Fred and Mary and the twins were at Gråsten Palace for their summer holidays, along with Gustav and Carina, and were joined by Daisy as well. Christian is regent over this long weekend as Fred and Mary have gone abroad to continue their summer holiday. I don't know if the twins are with them.

The Danish royals have always done a summer holiday press photo session at Gråsten, it's a longstanding tradition of many, many years.

Having had another look I think it might actually be a voluminous skirt with slits between the panels, which could look like trousers. But I can't be sure without seeing a video.
