And a frozen lipstick my daughter finished.
they are not great, are they? If they are marketed to children…

@MidnightMeltdown you are absolutely right about Liz Earle’s eyebright lotion. As a cleanser is rubbish but the shop assistant who sold it to me marketed it as a toner for puffy eyes, so that it depuffs them. Bonus points if you keep it in the fridge and leave it on your eyes as if they were two cucumber slices.

Hmm interesting. I’m not the sort of person to sit around with things on my eyes (don’t have time for that!), so it’s only really useful to me as a cleanser. I reckon that two cotton wool buds soaked in cold water would probably have the same depuffing effect. Considering that it’s a pricey product, I feel that it should really be good at both of its claimed functions! I usually like Liz Earle products, but wasn’t impressed with this.

Couple more empties

Mediheal Boh Probioderm 3D Lifting Full Face Tension Gel Mask - This is an interesting one - it's packed with ingredients but doesn't feel like there's much on the mask. I liked that it's only a 20-30 min mask and I liked the hoik everything upwards chin firming bit.

It took me a while to figure out the mechanics of it and l ended up wearing the wrong side of the mask for the first 10 mins so had to reapply it and start again. I had a bit of trouble getting the chin straps to pull up far enough to stick to the forehead bit. It was just doable - these masks are made for rounder asian facial structures I think and not the longer horsey features of people like me!

Despite the faffing around I did actually really like this and my skin did feel lovely and soft afterwards. I have another of them which hopefully will go on with a bit more ease now I know what I'm doing. I would repurchase I think.

La Mer face cream - teeny tiny sample pot that I got about 5 uses from. Couldn't see what the fuss was at first but it grew on me a bit after the first couple of uses. Can't deny it's nice for dry skin. Used it on my neck a couple of times, I think it makes a nice neck cream - not runny and sinks in very well. I would use this again but realistically I'm unlikely to buy it.

Some more empties:

Banila Clean It Zero cleansing balm - 100ml. This was great, up there with Farmacy Green Clean as my favourite cleansing balm.

By Beauty Bay Hyaluronic Acid & Sea Moss face mist - 100ml. Meh. Face mists don’t really do anything for me.

Iunik Black Snail Restore serum - 50ml. Really liked this. Less gloopy than the Cosrx snail essence (70% rather than 96%), but still felt hydrating and soothing. Would get this again.

Eve Lom retinol serum - 9.5ml. First Eve Lom product I’ve liked. Not sure about long term benefits, but very nice to use.

Peter Thomas Roth pumpkin enzyme mask - 14ml. Made my skin tingle even just using it as an exfoliating cleanser. Wouldn’t have wanted to leave it on for 3 to 7 minutes as they suggest on the packaging.

Dove Invigorating Care hand cream - 75ml. A bit thin and feeble.

Shay & Blue Tonka Angelica perfume - 10ml. Liked it, but not enough to want a full bottle.

Lush Passion shower gel - 120g. Smelled incredible, one of the best Lush fragrances I’ve tried. Unfortunately it’s limited edition, so won’t be able to get it until next year.

Bath & Body Works Pink Pineapple Sunrise body lotion - 236ml. My favourite body lotion and this is probably my favourite B&BW scent. Also seasonal, so hopefully they’ll have it again this summer so I can restock.

OGX apple cider vinegar shampoo - 385ml. Had greasy roots by the end of the day with this.

Tigi Bed Head recovery conditioner - 750ml. Quite lightweight for a repairing conditioner so might not do the job on really damaged hair, but it was perfect for my hair. Got it on sale on Amazon Prime day and a massive bottle that lasted for months, so worked out really good value.

Anyone pick up anything in Space NK beauty favourites sale?

I’ve ordered the Laneige cream skin toner (got a sample of it a while back and really liked it), and stocked up on my favourite Maison Margiela perfumes - Sailing Day, Lazy Sunday Morning, and Bubble Bath. I also restocked on the Lazy Sunday Morning shower gel and body lotion, and got 2 bottles of the Caudalie beauty elixir.

OvaHere · 13/04/2025 17:31

@loropianalover

I was very restrained. I had a £5 voucher so I just bought some Caudalie body wash that worked out at £3 overall.

Sarah Chapman spf, this is great, a little goes a long way although I remember it being expensive. Has a slight smell of gherkins which an actually grew to like!
pillow spray, I’m completely out of these now but I’m one of the few who enjoy them so hope one arrives with me again.
molton brown shower gel - hotel freebie and a very nice one, I liked the fresh scent and it was non drying.

Was it the purple one? I love that.

Yes. Never tried any of them before but that seemed the most popular scent.

@ememem84 how is it all going? Having mini toiletries to brighten your day sounds like a great plan xxx

I have an empty to report:

  • Rituals The Ritual of Dao night balm for the hands: used this twice a day on my son's nails - tootsies and hands - he gets terrible hang nails/dry edges/sore finger from biting nails. This has worked wonders and hang nails are gone/easier to trim. Would definitely purchase in the future - this was given to me by a friend.

@CorneliaStreet I tried the OGX apple cider vinegar duo a while back and remember being disappointed. I have found the best shampoos for my oily roots/dry ends is Tresemme Replenish & Cleanse or Head & Shoulders deep cleanse oil control.

I was doing some research earlier for the next shampoo to try on my hair and discovered a product that is shampoo that does not need water... definitely going to look into that more!

I tried a bit of the Oribe styling balm today - but too much for my hair but smelled absolutely hamazing on!

Hope every one is keeping well - Happy Easter! 🐣

Empties!
L’Oréal day cream - fine. Wouldn’t rebuy as I want to try something new
Revolution skin silk foundation - really good and would rebuy. I got this as I couldn’t find the Bourjois serum foundation which I love and it was nearly as good. Medium coverage, good colour match
the Ordinary argirline (or something) - is said to work on facial lines caused by frowning etc so have repurchased and am using daily on my awful forehead lines.

Empties

  • Sanex shower gel (travel mini)
  • planter49 caffeine shampoo - i decanted the rest into a travel squeezy bottle to bring with me
  • Pack of make up wipes

also hit pan on another nude shade on my eyeshadow pallet (urban decay born to run)

LivingDeadGirlUK · 16/04/2025 12:01

Hey guys, I've been away from the thread for a while because I had really whittled down my stash as well as starting skin + me so wasn't really buying a lot of new things. However stuff has crept in and my draws are overflowing again.

Some things I'm on a one in one out basis, such as shower gels, shampoo and conditioner, other things I'm overflowing such as hair care products, makeup and perfumes.

Today I finished an orange blossom shower gel from Sainsburys, I've put a rose bar soap in the shower to use instead, not sure how I'll get on with it as can find soap a bit drying.

nottheplan · 16/04/2025 21:41

I bought the Charlotte Tilbury pillow talk beauty soulmates face pallette from Space NK (love it) and got a few testers. One of them is sol de Janeiro Beijing flor elastic cream. Omg it smells divine and me skin feels good 😍 Has anyone purchased the full tub? It's quite expensive but the reviews are mostly good.

ememem84 · 17/04/2025 08:48

Finished up my decanted shower gel today and have binned the travel bottle. Completely useless.

next week when I’m here I’ll just be using the hotel shower and shampoo stuff. Cuts down on space in my bag!

also finished my smallest deodorant.

Experiment627 · 17/04/2025 10:17

@LivingDeadGirlUK great work on the stash! I know how it creeps back in so easy :)

I have an empty to report:

  • Freeman sleepy time sheet mask: this was SO saturated I got so many uses out of it (sealing it back up and keeping in the fridge). Did not notice a difference with my sleep (mainly cos I used in the morning!) but was lovely and hydrating.

Ha I fell off the thread.

A few from me but I forgot to post last month.

Aveda invati shampoo and conditioner. I really like it and think it feels gentle, seem to have less breakage.
Wow dream coat, it works, great for holidays.
Sol de Janeiro shower cream and bum bum cream. Both lovejy, prefer the purple fragrance.
L’occitane cleansing oil, was fine.
Sunday Riley serum - liked it.

and a few perfume samples.

Anastasia travel size mascara
charlitte tillbury full size felt pen eyeliner
goop mini face moisturiser
packet of Superdrug miceller wipes

refilled my perfume atomiser
refilled my pot for body lotion for the week
found a half used facial cleanser which is being packed for next week
found another Sanex shower gel mini
refilled my pot of night cream

all of the above will be taken with me when I head back to London on Tuesday.

mini Clarins toner is almost gone. Couple more days of use then I’ll pick up a new one at duty free (I only have this one so buying new is ok!)

What did you think of the Clarins serum @BlueLimeRun is it comparable to Estee Lauder ANR (if you've ever tried that)?

BlueLimeRun · 21/04/2025 14:16

@OvaHere its better than EL imo, skin feels smoother and but plumper. I quite like the Sunday Riley vitamin C too. Have you tried that?

OvaHere · 21/04/2025 14:22

Thanks. I like ANR but maybe I should try this one sometime.

I bought the Sunday Riley Vit C in the Sephora sale for 25% off. I'm using Summer Fridays Vit C at the moment from last years CB SF edit which I like a lot. Everyone raves more about SR though. Hoping I like it as I can't tolerate every type of Vit C, some are too harsh for me.

BlueLimeRun · 21/04/2025 14:27

@OvaHere Probably they’re all much the same... The things that have made the biggest difference to my skin are double cleansing and using a face oil 2-3 times a week.
