I should have bought the dress - please help.

I foolishly had a wobble and didn't buy the dress and it's now sold out everywhere (I can see) in my size 16/18.

Does anyone have any other ideas for tracking it down. It's a Monsoon bridal dress. Camilla

If you're going to pay a seamstress, why not get her to make it from scratch? John Lewis do lovely fabrics and she'll enjoy the challenge.

I maybe should have mentioned I have lost a considerable amount of weight and cannot bring myself to buy a size 22, sorry 😞

This is for a vow renewal. My initial dress was made by a seamstress and it was a horrendous experience the whole way through and I can't even look at our wedding photos without shamefully feeling a little sad. Even though it was a joyous day a considerable length of time ago.

I wouldn't be doing anything at all but due to some rather serious health issues, my kids want us to celebrate.

I’d buy the 14 and the 22. 14 might be just right, if not, get the 22 altered to fit. I bought my wedding dress 2 sizes too big and got it fitted.

I'm sure I was once told that you can get a dress or clothing taken up or down 2 sizes without it altering the cut and fit so as other PP's have suggested I'd go for the 22 and reduce.
I know it's psychological that you don't want to buy that size but just look at it like you're buying additional fabric that allows it to be perfectly adapted to your shape by a skilled professional.
You're not a size 22 you're just buying the dress you love and being clever about it and it's likely to fit you better than just off the leg

There's also loads of heavily discounted gowns on there. I was so bloody indecisive I bought 3 different dresses and sold them all on here after the wedding.

Is it worth calling the Bluewater store to see if they have the dress in stock in your size, and if they do whether you could pay over the phone and have them send it to you?

This, their sizes are extremely generous

That dress wouldn’t look nice if it was too big

Also the size 8 the model is wearing looks pretty roomy on her.
