think it doesn’t really agree with my skin and causes break outs. Even if I double cleanse. Removes makeup ok, but I prefer regular face washes.

Dermalogica daily microfoliant - second tub and I still don’t like the mixing method. Also, a bit harsh on skin, I feel.

Ful colour care shampoo- didn’t like it. Irritated my scalp slightly. Very thick and feels drying.

Rituals hand cream - good hand cream but I’m not that keen on the scent. It does stay on hands for a while, so probably best for very dry hands.

Augustine’s Barber body wash and cream - tiny samples. What’s the point?!😁

Paul and Joe liquid concealer- really nice, very similar to YSL but a bit lighter coverage.

Clarins toner used up but have refill.

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 10/10/2025 20:01

Nothing exciting but empties nonetheless:

Aveeno cream, staple

Rsdox sleep therapy bath salts. Really good. I love the smell of lavender and with ylang ylang is very floral. Would repurchase.

Lacura exfoliating face wash. Cheap and cheerful I love it too. A bit rough but I like the grittyness of it.

Dove deeply nourishing body wash. It’s ok. If I had to choose between this and the hydrating one I would choose the latter as the smell is better for me. Besides this one would sting my bits for some reason so I won’t be using it in the future.

On annual leave this week, so going to make an inventory of all the bits i have i think.

2 perfume empties + sample

Dior Ambre Nuit. Not my favourite. Partner seemed to like it, possibly more to his taste than mine.

Nuxe. Lovely summer scent, had for a few years. Used last up as room spray as had an off-ish smell coming through.

Few more empties to report
Vitaskin vitamin c serum- this was ok, not sure if it did much though.
Paula's choice essential glow moisturiser spf 30- I really liked this, I wasn't sure at first as it's a funny colour but it absorbed well, might rp this.
Neom super power shower body cleanser- not a rp for me. You had to use loads to get a bit of lather, it would definately unblock your sinuses though if you had a cold.
Ted Baker body shimmer souffle- this smelt amazing and really moisturised my skin, unfortunately it was a shimmer so there was sparkles everywhere, it might be night in the summer with a tan.
Rituals-ritual of karma hair and body mist- a no from me, didn't like the scent at all.
L'Occitane hand cream- I liked this, didn't think I would as I'm not a big fan of floral scents, have a few more in my stash.
Evolve organic beauty superfood 360 serum- this was ok, a bit sticky, have another in my stash.

76/100 not sure If I will meet my target by the end of the year as I would need to use 8 products each month for the next 3 months.

Some empties and a couple of products I'm giving up on.

Then I met you cleansing balm - nice, I like the texture of this. Not overly fond of the scent but it's fine. I've got another coming in an advent calendar which I will use.

Kate Somerville Goats Milk Cleanser - a favourite. Already have a few more of these to use.

Glow Recipe Avocado travel size cleanser - another favourite. Think I have one more of these to use.

d'Alba White Truffle mist - another staple. I like a mist straight after cleansing to rehydrate. Trying a different one next but I like the d''Alba one a lot.

Estee Lauder ANR mini - maybe not my favourite serum ever but I find I can't go wrong with ANR so will use them whenever I have one.

Irene Forte face cream - This was in a Liberty kit from the summer. I do like it but after a week or so using on my face I missed my usual night cream so finished up using it on my neck. I have to say it's the perfect consistency for a neck cream and was brilliant. However it's a very expensive cream to buy for the neck. Wouldn't mind getting more of this in beauty boxes.

Mediheal Madecassoside face mask - Been a bit rubbish at remembering to use my face masks recently. Although I have been using up some toner pads as DIY masking. Liked this one, it felt refreshing.

Dr Dennis Gross Peel Pads - @MrsBnow12 very kindly sent a few of these for me to try. I've got a few more to try but I think I do really like them so probably going to buy a pack at some point.

I don't like giving up on products for minor things but these 2 are not working for me so I'd rather use something I at least don't mind using.

Sunday Riley Aquamarine Melt - I love almost all SR products so this was a massive disappointment. I don't like the scent but the main problem is that the gel formula has separated despite not being open very long so instead of pumping as a gel I'm just getting oil with bits of gel. It still works as a cleanser and if I liked the scent I'd push through and finish it but I don't so I'm calling quits on this one.

Eqqualberry Bakuchiol Serum - The tiny dropper just doesn't work as a delivery system for such a thick serum. On top of that I don't really feel it does anything or serves a purpose in my routine. So calling it quits on this too as I've just not been using it.

Some more empties:

Inkey List oat cleansing balm - 50ml. Separates in the tube and doesn’t wash off cleanly so you definitely have to double cleanse. Does leave my skin feeling super soft though.

Clarins Comfort Scrub - 50ml. Liked this. Not as good as the Murad face exfoliator, but felt nice to use. Smelled good too (but not too over-fragranced).

Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Power Essence - 100ml. I’ve been through several bottles of this. Got the Mixsoon bean essence to try as an alternative next.

Purito Wonder Relief Centella Cream - 15ml. This was lovely, felt so soothing. I probably wouldn’t need to use it everyday, but it would be great to have stashed for irritated skin days.

Perfume samples / mini - Tocca Stella and Miller Harris Hydra Figue and Myrica Muse. All very nice, particularly liked Hydra Figue.

Pureology Color Fanatic leave-in spray - 200ml. This was really good, did a great job at detangling and smoothing my hair without weighing it down. Pricey though. Now trying the Lush Super Milk hair primer.

Future Primitive whipped soap sample, There’s a Storm Coming scent. Smelled amazing, apple and maple syrup scented.

Lush Coffee Morning shower jelly - 100g. DD steals most of the Lush shower jellies, but this one was Sticky Dates scented so I refused to hand it over. The shower jellies are fun but you do need to use a mesh soap bag to stop them jumping out of your hands.

Lush Sleepy body lotion - 50g. My bedtime hand cream.

Bath & Body Works Waikiki Beach Coconut body lotion - 236ml. Liked this scent, quite a a fresh coconut rather than full on gourmand.

I love that Goat Milk cleanser too, @OvaHere
I also get on well with the moisturiser. Gentle yet effective products.

ITookYourJoob · 14/10/2025 14:58

Bunch of Olaplex stuff finished:

Olaplex No3 - have used it with the nr0 and on its own. It does have an effect, but I’m a bit tired of it. I feel like there are better and better products coming out.

Olaplex no6 - fantastic smoothing cream. My second one and I might RP.

Olaplex no7 oil - probably my third or fourth one - extremely light, great for styling. I am now using Kerastase and Davines oil, so probably won’t rp any time soon. It is very good though.

Olaplex no9 - a bit useless. I don’t think it did anything and I was unsure when and how to use it properly.

Olaplex volume mist - works great, better than wow, but I’m just not that into hairstyling.

SDJ Delicia body lotion - very sweet but better than the spray.

Dr Dennis Gross daily peel - amazing! Makes quite a difference.

Erborian bb cream - very good if your shade matches. Quite pink for yellow undertones.

Benefit mask sample - very meh.

Fraaahnces · 15/10/2025 01:34

Empties:- Elizabeth Arden Green Tea & Fig fragrance. A flanker, obviously. I didn’t like it when I first tried it, but decided to use it up at work. The second time I used it, I noticed that I didn’t love the initial notes but after ten minutes it smelled fresh and clean and I actually loved it. Had lots of compliments. Not RP as was a cheap LE and haven’t seen it anywhere. I am enjoying the Green Tea and Pistachio blind buy that I purchased for $10 at the chemist and really thought I would dislike.

Sana Retinol Eye Cream. I didn’t love it on my eyes, but it was great for my neck which is weirdly sensitive. Of course that meant I powered through it. I will not RP but will go back to the BOJ retinol eye cream that I adore.

Two lip things. Peripera Ink Glasting Gloss in Way to Go. I have a couple of these. I love the formula (very like Victoria Beckham, I’m told.) but the applicator is messy - it’s a big doe foot and the neck of the tube is very tight. It controls the amount of product on the applicator very well, but the damn thing still leaks in my bag. Such a pity. The is is Romand Glasting (what is that word anyway?) Melting Balm in Beige Nu. Love, love, love. Thing, hydrating, comfortable. I have several of these. Great for work. Ole Henriksen Pout Preserve Lip Treatment in Citrus Sunshine. Gloopy, sticky and drying. I don’t get it. Has a slightly sandy feel thanks to the glitter as well. Just no.
Threw out all of my Kaja Beauty Bento eye shadows except for two very neutral ones. I just don’t wear them anymore.

@CorneliaStreet I adore that Lush sleepy cream - must get me some more! They have an amazing Neroli face mask too - which smells divine.
I really like the Pureology colour fanatic leave in conditioner too - a little goes a long way for me. The John Frieda daily miracle something something is quite similar and less pricey.

I have some empties:

  • Simple calming moisturiser: this has got hemp seed oil in it. Love this! Alas my fear is it is being discontinued.
  • Simple 10% ceramide boosters & omega complex: at first application it feels like you have put nothing on your skin but a few minutes later your skin feels very hydrated.

After raving about the Simple hydrating light moisturiser, I thought I would try the Simple replenishing rich moisturiser. Me no likey. I think the niacinamide is probably too high and it irritates my skin - so I will give this to a friend.

Oh dear I succumbed to the M&S advent calendar. Did look good though

MidnightMeltdown · 16/10/2025 01:01

A few unexciting empties:

  1. Natura Bisse Body Scrub - quite nice, but nothing special.

  2. Body Shop Mango Bath Blend - not bad, but I think I prefer floral scents in my bath

  3. Soap & Glory Vitamin C Face Wash - quite liked this for a morning cleanse. Left skin feeling fresh. Lasted ages in this size!

Total 57/110

Used up:- Frankenmoisturiser on body. Was actually quite good and smelled very fresh and herbal. Got very lucky there as mixed in many products.
Kundal Airy Volume Shampoo. Love it. Very basic, simple, hydrating shampoo with hyaluronic acid and low-dose AHA and BHA. Does a bit to increase volume and hair is soft and shiny. (With my hair that’s a big ask).
Rather antique HADA LABO shirojyun whitening lotion. Love this product but it had changed texture a bit and stung my face. I used up on décolleté until it stung that too, then binned.
&Honey Pixie Hair Oil. Lovely fragrance but a bit sticky and heavy for my hair. Used as a pre-wash and won’t RP.

Because I’m done with my hair oil, I just HAD to do the YESSTYLE order I have been procrastinating about. Will try a new hair oil, reordered HL Shirojyun, two highlighters for DD1 and some chameleon eyeshadow for me to try. (Going to Lady Gaga in Dec.) I have also ordered a couple of UV reactive eyeliners which I anticipate might be a total disaster.

@OvaHere Devastated to report that Numbuzin have reformulated their bloody sunscreen. I was stunned to discover that I was less enamored than I remembered. It was … nice, but not wowing me. Saw an influencer I like confirmed my suspicions. Poop. Next time will try House of Hur.

OvaHere · 17/10/2025 07:59

@Fraaahnces I did read that somewhere and was hoping it wasn't true. I do have another one which I assume will be the old formula. I wonder if many of them will do this and it's about being able to meet US spf requirements.

I've got quite into kbeauty this year but the reformulations is one of the things that does put me off. I know all brands reformulate from time to time and sometimes for the better, but the amount and frequency of kbeauty products that change is annoying.

Experiment627 · 17/10/2025 15:22

I have two empties to report:

  • Kingfisher fennel fluoride toothpaste: HG for me for donkey's years
  • Hydromol cream: was given as an alternate to Balneum Plus Cream - a bit looser in consistency. Prefer Balneum Plus.

@OvaHere - I wondered the same thing too about American tariffs.. Seems quite different.

paristotokyo · 17/10/2025 16:47

I’ve read that if an spf has been changed from pa ++++ on the packaging to ‘broad spectrum’ then that’s been reformulated to meet the US tariff regulations

OvaHere · 17/10/2025 17:08

That's what I suspected. Some brands started off doing a special US version but I can see why it's easier and more cost effective to just reformulate and have one product. It loses the thing everyone liked about them though.

wheresmyshoe · 18/10/2025 11:26

86/100

Redken - I love these type of products, really gives my fine flat hair some oomph with having to blow dry.
ouai body mist - lovely st Bart’s scent, smells like a pina colada in a nice way
eye patch - beauty pro eye therapy- one of the least effective I’ve tried but ok, have two more to use
elemis superfood day cream - loved this on my skin will repurchase next time I see it on sale

Sunday Riley - autocorrect eye cream. I didn’t think this made much difference until I ran out… I’ll rebuy

Manicurist cuticle oil - great product for me, I don’t love the smell but it is effective.

Lush Sleepy body lotion. I like this, i think the scent helps me relax. Its such a cosy and calming scent for me. Have another in stash.

Lush Creamy Candy body butter. Smells nothing like its supposed to. Ordered online so didnt get a chance to smell it, otherwise i wouldnt of bought it.

SR CEO Serum. I love the texture of this, more cream like than a runny serum. Sinks in nicely and gives a nice glow. This and the Summer Fridays Vit C are my favourite.

InnisFree SPF 30. I prefer a thinner SPF, its abit too thick for me. And i find myself feeling greasy as the day goes on.

Oriana PDM. Would buy a full bottle, i enjoyed the sample.
