Nude or black shoes with this dress

I am wearing this dress to an evening do, probably with some sort of shawl or coverup as it won’t be warm.

i have some black platform sandals that don’t look too bad with it, but not sure if nude may be better? And any ideas what to coverup with?! I’ve not been to anything like this in years 😫

Absolutely some sort of metallic. I think silver or pewter with greeny teal goes beautifully, but gold works too.

Black platforms would look to dark and clunky, stay away from platforms altogether as they are very dated and not elegant, go for a nice delicate stiletto

Would something like this work? I have wide feet and probably won’t be able to walk in stiletto heels so need a wedge or block heel, or maybe a court shoe. I do need height, flats will just make me look tiny.

I think those are a bit stodgy looking.

What kind of event is it, OP?

That might have some bearing on what you choose.

The Dune ones are possible, my one reservation might be the bar across the foot; something without a bar like that would give a longer line.

Gold, definitely. The Esska ones mentioned above are reputed to be very comfortable- and the platform is good if you need height (also helps with comfort)

@VenusClapTrap sorry I meant I wouldn’t be able to walk in proper stilletto type heels. Love the Niabi ones you’ve posted but a bit over what I can spend unfortunately.

Argh nude shoes are never ok! They're so dated. Metallics are a much better neutral as others have said, or embrace a colour block approach and get eg red or hot pink with a matching clutch or earrings.
