Tretinoin 0.006 - I think I can see an improvement already!! (Pic)

I've been using skin + me for the last month, and am on an incredibly low dose of tret (0.006), but I think I can see an improvement!! My skin has been feeling softer and more "elastic" somehow (although I thought that might be due to slathering in moisturiser to soothe the dryness I experienced for a couple of weeks). I feel like my face just looks a bit brighter. I took a pic before starting and another one a couple of days ago. I've put them together and I think I can see a little softening of my (intense) frown lines. I'm so pleased! Can you see it too? (first pic on the left, new pic on the right). I'm annoyed that I didn't get the lighting the same, so I look more pink in the recent photo.

That's a good result, OP I am a tret evangelist myself. I dont want to post pix but I am 52 snd have zero wrinkles. I do have datk circles and sagging so I am no Jennifer Aniston. But I too have the best skin of my life.

Awesome to hear that

MiniCooperLover · 08/11/2024 23:12

I had a confirmation from them that my next order was ordered on the 31st Oct but no sign. Any ideas?

menohnopausal · 08/11/2024 23:23

Hmm, that's odd (and annoying!). My three deliveries have all come two days after the despatch date. I would get on to them and maybe get them to resend? I assume that means you've run out already? 😖

Ah no, I've just remembered you're only a couple of weeks in. I wonder if they just confirm the order at the end of the month and send it later? I happen to have started my deliveries at the end of the month.

Mmm, same here. It's the only thing that really works, after buying just about every lotion going over the years, now I just use SPF50, any moisturiser and a tiny blob of tret from a Spanish pharmacy. Never spent so little on skincare!

MiniCooperLover · 09/11/2024 11:35

Started mine around the 19th so hopefully next order will arrive before then. I also ordered the brightening serum as I loved the feel of it but I wonder if my SimpleVitaminC drops would do the same? Have stayed with my protect and perfect day and night cream as they were already quite rich and I had lots of La RochePosay SPF50 left over from Summer 😊

MiniCooperLover · 09/11/2024 11:37

I don't know if I'm imagining it but I think some of my sun damage looks clearer? Before picture

I don't mind the freckles just using them as an example. Def feel skin looks fresher though which is good for 51

Yep..My annual skincare bill probably.is under £15-20. I only use Tret, Olay or Simple moisturiser and ordinary sunscreen.

I get my tret from family in India. If people have colleagues travelling to India, it is available OTC and very cheap. Obviously do not take if pregnant and only as instructed.

Thanks for sharing. My routine is also similar and nothing expensive.

@MiniCooperLover I've taken the liberty of making a before and after collage. It's a bit tricky cos the lighting is different in the two photos, but I think I can see a difference to your freckles, especially on the left, and I can also see a difference in skin texture - the (very very) lines have reduced. FWIW I'm envious of your before picture. I'm imagining that you might not see as significant improvements as me because you've already got great skin!

Am surprised such a low dose works my prescription is 0.1 maybe I will use less at a time.

MiniCooperLover · 09/11/2024 11:37

Almost a month in

Zero difference. Get some hydroquinone and it'll soon be gone.

Itsalwaysfools · 10/11/2024 15:07

Op, zero difference in your pics too. Genuinely can't understand why everyone is saying they see an improvement, unless it's a mass advert! If your wrinkles bother you, just get botox. It's quick, effective, long lasting and cost effective.

Fairslice · 10/11/2024 15:51

I must say I cannot see any difference. Botox for me too! Amazing stuff!

menohnopausal · 10/11/2024 16:34

Ah that's a shame you can't see the difference. Maybe it's not as obvious to others as I thought! I promise it's not an advert 😆. I genuinely thought it would be helpful for people to hear my "successful" experience with tretinoin, especially if they don't want to go down the Botox route.

Can anyone post a link to where they buy tret online at a good price please? Apart from skin+me and similar?

menohnopausal · 10/11/2024 17:16

I think a PP recommended skinorac as a good online shop for tret.

I actually disagree with those saying no difference, look at the pores above the eyebrows, to me they're clearly less. It all takes time ... nothing is immediate. 🤷‍♀️

Honestly I don't want to piss on the OPs chips but if you need to squint and zoom in then it probably looks no difference in real life. I certainly wouldn't bother based on these pics.

Lentilweaver · 10/11/2024 22:55

A month is too short for Tret to work. It's a long game.

Lentilweaver · 11/11/2024 11:13

Ok sharing. I am 52 and this is my forehead with nothing except Tret. No before photos and sorry about my undone roots and eyebrows!
As you can probably tell I am not white British which may make a bit of a difference.
