I find this interesting. I was born in 1970 in Spain, went to a convent school in a medium sized town, knew about veiled ladies pre Second Vatican Council but saw mi first one in London in the early 90s (a mass at the Brompton Oratory in London circa 1992).

I'm a bit older than you, and this was pre Vatican 2. After that, we stopped wearing them at Sunday Mass, but when we had the devotions at school, we still wore them. Although the nuns got rid of the wimple and floor length habits.

It looks like Camilla has found the holy grail of dresses - one with pockets.

That's a very dramatic look on Mary there. She looks like The Widow Donaldson, a woman of mystery who moves to a small town and soon starts plotting to snare the town's richest man.

It’s flag day, apparently, which I think is equivalent to our Remembrance Day.

I like her dramatic pearls, and that is a great hat.
