Tretinoin 0.006 - I think I can see an improvement already!! (Pic)

I've been using skin + me for the last month, and am on an incredibly low dose of tret (0.006), but I think I can see an improvement!! My skin has been feeling softer and more "elastic" somehow (although I thought that might be due to slathering in moisturiser to soothe the dryness I experienced for a couple of weeks). I feel like my face just looks a bit brighter. I took a pic before starting and another one a couple of days ago. I've put them together and I think I can see a little softening of my (intense) frown lines. I'm so pleased! Can you see it too? (first pic on the left, new pic on the right). I'm annoyed that I didn't get the lighting the same, so I look more pink in the recent photo.

Can anyone post a link to where they buy tret online at a good price please? Apart from skin+me and similar?

Here:

https://www.farmaciaenandorra.com/shop/

Yo have to email them (fine in English!) and ask, as they are no longer allowed to advertise medicines. Postage is expensive, but is still way cheaper than the uk options. I buy several at a time to offset the postage.

Ok sharing. I am 52 and this is my forehead with nothing except Tret. No before photos and sorry about my undone roots and eyebrows!
As you can probably tell I am not white British which may make a bit of a difference.

Oh my goodness! 52?! Your skin is beautiful!

menohnopausal · 11/11/2024 11:44

Wow @Lentilweaver ! Thank you for sharing. Your skin is so smooth!

A month is too short for Tret to work. It's a long game.

Agreed, tret is a long time game but its worth the wait. It does take around 3 months on an average.

Lentilweaver · 11/11/2024 12:41

Thanks @Amybelle88 and @menohnopausal I am on 0.025% but only use it twice a week. Been on it since the beginning of the pandemic; masks were useful to hide the initial purging!

No, this isn't a Skin and Me ad campaign; I am sure they would choose better groomed models if it was! And as I said, I get it overseas very cheap.

I bought from them too and the quality of the product is good. There were no problems with delivery, everything came quickly and in one piece.

I'm a bit confused by that company. They claim to be in the UK but you can't buy tretinoin over the counter here, you need a prescription. Are they based in another country?

CurledUpLikeADog · 11/11/2024 13:26

UmberMoose · 10/10/2024 13:49

Good to know. I have been using tret for a long time now as I buy it for around GBP2-3ish per tube of 20gms with paypal and it has been great by far. Here goes my routine:
Morning:
Using water to wash your face,
Sebamed clear face gel,
Garnier spf
Evening:
Cerave moisturizer,
Tretinoin (0.1) from skinorac
Sebamed clear facial gel

Where do you buy it from?

You're buying it from Andorra which has the same rules as us. In that case I don't understand your confusion.

If concerned you can switch to dermatica or skin+me. I don't like their marketing methods as they pay to recommend them.
It's not unbiased when someone tells you how brilliant a company is, then immediately offers you a code so they get money off themselves.

Can I ask where do you buy it from? Skin and Me didn’t do anything for me, but want to try tret and not get a knock off fake one by accident! Thanks

One option is Obagi. Expensive though.

To clarify, my point is that UK pharmacies aren't allowed to sell tret without a prescription. That site claims to be in the UK, so if it is, then how come they are selling it? I do notice that there's no landline number, which is odd for a pharmacy.

It's legal to buy retirides (tret) in Spain. It's not the same as in the UK, rules for many medications vary by country.

Start my second tube this evening, onto the 0.009. Have always had relatively good skin but it was looking and feeling a bit worn and grey going into winter. It's only been a month but it's feeling brighter which is good. Am enjoying the pared down routine too, have stopped doing exfoliating or face masks for now so I don't interfere with this process.

menohnopausal · 18/11/2024 17:29

@MiniCooperLover have you had much in the way of irritation? If not, and you're seeing benefits already and want to accelerate the process, you can ask for a quicker increase in the percentage of tret.

MiniCooperLover · 19/11/2024 22:28

A little bit but only at night, am happy for it to take it course even if that's slowly

MiniCooperLover · 21/11/2024 05:45

menohopausal how are you getting on at the moment? I've had a few comments off friends along the lines of 'oh your skin looks nice considering it's winter'. I know what they mean, usually winter makes me a bit grey looking but my skin feels nice and bright at the minute
