More empties:

25 & 26) Elvive Colour Protect shampoo and conditioner - staples for me. Apparently they’ve recently changed the formula and it isn’t as good anymore. Fortunately I’m a beauty hoarder and probably have enough in the stash to last me at least another year.

  1. Olaplex No. 5 Conditioner - mixed feelings about this. It’s quite good at smoothing and reducing frizz, but it also tended to make my hair go greasy more quickly.

  2. Cerave hydrating cleanser - ok

  3. Bum bum cream - still have stacks of these in the stash!

  4. Verb Sea Spray - I quite like a salt spray, but this is a bit sticky. Not my favourite.

Total for the year 30/110 - still a long way to go!!

I've finished a Wander Flower jasmine hand cream which I got from a local gift shop some time ago. Its really thick and hydrating and I love the scent. I don't think they stock it anymore though!

Experiment627 · 22/07/2025 08:32

@MidnightMeltdown sorry the Tresemme did not work for you! Have you tried the Head & Shoulders one? Or the Aveeno one?

My bathroom was overrun by stuff so I have actually moved a hair mask, shampoo & conditioner, and two shower gels back to the stash. Feels to much better already!

I have two empties to report:

  • Dove beauty cream bar: still love this after all these years.
  • Wild natural deodorant refill cherry blossom: not my favourite scent of theirs I have tried but still did the job.

I have some more empties to report:

  • Burts Bees hand cream with shea butter - watermelon & mint: not fan of the texture or the smell
  • elf Holy Hydration - I got the mini kit and so far have finished: face cream, booster serum and the make up melting cream. I am not a fan of the smell (smells like Creme de la mer) and was not wowed by results

Waitrose essential shower gel - nice and cheap.

Philip Kingsley mask - water resistant, didn’t realise that. Had to shampoo it out. Maybe good for people going to pool.

Milk lip oil - love it, have about 6 more now.

Rare beauty blush &glow sample card - not for me. Too pigmented.

Santuary spa sleep mist - I don’t use these, smells far too lavender-y.

Salt and Stone shower gel - not sure what the hype is about. Doesn’t smell THAT great. Bit too masculine for me.

Estee Lauder Perfectly clean - this is like a laundry soap. Takes off everything. Bit too much for my mature skin.

Kopari body oil - loved it. Have another in my collection. Light and smells nice and gentle.

Stila eye pencil - old. Don’t think I ever used it.

Elizabeth Arden Brow Perfector - loved it, already have another one. Great for filling in eyebrows- one side is pencil, other side is powder.

Lancome Génifique serum - still like it. Still have a few more left.

No7 Firming serum - serum was meh but I enjoyed the cool roller balls.

Rimmel Extra super lash mascara- great for every day. Was a freebie, but would buy again.

Nuxe Firming powder cream - visually smoothens skin. Looks great on but wow the smell. And I generally don’t mind fragrance in skincare. This is so heavily scented.

2x Starskin red carpet masks - hmm, still no effect. Disappointed for the price.

Rituals shimmer oil and Nuxe shimmer oil minis - used it up during hot days when I had extra showers. I really don’t like glitter. Scent was nice though.

Other stories body cream - scent was ok but it took forever to soak in. Glad it’s finally gone.

Maroccan oil hair mask - meh. Not great results.

Maroccain oil - actually really liked it as an overnight treatment. Will buy a bigger size and test some more.

Dermalogica face cream - bough a set of minis to try out and this one is the only one I like. Really hydrated my skin. Might need to repurchase.

I have another empty:

  • Superdrug ProCare sensitive whitening toothpaste: does not do what it says on the tin!
OP posts:
ememem84 · 27/07/2025 16:22

First empty/use up for a while.

charlotte tillbury double ended eye pencil. Green one. I LOVED this. But won’t repurchase yet as have about a million eye pencils to get through.

ememem84 · 27/07/2025 20:03

Dr Barbara sturm vitamin c serum finished. Didn’t really like it.

MidnightMeltdown · 27/07/2025 23:12

@Experiment627 I think I might have tried the Head and Shoulders one, but I generally like Head and Shoulders products, whereas I don’t like anything from the Tresemme range. I don’t even like the Tresemme hairspray that I bought. It’s advertised as salon quality, but I’ve never been to a salon that uses it.

Experiment627 · 28/07/2025 16:40

@MidnightMeltdown I think Tresemme is a bit hit and miss. Like I tried the Beauty Full range and did not like at all but I am really enjoying the Lamellar Shine stuff - my hair looks and feels amazing when I use the shampoo + conditioner + leave in serum cream. I did actually used to go to a hairdresser that used it 🤣

I have two more empties to report:

  • elf Holy Hydration eye cream: ok and at least does not smell of Creme de la Mer
  • Garnier Vitamin C Glow Daily UV brightening fluid SPF 50: really love this stuff, would defo RP... but as always grass is greener yadda yadda - so am eyeing up something from Simple

Binned a rose scented but c serum.

it was far too rosey for my liking.

CorneliaStreet · 01/08/2025 17:55

More empties, various little bits and pieces:

The Ordinary squalane cleanser - 50ml. Good everyday cleanser. Probably wouldn’t go out of my way to get more, but would happily use again.

Mixsoon Bean cleansing oil - 20ml. Really liked it, felt lightweight but got mascara off easily and washed clean off.

Ole Henrikson Dewtopia 20% acid night treatment - 7ml. I’m not risking putting 20% acid anything on my face so used on the backs of my arms. It did have a nice consistency so might make a good serum for someone with tougher skin than mine.

Sunday Riley CEO Vit C serum - 8ml. Second one of these sample sizes I’ve used recently. I do like it, but not as much as the Dermalogica Vitamin C serum.

Nacific Fresh Herb Origin serum - 20ml. Felt more like a face oil than a serum and left my skin seriously shiny and greasy. Definitely one for the evening and probably meant for dryer skin types than mine.

REN Evercalm barrier support elixir - 30ml. It’s a shame REN skincare is being discontinued because I really like this Evercalm range. (Bet that daily AHA tonic and the brightening eye cream will be popping up in beauty boxes for a couple years yet though.)

Flanerie Everlasting Spring Hibiscus mask - 45ml. A leave on overnight mask, AKA a night cream. Liked this, not too heavy and greasy.

Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun Aqua Fresh sunscreen - 50ml. A lighter version of the original Rice Relief, so better for summertime. Already got a replacement thanks to the recent Look Fantastic K-beauty box.

Lush Big Calm body conditioner- 100g. I don’t like the formula of these, they leave my skin feeling greasy. My daughter usually nicks a lot of the Lush subscription box stuff but even she won’t touch these 😄

AAA Lily of the valley hand cream - 60ml. A Mother’s Day present from DD, probably from a garden centre. Good formula and smelled pretty nice.

7 Virtues Lotus Pear perfume sample - way too sweet and scent didn’t last (thankfully).

Illamasqua mascara - it doesn’t say on the tube which one but I think it’s the waterproof one. Washed off fine with cleansing balm though. Had to be careful applying as it tended to go clumpy and it flaked a bit towards the end of the day.

Three empties.

Palmers body balm. Really good but I'm not a major fan of your smell.

Essano toner. It was meant to shrink my pores to non-existence. It did not.

Grüum hand cream. Marvellous and if I ever get through my stash I will repurchase. It's moisturising but not greasy. Perfect to have on the desk at work. Only negative is the bottle. Hard to get the last of it out.

I don't think I'm going to make 100 out yours year. I'm only on 39. I'll have to start using the smallest items rather than the oldest.

Used up a dobe bar. Nothing fun or fancy. A staple.

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 02/08/2025 11:26

I’ve finished a few things.

Tulipán negro sweet violeta shower gel. If you are into gourmands, you can’t get any better than this. Smells exactly like Parma violet and it is great. Fun to use as well as it it pastel purple.

hand wash avena by Deliplus. Nice scent, even though it says oat it smells like vanilla. Would rp.

Revlon flex rizo leave in thingy. Good to comb the hair, we don’t have curls, so it defeats that purpose. Not very keen on the smell though.

Some empties

Elemis Marine Cream 100ml - this is a satisfying empty. It's been open since about October last year. I kept getting distracted by trying other creams so for the last couple of months I've made a concerted effort to pan it as my AM moisturiser. Really like this cream although I find it can pill with other products sometimes. When I keep my AM routine simple it's generally okay. Would RP but I have a lot of moisturisers to use so won't be anytime soon.

Estee Lauder Micro Essence mini - Not sure what I think of this. I have another mini to use up. Was hoping it was as good as SKII but I don't think it is. Probably won't purchase.

Summer Fridays CC Me Serum Full Size - This is from last years Cult Beauty edit. Really like this, as Vit C serums go it's very pleasant to use and non irritating. I have a feeling it's maybe not as effective or potent as some but I would use it again just because it feels and smells nice.

AB Rich Cream 50ml - Vinted bargain. Love this as my night cream. I have one more bottle left then I'll be on the hunt again. Keeping fingers crossed it will be in some AC's this year.

2x Sunday Riley Autocorrect minis - Have accumulated a few of these and working my way through them. Favourite AM eye cream so will RP.

Suqqu Aquafons mini - Have used up a few of these. I RP'd a full size. Love it for hydration. There are other cheaper hydration products I love but somehow I miss this one if I don't have a bottle.

Beauty of Joseon Cleansing Balm - Liked this and the hinged lid packaging is great. It has no fragrance and I do like a light scent, it also doesn't emulsify quite as easily as Banila Co or Tatcha, my two faves. I don't know if I will directly RP but if I end up with them from edits or AC's it would get used.

Laneige Cica Sleeping Mask mini - One of my favourites. I have a full size to use.

3 x Youth to the People Kale cleanser sachets - Really like this. I have a travel size to use up also but am considering buying this at some point for the AM when I like to use a gel cleanser.

4 x Sulwhasoo Ultimate S eye cream sachets - Bought a bunch of these from StyleJolly website. Got quite a few left. I do like it but I think I prefer their ginseng eye cream for texture.

The Ordinary Azelaic Acid - Not an empty but I'm binning this. It's been open a long time. Never really figured out where to use it in a routine and it didn't seem to do much.

Ultra Violette Screen Queen - Another non empty that is being binned. Also open quite a while. It's a nice formula but affects my eyes so I just won't use it since finding K beauty sunscreens.

CorneliaStreet · 02/08/2025 14:03

@OvaHere I agree, once you find K beauty sunscreens, there is no going back! I used the Numbuzin one this morning and was thinking how much better it was than the Ultrasun etc I used to use.

OvaHere · 02/08/2025 14:37

@CorneliaStreet Numbuzin No1 is my current favourite. I think I like it even more than BoJ.

Minnie123456 · 03/08/2025 10:52

Only 1 empty in July and it's very boring ☹️ last month I really thought I would meet my target by the end of the year, now I'm not so sure.

Impulse into glamour body spray- didn't like at all.

I did declutter my make up box, some of my make up was very very old 🙈 I didn't count this in my total.

63/100 I have a few things ready to run out so hopefully August will be a better month

LivingDeadGirlUK · 04/08/2025 21:45

I was so excited to try clinique take the day off cleansing balm but its really not great with my mascara :/

paristotokyo · 07/08/2025 04:31

Couple of things I’ve finished:
Round lab dodko cleanser - I’m relieved this is finished as I didn’t love it. Don’t think it’s great for dry skin as it feels a drying. It is very popular though but I’m going back to my hg goats milk cleanser after this. Would usually cut packaging to use the last bits up but I really don’t want to so it’s going!
Clinique black honey - this is my favourite lip product ever (a shame it’s not very long lasting.. they really need to make this into a tint!!!). The perfect shade for me. I usually have two on the go so the other ones also almost finished that lives in my handbag. Will definitely replace despite having twenty million lip products :)
Wardah sun stick - picked this cheaply in our drugstore. Says it’s light matte but I feel it’s actually really glowy, which I like. The top came off in my bag so it was destroyed so I’m chucking it. I only use sun sticks as a touch up throughout the day when I don’t wear make up (which is most days lately).
I have quite a few more almost empties to be posted in the coming weeks

OvaHere · 07/08/2025 08:17

@paristotokyo Agree about the Round Lab cleanser. I find it drying. They do a Cica one I would like to try. Beauty edits always seem to put this one in though.

I've got a couple more empties

Niod FECC - I like this and have repurchased. I think it's better than The Ordinary Peptide eye serum I used previously. Planning to buy a few if they do their usual November big discounts.

Sunday Riley CEO Vit C Serum mini- Pleasant to use. Not sure if it's my favourite but I have a another mini and a full size to use up in the stash.

Experiment627 · 08/08/2025 13:57

I have two empties to report:

  • Garnier Vitamin C Daily UV Glow 50 SPF: I really liked this - probably my fave from the 3 Garnier ones I tried - does not give major coverage just a tint
  • Timotei repairing mask avocado oil & jasmine extract: back in the day I would probably have been more than fine with this but I have recently tried so many hair care products that give so much more bang for the buck that this was rather underwhelming.

ITookYourJoob · 08/08/2025 17:44

Redken volume injection shampoo and conditioner- recommended by Blowout professor. Shampoo was good, really cleans the hair without damaging it. Conditioner was useless. The worst part about them was the smell - extremely chemical.

M&S shower gel - meh.

Sunkissed shower foam - not very nice either.

Madara Sun15 - in theory a good product, sort of like a body bb cream but in reality doesn’t work.

Ouai body cream - pina colada scent. Nice but not special.

Estee Lauder Night Repair - quite alcohol-y. Not my favourite serum.

Terry Brightening Cc serum - quite yellow but hydrated well. Somewhat similar to Mac yellow makeup base.

Dermalogica exfoliant - good product but terrible packaging. Difficult to get it out, have to mix it without making it too watery or leaving too dusty. Otherwise performed like a really good scrub.

Dermalogica cleaning oil and face wash - together they work well but separately not at all. For this reason I won’t RP as I don’t wear enough makeup for double cleaners.

Garnier eyepatches (not in photo) - very avarage. Not really worth the price.

OvaHere · 09/08/2025 20:38

Few more

Pureology Strength Cure Shampoo & Conditioner minis - really like these. Also like the version in the purple bottles.

Ritual of Namaste face cleanser- really glad to see the back of this. It must have been open well over a year but it's an air pump delivery so didn't seem to go off. It was fine I suppose, slightly drying and overall just a bit meh so I kept using others instead. Forced myself to finish it.
