New thread. Woke (blooming cat) to find it’s nearly full.

Well done @mizu - thanks for sharing.

Most things had been snapped up before I got to Kilver early afternoon and there wasn’t much left of the women’s stock. However, I asked, and there should be some minor restocking for tomorrow if anyone wants to go.

I wanted a coat, but nothing doing😿

The last sample sale was June and there was loads of stuff available, even later in the day. (Staff said today that this weekend’s sale is on a smaller scale, so it wasn’t my imagination that there wasn’t much there).

The staff were very friendly and helpful. I got a tee shirt and one of the very thin hemp cardigans.

I also got some wrapping paper and another box of furoshiki gifts from the outlet section.

We are currently enjoying the M25…

Love hearing about sample sales at Kilver Court. It’s like some faraway mythical land when you live in Scotland!
It is finally getting a bit cooler here and I am thinking about winter coats. Has anyone tried the indigo pea coat or the navy hooded coat?

I've just bought the navy pea coat and it's lovely. I'm a small Toast 14 and bought the s/m. It comes up quite large. Its very cute and looks better and more flattering than on the website. If you are narrow on the shoulders it might not work but I've got swimmers shoulders 😂

I'll second that! It's such a treat to hear about the shop tours and sample sales and other far-off events. Also enjoying glimpses of the devoted spouse, Toast-style, one who is oblivious or indulgent toward inexplicable meandering detours about the country :)

Oh, that jumper's lovely, @Mizu! Definitely not there when I was there this morning - unless someone had it in a changing room

ScottishMouse · 25/10/2024 19:47

Thanks @PrincessofWells. I am not narrow of shoulder so I will see if I can try it on.

faustina · 25/10/2024 19:55

@mizu - that jumper is lovely! I think I had that on my Wishlist. Is it the British wool one?

Snowyowl78 · 25/10/2024 20:25

@ScottishMouse i also bought the indigo peacoat and i love it. It’s current in a sealed box waiting for colder weather. I would say s/m is plenty big enough for a toast 10/12/medium. It’s very similar to the previous shorter indigo coat from last year with the high collar.

ScottishMouse · 25/10/2024 20:31

Thanks @Snowyowl78 . I will definitely try it.

mizu · 25/10/2024 21:16

@faustina yes it is!

I was there almost first and took that jumper straight away! Despite my no knit talk to myself en route.

IlovePond · 25/10/2024 21:19

😹@Stravaig - my DH was surprisingly ok about our weird detour- and it didn’t add that much to our journey oddly enough - apart from the last awful bit of motorway! I was able to do a bit of shopping for my DSis whilst there too - so made it a bit more ‘worthwhile’.

I toyed with getting DH a woolly hat - they had some lovely men’s ones, and also some nice men’s scarves, but I wasn’t convinced he would wear either.

They also had lots of decorations in the outlet section - I was very tempted.

BTW: Toast KC will sell things over the phone to people who can’t get there in person, (not sample sale stuff, unfortunately). I think they still offer a Zoom consultation service by appointment on Wednesdays, (but am not 100% sure).

Countmeout · 26/10/2024 09:38

I, too, enjoy hearing about everyone’s visits to all the various Toast shops.

Any pics of the Kilver court finds? Excited to hear about your trips!

IlovePond · 26/10/2024 17:37

From the outlet section @Snowyowl78 plus the furoshiki gifts.

Snowyowl78 · 26/10/2024 17:44

@IlovePond ooh I almost bought some of those cushions a while back! Very nice.

IlovePond · 26/10/2024 17:45

Here’s the clothes I bought @Snowyowl78.

There was also one of the black linen dresses that I think someone on here bought in the summer sale and a pair of jersey dungarees and a pair of trousers, all of which fitted me, but I didn’t want to buy for the sake of it, so held back!

IlovePond · 26/10/2024 17:46

I have several of them @Snowyowl78 - they are lovely. This one and the garland are for DSis- I would have got a garland for me, but this was my favourite and the last one 😿

Snowyowl78 · 26/10/2024 17:46

@IlovePond i don’t recognise that tshirt, it looks lovely!

IlovePond · 26/10/2024 17:49

It called to me @Snowyowl78 - I really like it. I seem to be developing a thing for stripes🙀

I know the hemp cardigan was massively reduced last sale, (probably due to quality issues), but this sample is very nice and only £25!

I really can’t afford for it to shrink, though. Does anyone here have it and can advise on how it washes? Thanks

IlovePond · 26/10/2024 17:54

Btw: The garland was reduced to £13 and the cushion was £30. KC staff will sell outlet items over the phone. They had quite a few garlands, the paper stars and baubles - all reduced. The baubles were about £7, the garlands started at £9 and there was a set of two paper tree decorations for £7.

ScottishMouse · 26/10/2024 22:37

Tried on some coats in Edinburgh today but none of them worked for me sadly. The best one I tried was actually the men’s relaxed wool coat. I tried it in xs and it fit very well, but it wasn’t quite right and for the price it needed to be.
I also tried on the new Blundstone clogs and they were so comfy. I couldn’t decide if they would be too hard to walk in though (I have tricky feet and only ever wear my Birkenstock Boston clogs around the house as they feel hard to keep on when walking long distances). I also couldn’t decide if they are quite ugly to look at. Anyone have them?

Snowyowl78 · 27/10/2024 01:44

Did you know @ScottishMouse that Birkenstocks now do ‘London’ clogs which look just like the Boston’s but they are a full shoe? I am planning to try them

faustina · 27/10/2024 05:24

I wore my Bostons for a day in London once and they were so incredibly uncomfortable after a few hours. Maybe because too flat?

ScottishMouse · 27/10/2024 06:03

Interesting @Snowyowl78, I didn’t know this.
I find shoe shopping so tricky- I have always had issues with my feet, but perimenopause has given me even more foot problems.

triggers34 · 27/10/2024 08:58

@ScottishMouse
I don't have them but I want them . I'm waiting for the sale though.
