Nude or black shoes with this dress

Stumpedasatree · 20/01/2024 10:14

I am wearing this dress to an evening do, probably with some sort of shawl or coverup as it won’t be warm.

i have some black platform sandals that don’t look too bad with it, but not sure if nude may be better? And any ideas what to coverup with?! I’ve not been to anything like this in years 😫

Definitely strappy shoes, not platforms, either black, nude or metallic

Divebar2021 · 21/01/2024 08:35

Oh actually I just thought leopard print…. I’d probably throw that into the mix.

ManateeFair · 21/01/2024 11:39

I personally think nude shoes are unbearably naff and dated. I’d go with something metallic. Or leopard.

UnderBed · 21/01/2024 18:03

I am a shoe fanatic and have hundreds of pairs of shoes. But none in nude. Nude shoes for me are just the worst possible colour and remind me of the blandest Kate Middleton look. I would go with silver or gold!

Edited

Or zebra!

Viviennemary · 23/01/2024 00:09

I think gold or silver would be better than black or nude.

Stumpedasatree · 23/01/2024 10:12

@VanellopeVonSchweetz99 those are lovely too! I have just ordered them, and a pair of gold and silver sandals so will try them all for the best match.

You could consider metallic pewter or silver sandals as well.

justasking111 · 23/01/2024 12:23

I'd go metallic.

Have you got to walk travel in them or will it be car to bar shoes ?

justasking111 · 23/01/2024 12:33

The thing with metallics is that you can wear them all the year round and they don't date. So they'll be useful for years

Tighginn · 23/01/2024 12:49

Shoes, bags, accessories, dark October to March, light, April to September.

Dance, and walk probably.

Another vote for nude. What a gorgeous dress.

That's 2 clothing items I've seen on this site in the past 2 days. I might have an event to go to in November, but apart from that I really don't need fancy dresses.

Definitely more practical then 😊

silverbubbles · 23/01/2024 15:13

definitely a nude colour or gold/silver.

not black

zendeveloper · 23/01/2024 15:27

I'd go with most lurid fuchsia you could find

minipie · 23/01/2024 16:34

Ooh fuchsia would be great. Or bright red actually.

EnjoyTheMushrooms · 23/01/2024 19:06

First choice: teal suede court shoes in the same shade of the dress

second choice: navy or black for winter, nude for spring/summer. I could be swayed by a gold strappy sandal for S/S too.

Hi

Newtothis4 · 23/01/2024 23:48

I'm really interested in moving to America (especially the Hollywood area) but not sure how to go about it

I work in finance in London, have done so for the past 3 years, and would ideally like to continue working in finance in America

Has anyone here ever lived/worked in America?

Great suggestion! Or a contrasting colour. I wore a dress not dissimilar colour- though more teal - last summer with red shoes with a peep toe and a dark yellow Marc Jacobs clutch bag. It worked really well.

Black, but then I hate nude shoes.
