Some more empties:

Drunk Elephant Beste No 9 Jelly Cleanser - 15ml. Fine. Don’t really get the hype with Drunk Elephant products.

Pixi Glow Mist - 80ml. Smelled good and felt nice on the skin. I don’t think I really need a facial mist though, so I kind of use up any I get in beauty boxes etc just for the sake of it.

Flanerie Jasmine Sunset Rose Quartz night cream - 45ml. No idea what the name means, but it was a good night cream, not too thick and greasy.

Aromatherapy Associates Fine Line face oil - 15ml. Not really a fan of face oils but this wasn’t too heavy and absorbed well. Also smelled lovely.

Shay & Blue Salt Caramel perfume - 10ml. Super gourmand, as the name suggests. Smells like toffee popcorn!

Bare Minerals Strength & Length mascara - has a weird spiky and flat but curvy wand that took a bit of getting used to. The mascara itself was good, though very black so quite high impact on me.

Lush Smitten hand cream - 100g. One of the best hand creams I’ve tried, which is annoying as it was a subscription box exclusive so I can’t buy any more.

Garnier watermelon conditioner - 350ml. Weighed my hair down a bit and I didn’t like the fake fruity scent. The matching shampoo is even worse and I refuse to use it up. Will be either used as a makeup brush cleaner or chucked.

Larry King My Nanna’s Mousse - 150ml. More of a foam than a mousse. Did a pretty good job on flyaways but not a repurchase (partly because the name makes me feel really old 😂).

Organic Shop Vanilla Latte body scrub - 450ml. Smelled really good but contains real coffee grounds, so made a horrible mess of my shower. No thanks.

Wow! @ememem84 two week’s growth! I don’t think my hair grows that much in a year! (Not joking - had a fringe cut in April and still hasn’t needed to be trimmed yet. Growing the bastard thing out is going to take YEARS.)

Choux · 26/01/2025 20:45

3 empties this week so the 2025 tally is now 8.

Sunday Riley CEO Afterglow vit c moisturize - it's a luminous yellow but smells nice. However I also had a sample of a Lumene vit c moisturizer. I liked both but the Lumene is £30 for a 50ml pot and the Sunday Riley is £60. I can't justify the extra spend when am happy with the Lumene one.

Miller Harris - Poirier d'un Soir. I liked it but think it's more of a masculine scent so wouldn't buy it for myself.

Guerlain lipstick. Well this is annoying. A friend gave me the case and a lipstick a couple of years ago as a gift so I have been treating myself to £35 lipstick refills - it looks nice in my handbag but I only use it when out and about because £35 for a lipstick is insane. But now they have redesigned the case and the refills so my case is obsolete. To get a new case and lipstick would be £67. Just no. (The case I like best is out of stock anyway because everyone who has an old style case now needs to rebuy it). I replaced it with en ELF one that I got free as I bought a Halo glow filter and mascara which I needed anyway. From a £35 💄 to a free 💄 in one week!

Wow @ememem84. That’s amazing regrowth!

ememem84 · 27/01/2025 07:10

It’s pretty wild isn’t it?! I’ve always had very thick very unruly hair. It grows like a weed!

allegedly post chemo hair can be even more wild. So god knows what’s going to happen. But I don’t care. Because it’s mine. And it’s coming back.

I dropped a lash down the toilet on Saturday night. So had to go out lash less. That counts right?!

MrsBnow12 · 28/01/2025 07:18

@Choux The Lumene Vit C moisturiser is on the Boots £10 offer today.
@ememem84 That is amazing regrowth

Fraaahnces · 28/01/2025 13:59

Loo lash definitely counts @ememem84… I don’t think I’d go fishing for it.

wheresmyshoe · 31/01/2025 20:48

13/100

Diptyque Do Son hand cream - it's gorgeous, one of my favourite Diptyque scents. It's also expensive, I'd be delighted if another one arrived as a present.

x2 under eye masks. Equally effective, this things really are good, I have more to use up but would like to always have some available. They erased poor sleep puffy eyes.

Thanks for letting me know but I already have an unopened full size pot from a previous time it was in the £10 offer.

I have also worked out I have about a year's worth of cleansers, masks, serums, moisturizers and eye creams so I am buying nothing till these are used up. After all it's the purpose of the thread!

Fraaahnces · 01/02/2025 01:11

Back on the subject of hair loss…. I have just discovered that my serum testosterone levels are v, v low. Explains a lot of things. I’m post-menopausal, but young as I had a hysterectomy many years ago. I’m going to be prescribed topical testosterone to try, and assuming it doesn’t have other side effects, I shall report back. Very lucky to have such a switched-on GP!
Also, two empties to report… Milk_Shake Incredible Milk (leave in hair conditioner). Dreadful spray, but when sprayed into my hands and squished through my hair, it was perfectly fine. I’m not into the salted caramel/vanilla scents, but other love them. I can’t fault the product, but I’m going to try the floral one instead. (Potentially equally squicky).
Laneige Pink Lemonade Swirly Lip Sleeping Mask done. Was fabulous. Love. 10/10. Would repurchase if it was resurrected. (I have a drawer full of other ones to work through, so have no fear for my lips. They’ll be just fine. These are two little things I won’t have to move with me when I move house next week.)

Experiment627 · 01/02/2025 07:36

@ememem84 EVERYTHING counts!

@Fraaahnces I have been using topical Testosterone for about 18 months (alongside Oestrogen gel and Progesterone for half my cycle up the fanjo). Since adding Testosterone into the cocktail my mood and energy levels are higher. I apply the T to my inner thigh and I get some dark hairs there, where there never were any before.I also think I have a Mother of a long hair on the back of my leg but am not numble enough to check that out and there are only so many times I can ask my 6 year old to search for it 🤣
I am glad you have an understanding and knowledgable GP. In the UK fhey typically only prescribe T for low libido but before my GP thought to ask about my sex life (which took me no time at all to answer) she had already issued the prescription 🤩
Good luck with your house move!

Not strictly an empty but the "doofer" has come off so this is a chuck:

  • Catrice True Skin high cover concealer: actually really nice to use & cheap as chips

A few more empties

Dr Jart Cicapair Serum Mask - didn't rate this particularly. Skin felt tacky for ages afterwards then a bit tight as it dried off. Wouldn't RP.

111Skin Cryo Depuffing Eye Mask - These were nice. Don't know that I would buy them - they came in a beauty box. I still have a couple of the Rose Gold ones to use.

Laneige Cica Sleeping Mask - Loved this and would RP but I have 3 other overnight masks to use up first including the collagen one from the same range. It's been great for winter skin. Very moisturising.

Glow Recipe Avocado Ceramide Recovery Serum - I liked this, it felt nice on the skin and I would use it if it arrived in a GWP etc. but I don't think I will RP. Main reasons being you can get nice ceramide serums cheaper than GR and I hate the bottle. Once it gets down to about a third or less it's difficult to pump out - I had to unscrew it and shake onto my fingers then invariably I'd end up with too much. Pretty bottle, useless design.

Fraaahnces · 02/02/2025 07:20

@Experiment627 I asked about the hair thing. I was told it is usually avoided by frequently swapping bodily locations for application, ie, forearms, upper arms, thighs, calves, buttocks. I’m blonde. I don’t want to suddenly look like a yeti.

Minnie123456 · 02/02/2025 10:45

January's empties
L'occitane shower gel- this was nice, lathered up nicely and had a nice fresh scent, a cheaper one would probably be just as nice though.
Garnier vitamin C daily uv brightening fluid- this was very dark on my skin but I don't think I applied it properly. This was a sample and I have a full sized one in my stash.
Lavender bath bomb x2- I think I had these too long as they had lost their scent.
111 skin rose gold brightening mask- this was nice, did seem to brighten up my skin abit. Not too fussed on sheet masks as they're single use, unfortunately I have alot in my stash to use.
Juliette has a gun magnolia bliss- loved loved loved this, unfortunately I couldn't smell it after a while so not sure if I could justify buying a full sized bottle.
Mor marshmallow hand and body wash- I hated this, it was very runny and smelt horrible and didn't really lather up.
Lacura Q10 day cream - I really liked this and will probably rp when I've used all my other creams.

IN 12, this* *counts beauty drop, I then treated myself alot on holiday 🙈🙈

@Fraaahnces a yeti LMAO 🤣🤣🤣I need to re-read the instructions I got - and maybe I should move the location I am applying it.

Experiment627 · 02/02/2025 11:27

@Minnie123456 I have the Garnier Glow SPF 50 on the go - of the 3 this is the one I like best - it does not give much "coverage" like a foundation would but gave a nice finish over a slight tan.

2 empties this week so the 2025 tally is now 10.

Sunday Riley Good Genes Glycolic treatment. This was pleasant to use but it lasted 2 months so would cost about £200 to use it for a year. I don't think it's worth that as it didn't seem to do anything overtly visible after two months use.

Rituals Happy Buddha salt scrub. I think the happy Buddha range has been discontinued but I really liked this scrub. It was really oily so very moisturizing in the shower. I have dry skin and don't like to hang around waiting for moisturizer to soak in in winter. So an in shower product is good for me. I am considering re buying to get me through to spring - there are another couple of fragrances that are nice.

Minnie123456 · 02/02/2025 18:29

@Experiment627 I will give the full size one a go, I honestly don't think I applied it properly as it looked like I had a full face of make up on lol.

ememem84 · 04/02/2025 10:02

Cleared out bathroom cabinet and have binned a lot of expired stuff. We’re getting a new bathroom next week. So this stuff had to be sorted.

ememem84 · 04/02/2025 10:05

We’re also away on hols next week so have put loads of sample sizes in the suitcase to take with us and have also deported some of my make up.

most of what I’m taking won’t come back.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 04/02/2025 11:52

I can't add a photo but I have 7 empties.

Rohto Mentholatum - Melano CC Vitamin C Premium Essence - love it.

Aldi cleansing balm. It does the job every bit as well as the more expensive brands.

Tisserand rose and ylang ylang hand cream. Smells amazing and is moisturising.

Palmer's cocoa butter handcream. Really moisturising but I'm not a fan of the smell.

L'Occitane foot cream. I always have one of these on the go.

REN brightening eye cream. I don't like it. You need to rub quite firmly to get it to absorb.

Suddenly Lovely perfume. Supposed Lidl dupe for J'Adore. It's not.

12/100

R00tat00tt00t · 04/02/2025 23:30

Tried adding this last night with a photo and couldn't. Have since heard that no longer able to post photos on site due the explicit photos hack at weekend.

Hello, few days late but here's my January dump. Another 13 items so tally now stands at 29/52 in '25.
The only items worth commenting on are the Bobbi Brown Long wear cream shadow stick in nude beach and it's Kiko dupe which was less than half the price but not quite as good in texture or shade although not bad. I wear cream shadows daily so get through them quite quickly and the Bobbi Brown one is rather pricey.
Sunday Riley Auto Correct eye cream - amazing stuff but again bit pricey, I bought the full size and finished it in a month!
Votary nutrient cream light - okay but didn't like the smell and texture a bit too sloppy for me.
Murad aha/bha exfoliating cleanser - quite like it, leaves skin lovely and smooth, feels polished iykwim.
Davines ou oil - great, light hair oil but leaves my hair a bit too soft for styling and prefer other products.
Gucci Bloom rollerball - wish more scents were available in this handy format for handbags, holidays etc.

Looking forward to having a look through my stash to decide what use next.
