Some empties:

Huggies wipes: staple, also 100 points in Yuka

Nivea original lipbalm: lovely, works a treat, for my lips, for the hands, countless uses.

Sanex biomeprotect deodorant. Does not irritate skin. Not very effective tbf. Smelly armpits. Won’t rp

Sure maximum protection antiperspirant. Works wonders for me. HG for now. The last bits of the bottle are difficult to get.

Rituals of mehr body foam to oil. Lovely fragrance, a treat to apply. However, there was a lot left in the container after the air in the can stopped pumping the cream. I used a metal punch and a hammer to drill a hole and take the last bits out. Won’t recommend trying it at home. I would use just the oil or the cream, not this format anymore.

Protect extra sanitizer. Does not sting, most of it spilled in the cabinet. It feels just like water so doesn’t feel it’s doing much. Wont rp.

Loccitane amande milk concentrate. Smells amazing and I love the texture. Shame it is so expensive.

sisley intense anti-aging hidration. Too little a sample to notice results. Nice comfortable texture and it smells herbal, like lavender from the plant directly. Too expensive to commit.

Matey bubble bath. Good bubbles and lovely smell. Would rp

Shower mate calendula body wash. Smells okeish, took a long time to finish. From TKmaxx. Won’t rp

Sanex expert shower gel. Nice to skin and nourishing. Love the smell, does the job

I saw the same calendula wash at our TKMaxx. I nearly bought it to try. Tbh, I love the Italian citrus ones, and can’t get past them.

I have a couple of skincare empties that I won’t repurchase…
Nivea Cellular 3 Zone Lifting Serum. I was given this at a work function. Smells like raspberry syrup and is just as sticky. I didn’t enjoy this one.
APPLB EGF Serum. From what I gather, APPLB is KNeauty’s answer to The Ordinary. This one is good but it makes me “feel” my skin. IYKWIM. Not itchy, stingy or sticky, but kind of crawly. Probably means it’s doing something, but I am unsure. (I have three more of these as they were a GWP).
Jumiso Snail Mucin Peptide Serum. Giant 140ml bottle. Not sure it did anything that Hyaluronic Acid doesn’t do better.

my first perfumes were anais anais, Lou Lou paloma Picasso. Good times.

Fraaahnces · 05/06/2024 07:34

I loved Paloma Picasso. The bottle looked so sophisticated too! I also adored Fendi Theorema which smelled like thick marmalade. Nothing has ever come close.

I’ve just started that snail serum @Fraaahnces

Fraaahnces · 05/06/2024 14:06

@OchonAgusOchonOh - snail mucin is very healing and soothing. I don’t really need a product that addresses this. It is very hydrating and calming, for sure. I guess I wanted more oomph from the peptides but this is not really an anti-aging product. That was my fault.

PomsRun · 05/06/2024 14:25

A few more from me.
I like the Aurelia cell repair face oil.

The rest were average.

Ah @PomsRun that cell repair oil is an all-time HG for me.

I like that rituals scrub as well if it's the rose one lol (always the florals).

Old perfume....ohhhh. Body Shop White Musk anyone? I loved Chanel 19 and Miss Dior (or maybe Diorissimo?). My mum wore chanel 5 but very rarely.

Empties update:

143) Wishful Honey Whip Moisturiser - really liked this. Nice light consistency, but still very moisturising

144) Living Proof Dry Shampoo - like this but not enough to make me want to buy it over cheaper options

145) Verso Hydration Serum - weird smell. Not keen

146) Dematologica Vit C Serum - liked this. Think I have another in the stash

147) Medik8 Retinol - it was ok. I'm not a massive fan of the oily consistency

Total 147/200

Some empties from me.

Olay Retinol body wash. Bought it in the US last year as someone recommended it. Was nice. But I really don’t think retinol in a product you wash straight off is very useful.

Garnier body lotion. An oldie but a goodie. Won’t RP just yet as have many other body lotions to use up.

CeraVe body lotion. I prefer the Garnier if I was buying another lotion.

Jordan Samuel Skin After Show cleanser. Really liked this. But have quite a few cleansers to get through so not planning a rebuy just yet.

I have a Kayali perfume on my list to try as a possible dupe for Stella - but have not yet found a tester.

I ordered The Blowout Professor's (LIVE LOVE LOCKS) weightless shampoo and conditioner... completely very expensive as shipping was SOOOOOO much and the products themselves are not cheap BUT I am so excited to use them!!! Following his advice I have managed to go from washing my hair every day to now every other day - this promises to add on more days!!!!

I have a few empties/pass ons:

  • REN cleansing gel Rosa Centifolia: I think this full size came in the M&S Mother's Day beauty box last year. I was not a fan of the rose smell (real kind of rose that you smell in the garden smell) but it was quite soothing on my face.
  • L'oreal Elvive Hydra Pure oil control scalp serum: to be applied 15 minutes prior to washing. Once you apply this you HAVE to wash your hair - it leaves it even greasier than when you started! I saw no dramatic improvement in my oily roots from using this.
  • Natural plant quintessence foot patch: got these in my stocking. Pack of 20 patches - will be passing on as I am just done with using these! There are 6 patches left. Do not think they did anything for my body and they are SO messy! They are supposed to dispel toxins, maintain beauty, relax muscles & tendons and yadda yadda yadda. I have excruciating plantar fasciitis at the mo - saw NO improvement. Have moved on to castor oil packs.

@Experiment627 - let me know how you go with the shampoo and conditioner. I saw he’s released them the other day.

Experiment627 · 06/06/2024 10:51

@Fraaahnces I will!!! I am SO excited to try it out!

Plantar fasciitis is no fun. @Experiment627 Try freezing a water bottle and wrap it in a cloth. Then you roll it while sitting with your foot. Or use a tennis ball and stretch your calfs

I really liked the face oil. The one I’m now using just seems to sit on my face ….

Experiment627 · 06/06/2024 20:02

@Thereislightattheendofthetunnel thanks for the tips. I have had it on and off for years. I actually made an appointment with a chiropractor to see if getting aligned will help all my aches and pains (I have bursitis too in my hips as well as a tooth/nerve problem). I do daily yoga to stretch out what I can & have recently changed to barefoot shoes... I am also trying castor oil packs. I will do the bottle thing again... just still feels a bit cold for that 🥶

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 06/06/2024 21:48

@Experiment627 might be worth trying. Hope you get better soon. Now that it comes to mind… Have you tried specially made insoles? My husband had it and with them it went away. Expensive but worth it.

Experiment627 · 06/06/2024 21:52

@Thereislightattheendofthetunnel thanks xxx I probably need orthotics- am on waiting list to see a podiatrist. But hopefully chiropractor will have a holistic approach & I am a few clicks away from no pain 🙏🏼

OP posts:
Peridot1 · 06/06/2024 22:41

@Experiment627 i had really bad PF for a while too. I went to a podiatrist and she recommended a massage that really seemed to help.

sit on a chair and raise your foot up on to the opposite knee. Pull back the big toe of the foot on your knee. Feel along the instep/arch of that foot. Massage out the tight tendon in the arch. It really helped me. You can do it as often as you like.

i also made sure to do it before I got out of bed every morning. And generally stretched my legs and feet and rotated my ankles before getting up each morning.

i find FitFlop shoes a life saver. I had moulded orthotics made but don’t need them now once I’m really careful about what shoes I wear. I always make sure I have arch support. I wear FitFlop wellies, trainers for walking, slippers and flip flops. I also find Birkenstocks good.

Experiment627 · 07/06/2024 05:18

Thank you so much @Peridot1 - I will definitely try this stretch 💜

A few more

Rituals of Dao shower oil - Liked this at first but went off it as it went down.

Nivea Nourishing handcream with almond oil Pretty good handcream. Lives by my kitchen sink for ages will probably RP eventually

PK elasticizer Still working my way through a pile of thes using them as conditioner. Think I've got one left and a tiny sample as well

Cien dry shampoo sweet pink Love this. Really effective. Smells beautifully flowery and cheap what's not to like on those mornings you wake up too late for more than a very quick shower

Augustinus Bader rich cream - I can not understand how they con people into paying so much for this stuff. I've had similar results from No. 7 to be honest. Happy to receive in GWP or advent calanders or maybe kids but won't be going out to buy it

REN facial cleansing gel - Loved this. Very cooling, very effective and a fresh smell. Will RP

72/100

^^ for clarity happy to receive the AB cream in KITS I definitely do not expect my kids to go out and buy it for me- I'd be questioning the level of pocket money I was giving them if that was the case!!

Experiment627 · 07/06/2024 15:10

I have an empty to report:

  • Provence Beauty retinol & probiotic nourishing eye serum: I did not notice any miracle results. Very hard to get out of the pipette thing. Towards the end I was using on full face.

On another note, I saw that beauty of Joseon is now in Boots, although the range is still small.
