Some empties:

Pixi Glow Mud glycolic acid & aloe vera cleanser - 135ml. I wasn’t expecting to like this, thought it might be stripping, but it was actually pretty good. Left my skin feeling really soft. I only used it a couple of times a week though, not AM and PM daily as it suggests on the packaging.

Tree Hut Tropic Glow body scrub - 510g. I like these scrubs. This wasn’t my favourite scent, but it was fine.

Bath & Body Works body lotion in Love Always Wins - 236ml. My favourite body lotion formula. This smelled good, a bit more subtle than some B&BW scents.

The Natural Goat’s Milk Company hand cream - 125ml. A random TK Maxx purchase. It was fine, did the job.

Bare Minerals lip gloss-balm in Heart - liked this, it felt nice on, lasted pretty well and was a nice colour on me.

Burts Bees lip balm in dragonfruit lemon.

@Experiment627 How is the Blowout Professor’s haircare working out for you?

Experiment627 · 23/06/2024 19:35

@Fraaahnces unfortunately it has not been the miracle currently I was hoping for. The duo have not added an extra day - it is still wash = day 1, do not wash = day 2, wash = day 3. I am vair disappointed 😭

So basically I can get same results with a way cheaper shampoo & conditioner.

I did try the Glaze bond repair treatment today and my hair is lovely and soft - so that might be another go to - like the Loreal Elvive Bond Repair pre-shampoo (but I use after shampooing).

I had super greasy hair when going through peri. My hairdresser said to blow dry my hair immediately after washing using thermal protection then blast the roots with dry shampoo (Batsiste) before using any other products. Once your scalp gets greasy it’s kind of too late for shampoo. She explained that it doesn’t clean your hair but it prevents the goop from escaping the scalp. Hope this tip helps. It worked for me.

Experiment627 · 24/06/2024 16:40

Thanks @Fraaahnces my hair has been this way since puberty... and I am kinda too lazy to blow dry 🙈

I have an empty:

  1. Aldi Lacura muscle soak clary sage & sea minerals - a dead ringer for Radox. Love the teal colour.

@Experiment627 I’ve been washing my hair every day since I was a teenager. I could maybe do every other day now I’m older (and my hair is highlighted), but definitely couldn’t leave it any longer than that. Luckily I’ve got straight, fairly well behaved hair which I can leave to air dry, but it’s still annoying. The ends get quite dry these days too, so might have to try that bond builder you recommended.

I’m currently trying the Philip Kingsley moisture balancing shampoo and conditioner, which is supposed to be for greasy roots and dry ends. It seems fine so far, but no miracle cure as yet!

Experiment627 · 24/06/2024 19:06

@CorneliaStreet thanks for mentioning about the PK shampoo - I have wondered about that for ages. Think I will stick to trying out less expensive shampoos for now - I mean like the Timotei one was so good and so cheap. Very relieved that it is not just me. My hair is also fine when air dried now that I have found a serum that defines my waves and does not add grease.

Just seen this nice offer on Space NK - well nice if you feel like spending £45 on hair care products that is. I'm still miserably on a buying ban - nearly 8 months now - but thought someone else may like it

Free Haircare Gift with Purchase | Space NK

For a limited time only, get a free haircare gift worth over £75 when you spend £45.

@CorneliaStreet completely off topic but how good is Taylor's new album!!!

OP posts:
CorneliaStreet · 25/06/2024 21:51

@Experiment627 it’s gone straight into my no. 3 album ranking spot (after Reputation and Folklore). Can’t believe she put out 31 new tracks whilst in the middle of a massive tour. She must never sleep!

Experiment627 · 26/06/2024 05:45

Well @CorneliaStreet as she says she "can do it with a broken heart". I have been wondering how hard it has been for her to return to Blighty. I am said that it did not work out with Joe... that said some of her best songs ever have come from that break up!

I’ve officially run out of shower gel! Stash has gone down loads and I’m so pleased to be getting through it. Got a tonne of skincare to use still but progress is progress! Nice to be able to buy myself something I actually need.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 26/06/2024 10:23

I have some empties.

Elemis body oil. You have to put it in hot water before use to melt the oil. It was a nice body oil but the melting was a bit of a faff plus the red coating started to peel so I ended up with flakes of red stuff in the sink and sometimes on me. I would have preferred a tub and melt in the hand.

Had Labo Bit C. Absolutely love this. Thanks again @Fraaahnces for the recommendation.

Biossance Squalene + copper peptide hyaluronic acid. I quite like this.

Nivea soft. This is what I bring if I'm away hand luggage only. I use on my face and body so I don't have to bring multiple tubes. I like it.

Boots ingredients collagen serum. Not great. Not very moisturising.

The Inkey List Omega Water Cream. I liked this. It was surprisingly moisturising for something so lightweight. A good summer cream.

Hawthorn Rejuvenate Face Balm. I love this. It's so moisturising as a night cream. More a winter one though.

Well done 😁

listsandbudgets · 26/06/2024 17:58

@sallyanne33 That's a huge achievement if you're anything like me. I sometimes feel like I've got enough shower gel to fill a swimming pool - I've currently got 7 on the go and I don't even know how many unopened.

Anyway some empties (non of them shower gel!)

Clarins Lotus treatment oil - Brilliant product will RP

Barbara Strum factor 50 sundrops. Really liked these but unfortunately they are £££ so probably not an RP

Dizziak deep conditioner - good but not hugely better than any others I've tried. smelt nice though

PK elastiser x 2 Been using these up as conditioner - probably not an RP but sure they'll wriggle their way back into my life regardless!!

Simple baby moisturising shampoo I am currently on a buying ban and so scrabbling about in cupboaards using up shampoo. This did a surprisingly good job given it's baby shampoo and my youngest is now 11!!

This works sleep roll on thingy - not sure it did work but it was nice smell

Bar of soap - Someone gave me this as a joke - it was rose with glittter and had "Dirty Bitch" moulded onto it. I gave some toiletries to refuse last year but decided this one would certainly not be appropriate. It's taken me months to get through it

listsandbudgets · 26/06/2024 18:04

Photo . Just noticed I wrote the date in the soap when I opened it sonits been about 5 months to use it

80/100

My skincare stash has just grown - a mini Korean Beauty haul has arrived 🙂

42/100

Margiela Replica - lazy Sunday morning

Fresh pleasant but not a rebuy, it's sort of generic laundry fresh, soapy fresh.

The stash will increase as I needed to buy shampoo so obvs went for the Space NK GWP for a £45 spend.

@Peridot1 just wanted to thank you again for sharing the footage stretch with me. I think it is defo making a difference 💜💜💜 my podiatrist referral came through so should be fitted for orthotics in July. I saw a chiropractor who told me that whilst the barefoot trainers could br good for mild PF, my tootsies are in such a bad way they need mucho support.

Well done on the shower gel usage @sallyanne33

@Experiment627 as someone with EDS I can’t tell you how much starting with the feet helps. I think the podiatrist has eased more pain than any other specialist in my lifetime. Best of luck!!!

Peridot1 · 27/06/2024 08:41

@Experiment627 - I’m so glad it helped! And yes your pelvis could definitely be affecting it. Mine goes out of whack too. My own fault as I sit with my legs crossed all the time. I see a chiropractor every couple of months now to re-align everything.

For footwear I have to be careful and can’t wear anything completely flat. I find Birkenstocks good. And Fit Flops. They have flip flops that look very like Haivanas but have enough arch support. I live in them in the house in summer and Fit Flop slippers in winter. I usually buy my slippers in the sale at the end of winter ready for the next winter. Saves a bit as they aren’t cheap.

@listsandbudgets - I’m feeling stressed just thinking of multiple opened shower gels! I only use one at a time.

I have about four or five unopened shower gels. And I counted soaps. 18 bars of soap.

@OchonAgusOchonOh i always take Nivea Soft if I’m going hand luggage only too. It’s such a nice moisturiser. And my mum used Nivea a lot so the smell always reminds me of her.

ItookYourJob · 27/06/2024 10:17

Bubble up scrub - strange smell and too creamy.

Organic Shop scrub - smells like propolis, I liked it.

Sebastian dark oil shampoo - i think this is it! Loved everything about it, will rp.

Balance me cream and cleanser minis - I think they are old.. Very odd smell. I don’t want to risk using them on my face.

Pharmacy eye cream - very light and nice to use. No dramatic results though.

Ghost lipgloss - smallest lipgloss in the world. 1.5 ml.

Rimmel brow pencil - too thick and soft.

Glamglow mud mask - really like this one, makes visible difference.

Glow recipe drops - these make skin look bronzed. Not my thing.

Biossance toner - loved it. Light, not sticky. Would like to try other products from this brand.

Pureology color fanatic - My second or third one. Recommended by Blowout professor. Not sure if it actually does anything but it feels light and smells nice. @Experiment627 do you still use this? I’m a bit disappointed by some of his recommendations lately..

@CorneliaStreet lovely K-beauty haul! Would be interested to hear how you get on with the Heimish balm, it's on my list to try.

I succumbed to temptation and ordered a few things from Beauty Pie yesterday, all these empties have meant I finally have room for some new things!
