I think there was one a few months/weeks back but can't find it, so apologies if doubling up.
What perfume are you wearing today?
I will wear Atelier Cologne Trefle Pur in hope it will actually be warm today.

Ah thank you @MiaN I'm relieved it's not me after all! Oh well I'll just keep reapplying then and enjoy the scent until the little bottle is empty. Definitely not a repurchase unless a total bargain though.

Sabrina carpenter sweet tooth

IDontHateRainbows · 29/10/2024 19:32

Kayali vanilla 28 on this evening
This is the perfume that made me like vanilla

TheLongRider · 29/10/2024 23:54

I'm currently in the USA and I have a large Sephora on my doorstep. Any perfume recommendations that I can't get in the UK/EU?

MiaN · 30/10/2024 05:25

Angel's share for me today. I am in office but diwaili and Halloween celebrations are on with sweet treats on the menu I should be ok

MiaN · 30/10/2024 06:13

I definitely overdosed on this DNA last year. I have few samples/decant of Angel's share and we also have a bottle of Nocturnal Life and Zara Sand Dessert at Sunset and I have to say - they are bloody good dupes. They used same perfumer even for Sand Dessert.

If I test side by side, Angel's share is little boozier, more lasting - I will notice the difference. If I am just given one of them on paper stirp or skin I wouldn't be able to differentiate it myself. and yes, with Zara prices you get Zara experience - cheaper, not as fancy bottles, not as lasting, some of the nuances are missing but they nailed this one.

It's gorgeous cent and I will enjoy it today but we will go on a break until next fall when I will use few of the samples again.

I have sale agreed on few full bottle perfumes, delighted as I wasn't expecting it so quick!

Lurkingshark · 30/10/2024 10:47

My byredo mega discovery set has arrived and it is a treat. DH and I WFH and are working through the different scents and it is like an advent calendar (24 samples plus a vouchers to buy a full size). A complete bargain assuming you want to get a byredo scent. Thanks @IDontHateRainbows for the input to buy.

todays trial is 1996- very 70/80/90s, smells like my dad, I think is heavy patchouli. Quite full on for a bit but has settled down.

MiaN · 30/10/2024 18:57

Testing few of the BDK sample set again today
Vanilla Tonka doesn't work for me at all. I was expecting to love it based on the description. I wonder if it's the tobacco leaf?
Leather Vanille - love at least the first sniff. It's such elegant soft vanilla, this may turn to 10ml bottle purchase.

BakeOffRewatch · 30/10/2024 19:19

This thread is encouraging me to grab something different each time from the Liberty Scent With Love kit. This morning I used the Veronique Gabai Noire de Mai EDP. I liked it when I sprayed but not as much as others and I didn’t notice it through the day. Think I need to do what @MiaN does and do in the evening after wind down to see if I like it. But then if I don’t it’s stuck with me for the eve!

I hadn’t registered that there’s another Vyrao in the kit, it’s called Vyrao Free 00 EDP and I’d confused it in my head with Escentric Molecules 01 and thought it was a nothing smell. I will try that Vyrao tomorrow.

I will also try Bibbi Boy of June now it’s cold, i did not like it when we received it in the summer but think its another that could be cosy and snug in the cold.

QueefofSheena · 30/10/2024 20:35

I tried a sample of VB’s Portafino today. I wasn’t keen initially and then it seemed to fade really quickly. It was one of those card things so it may have been an old one. I’ve also tried San Ysidero Drive and quite liked it. I’m not sure I’d buy a full size though.

MiaN · 31/10/2024 06:25

@BakeOffRewatch even after bath & pre bed time I only spray little on arm or wrist not full on wear test and wash it off if I find the scent annoying. I wish LIberty deliver their perfume editions to Ireland, they sound excellent.

I asked DH to sniff the two BDK I tested both and he loves both but Vanilla Tonka little more.

VB Portofino is very strong to my nose. It seems the juice in the bottle is even stronger. I could not handle it at all in warm weather and it's the perfume easiest to overspray. Also when I spray it on clothes I don't wear often it stays forever, until next wash. I honestly wish it wasn't as strong as I am struggling to wear it so maybe it's the strip

I am working from home today and may go over the BDK set again. I think my from bottom to top personal preferences are

Pas Ce Soir extrait -> Pas Ce Soir -> Nuit De Sable -> Tubéreuse Impériale -> Creme de Cuir are my bottom 5 . First two are not for me, second two I would happily smell on someone else and use as room spray and the last one I would happily smell it on my husband and open to full day test. The rest that I have in the sample set I am interested in exploring more - 8 of them, it seems this brand appeals to my nose a lot

QueefofSheena · 31/10/2024 08:05

@Mian I’m just looking at the BDK sample sets now. Which size did you get?

MiaN · 31/10/2024 08:07

I got 15 with some repeats that I was most interested. However they seem to have a lot of missing samples right now so check that they have everything you wan tin stock

MiaN · 31/10/2024 08:24

I am not sure about Rouge Smoking. I really enjoy smelling it but I feel I wouldn't be able to handle wearing it for over an hour and the similarity to cherry coca cola is confusing me. I have 3 samples of it so I will have plenty to makeup my mind!

QueefofSheena · 31/10/2024 09:28

Thanks @MiaN I've got the tuberose one and like it. I’ve also got Gris Charnel that I haven’t tried yet.

MiaN · 31/10/2024 09:38

Tuberose is nice but I have from the givenchy l'interdit range - L'Interdit EDT, L'Interdit EDP, L'Interdit Intense, L'Interdit Rouge, L'Interdit Rouge Ultime, and L'Interdit Burning Neroli. I will probably get rid of Tuberose Noir as it's my least favourite.

I feel I am set when it comes to tuberose. I like Frederic Malle Carnal Flower but won't get full size as my husband has strong views on it.

Lurkingshark · 31/10/2024 10:56

New liberty scent bag - interested in peoples thoughts?

www.libertylondon.com/uk/scent-beauty-kit-000825876.html

MiaN · 31/10/2024 11:50

they won't deliver to Ireland. I would have been interested as it's hard to get some of the scents in it here

IDontHateRainbows · 31/10/2024 18:48

Wearing Witchy Woo by Vyrao tonight purely as it's Halloween! It's growing on me. Maybe ot just needed the right occasion.

QueefofSheena · 31/10/2024 20:56

I’m going to resist the Liberty kit, I have a few already and my collection is ridiculous at the moment. This thread isn’t helping 😁

BakeOffRewatch · 31/10/2024 21:39

Vyrao Free 00 disappears on me. I topped it up a couple of hours later and could smell a little bit of orange. I just looked at the Vyrao website and it says “This is a lighter, highly natural fragrance. Reapply or layer it with other Vyrao fragrances.” Doesn’t say that on the Liberty website. vyrao.com/products/free-00 I can still smell it a tiny bit now. The reviews say other people say it smells great, and sounds like people use it more for aromatherapy than as a cosmetic scent. I’ll ask DH if he can smell it. What do other people think of this one? I’ll use it on days I might go to work and want a nothing scent. But for my own enjoyment I like the strong Thameen Bravi and Vyrao Witchy Woo.

MiaN · 01/11/2024 06:35

I would just keep the sample and try it again in warmer weather. There are two from my BDK set that need that for certain and potentially 3rd. Villa Neroli - I am not biggest Neroli fan as it is but there is no hope I want to smell it right now, better chance in the summer. 312 Saint Honore - love the scent but I feel I will appreciate better in the late spring/summer. And maybe even Bouquet de Hongrie - right up my alley most of the year between October and 1st of January - I prefer stronger scents and only choose that type due to being office appropriate.

Gypsy Water Byredo sample/Commodity Gold for me today. They are supposed to be very similar. I have 30ml of commodity gold - need to decide keep or sell/gift. I also have 20ml Tocca Colette similar vibe

@QueefofSheena trying to go over what I have and having the goal of no more than 4 fragrances in one year (started 1st of October, one month down!) will help me buy less and think more before buying but bundles are hard to resist. The sample sets I will test one a month max, and will try to get 10ml travel or decant if I want something and only after that consider full size.

My BDK likes from least to best - top 5 could change.

Pas Ce Soir extrait -> Pas Ce Soir -> Nuit De Sable -> Tubéreuse Impériale -> Creme de Cuir ->Vila Neroli -> Rouge Smoking -> Velvet Tonka -> 312 Saint Honore -> Bouquet De Hongrie ->Gris Charnel Extrait -> Vanille Leather -> Gris Charnel

I have not tried Rouge Smoking Extrait and to be fair, apart from the bottom few that are just too busy for me I like all. I will likely get few 10ml at some point. In September I tested the female Parfums de Marley sample set plus few extra they send with the order and there was only one that appealed, I think they are more polarising.

My November sample set is Sana Jardin.

IDontHateRainbows · 01/11/2024 10:09

A wonderful working from home day today with no one else in the house so I can douse myself to my heart's content.
After not initially being sure about Witchy Woo I have decided I like it so just goes to show a scent can grow on you
I have the high 5 vyrao set ( 5 x 7.5ml sprays, decent sizes) can anyone recommend anything from that brand as the next to try?

JMAngel1 · 01/11/2024 14:11

I’ve cracked open the Angel Share today as 1st Nov. Still possibly too warm for it - it needs crisp weather to fully blossom.
