@Isabelle70 yes - the strap is adjustable and it looks great cross-body. It's going for its first outing to the pub on Friday.

Using my most used bag today. All black boy bag. Its 7 yrs old. A present from DH.

I have serious bag envy. It's my life's ambition to own a Chanel.

I was slightly obsessed with these bags, thankfully I am not anymore. I stopped buying other bags and put that money towards them. Also have a generous/fed up (of incessant chanel talk) DH. They were cheaper 7-10 yrs ago. Unfortunately, I couldn't personally justify the price now, all our money goes on DC and house.

Chanel is a tricky one. I think they are gorgeous and I do have one which was a present 10+ years ago. I would love another one in a different colour, but I know I hardly use the first one. it seems so incongruous with my everyday lifestyle to be using a bag that expensive. I didn’t even take it to Paris as I wasn’t sure about the areas we were visiting and whether it would make us a target for theft. So it lives in its box and comes out twice a year if that.
If they still cost about £2k I would just enjoy it and use it until it gets too worn. It’s a bit like wearing an expensive diamond bracelet every day and worrying about the clasp coming undone and it getting lost. I don’t know if anyone else feels the same.

@narniabusiness that's a good point actually. I've wanted one for so long that I never stopped to think when I'd use it. Whereas my LVs, Mulberrys and Guccis can go anywhere with me.

Yeh they're too small. Taxi bags.
I wandered around a department store looking at bags yesterday. I asked the guy in LV how many they sell a day and he said between 10 and 15. I found that interesting. They didn't seem to have the neverfull on display. Is it too copied? Do they still make it? There were loads of other LV bags, some really lovely ones 😍

@narniabusiness I bought my Chanel Boy bag last year and I use it worry free here in the Channel Islands. However, I was going to use it for weekend trips to the UK until I read a post on MN about being followed so have decided it's not worth the risk.

Thank you @londonmummy1966. By happenstance I am at a work thing in SW1 on 16th and might just book. I'm a bit miffed you have to.pay £15 to go and look though! Is it fairly well organised and peaceful or a bit of a scrum?

I went to a Mulberry sample sale in 2020 days before lockdown (they were handing out hand sanitizer!) and it was pretty well-organised with a lot of good stock. I bought one handbag and some smart tailored shorts.

I remember having to book but I don’t remember a fee! Do you at least get the fee taken off any purchase?

@RosesAndHellebores - where is the £15 coming from? I have general membership at Showcase which is free and the entry fee is usually nil or £3max.

Sorry just realised that 16th is the priority membership day hence the £15 fee - I just wait for the general sessions on subsequent days

Today numero un nano came out. Inspired by all the beautiful green bags on this thread!

I have had this now for 2-3 yrs and remember being blown away by the quality when received. It's not used heavily but has held up very well given the price paid for it.
