Cult Beauty back in stock and working with GWP (value £195).

JudgeBurrito · 28/10/2024 09:49

I've ordered the Space NK fragrance for my mum's Christmas. She's had a tough year and I think she'll like it. I've taken the Malin & Goetz Leather out and will replace with her favourite perfume, as I thought it would be a bit masculine for her. Although I tried it yesterday and absolutely loved it! From the description I expected to palm it off to DH, but I was getting lovely violet notes through.

Btw: I found this site that has lists of ingredients in skincare/makeup:

https://www.skincarisma.com/

I have started chucking out all my stuff, (loads😿), that has talc and am looking for replacements.

This site lists talc as safe, (which I know is one opinion), but it is good at identifying which products have it, if that’s a concern for you.

Cult Beauty back in stock and working with GWP (value £195).

This also works with code CBWELCOME15 which brings it down to £211.50, including the GWP and a £25 gift card

That’s very useful. I am horrified any of the products have talc! I am also concerned about parabens and other nasties. I always used natural products that weren’t tested on animals and these advent calendars have gone to me head. It’s good to be reminded of the fact that many of the ingredients in skincare are carcinogenic.

ElizabethG81 · 28/10/2024 10:04

Ordered Cult Beauty, it's a great offer with the GWP and voucher.

pinkchampagne1 · 28/10/2024 10:06

Really tempted by Cult Beauty but I really don’t need a second advent calendar so trying to resist the urge to check out!

TreesinthePark · 28/10/2024 10:19

I have just ordered CB! This thread is dangerous but I would have been gutted if I'd seen that discount and GWP later in the day when it's gone.

Pinenu · 28/10/2024 10:26

I was tempted by CB with the GWP so watched an unboxing to help decide and I’m not impressed. The product range just isn’t for me this year and there are only a couple of items I’d be excited to open.

I’m feeling very sensible but now dread the inevitable - me using this moment to justify buying several ACs/boxes.

LivinInYourBigGlassHouseWithAView · 28/10/2024 10:56

I think CB Is already gone again; just went to have a look at it. Don't remember thinking most of it was 'for me'.

Anyway, my M&S arrived this morning. I know many aren't impressed with it this year, but for me, at £2 per day for an extra autumn treat I know I'll likely use, even if it's not 'glamorous', is nice. Plus, it encouraged me to splurge on a very pretty top for the holiday season which I really needed.

Will open M&S as a November birthday advent calendar and save John Lewis for December.

Anyone had any news of Sephora dispatching/ delivering? It's all a bit vague on the website despite wanting £199 upfront!

Depends when you ordered it. My friend ordered the first or second day it went live and got hers last week.

MidnightMeltdown · 28/10/2024 11:19

I think I'm done with beauty buying until next advent season. I have enough of everything to get me through next year and beyond!

About a week ago. I guess I'll wait!

IlovePond · 28/10/2024 11:51

I know @Obsessedwithsourdough - I have so many products with goodness knows what in them, but I was genuinely oblivious to the presence of talc. I was labouring under the delusion that it had been banned. I have beautiful EL palettes, etc. that I now can’t face using. I mean, they are probably fine, but😿

Re: Cult Beauty - such a good deal with discount and GWP.

However, I suggest checking drawers on receipt/getting someone else to check, as there have been a few reports on online reviews of items missing/damaged. (I found this out when watching videos to decide whether to buy it.)

Monpetitchoumonpetitepois · 28/10/2024 12:00

I have a talc query.
I use benefit hoola and I've noticed talc is no longer listed in the ingredients but google says they haven't reformulated.
Edited, I actually have 3 from gift sets and all 3 have different ingredients. I took photo before checking the third

IlovePond · 28/10/2024 12:03

That’s weird @Monpetitchoumonpetitepois - have you got the energy to message them?

Monpetitchoumonpetitepois · 28/10/2024 12:04

Here's all 3. All have different ingredients. All were purchased in benefit gift sets

That’s just weird @Monpetitchoumonpetitepois 🤷‍♀️

Thelifeofawife · 28/10/2024 12:44

@Monpetitchoumonpetitepois That’s very strange. I would contact them and ask them to confirm what the correct ingredients are, they should be using the same.
You could even request reimbursement as they didn’t make it clear on their branding that the ingredients were different (they may not honour, but may give you a voucher as ‘good will’)

Hoola Matte Bronzer Travel Size Mini | Benefit Cosmetics

The Benefit website says

WHAT'S IN IT
SYNTHETIC FLUORPHLOGOPITE, MICA, CALCIUM CARBONATE, LAUROYL LYSINE, ZINC STEARATE, BORON NITRIDE, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, SILICA, ORYZA SATIVA (RICE) BRAN WAX, BIS-DIGLYCERYL POLYACYLADIPATE-2, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, SODIUM DEHYDROACETATE, PASSIFLORA EDULIS SEED OIL, TOCOPHEROL, HELIANTHUS ANNUUS (SUNFLOWER) SEED OIL. [+/- CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 (IRON OXIDES), CI 77891 (TITANIUM DIOXIDE), CI 15850 (RED 7), CI 77007 (ULTRAMARINES), CI 19140 (YELLOW 5 LAKE), CI 42090 (BLUE 1 LAKE), CI 77742 (MANGANESE VIOLET)].
N° 18740

PRODUCT INGREDIENT LISTINGS ARE UPDATED PERIODICALLY. BEFORE USING A BENEFIT PRODUCT, PLEASE READ THE INGREDIENT LIST ON THE PACKAGING OF YOUR PRODUCT TO BE SURE THAT THE INGREDIENTS ARE APPROPRIATE FOR YOUR PERSONAL USE.

So it looks like it used to contain talc but now has mica and silica. Given that the ingredients list on each box is (presumably) correct, I'm not sure there would be any point contacting Benefit.

pinkchampagne1 · 28/10/2024 14:56

Cult Beauty appears to have sold out again. I am quite relieved as I was close to ordering it just because of the gwp and I really didn’t need it!

IDontHateRainbows · 28/10/2024 15:15

Yes, I nearly ordered it but fate intervened!

pinkchampagne1 · 28/10/2024 15:50

Same here. I had it in my basket but then my friend turned up so I didn’t have time to check out. When I checked later it had sold out. Probably for the best as I have the Harrods calendar plus quite a stash of products I haven’t yet used.
There are a few of the gift sets being sold on Vinted for around £30 if anyone just wanted the gwp.

Puravida23 · 28/10/2024 17:11

Yeah I am glad too that I didn’t see the Cult Beauty Advent before it sold out. I would definitely have ordered it even though I absolutely don’t need any more products and have already got the GWP as ordered some staples from Cult Beauty over the weekend (I didn’t need the first GWP no idea what I would have done with two!)
