@LolaSmiles Both of my DDs were potion makers. Then they became the unwelcome guests known as “Not me” and “I don’t know” who were friends of my eldest and “Yucky Chuckie” who was my (very entertaining) younger daughter’s scapegoat - these guests always visited just prior to me discovering something I needed had run out or disappeared completely. I ended up writing an eviction notice for those guests.

@Buster27 smelling of cat pee is not a good look!

Welcome @LilyJessie!

CB have a GWP which isn't the best however there's only a £75 minimum spend.

Some empties:

Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun Rice - 50ml. Really good. It felt really soothing (probably the rice) and I didn’t need a separate moisturiser as it’s a bit richer than some of the other Asian sunscreens I’ve tried. It wasn’t greasy at all though, it just left my skin feeling soft with a bit of a glow.

Q&A azelaic acid serum - 30ml. Also loved this. It made my skin feel instantly softer and more hydrated. I suspect the percentage of azelaic acid may be on the low side though (on the basis that it usually is when they don’t tell you).

Garnier Ultimate Blends coconut oil conditioner - 400ml. Didn’t feel this did much for my hair. Much prefer the honey conditioner from this line.

Philip Kingsley Elasticiser Booster - 20ml. This is the conditioner rather than the pre-wash mask. Pretty meh, seems way over priced for what it is.

First Aid Beauty ultra repair cream - 28.3g. Fine, but again overpriced for what seems to be a pretty basic, unscented body lotion.

This Works Sleep Plus pillow spray - 10ml. I would never buy this, but happy enough to use when it turns up in beauty boxes (which it seems to do all the time).

The BOJ sunscreen is my fave Winter one. Their Sun Essence is divine too. Because it’s summer here in Aus and as hot and humid as Hades’ armpits, I am using some more “typical” K sunscreens. (Purito, Numbuzin & Abib.) I think as I am aging my skin is starting to need a bit more hydration and moisturising so might switch back to BOJ.

Some empties from a couple of weeks ago. Sorry the picture is sideways!

Medik8 Crystal Retinal 6. Didn’t actually finish it but it’s been open a long time so decided it had had its day. I didn’t use it regularly enough to see any difference. Not planning to repurchase as have a couple of other retinols.

Farmacy Green Clean cleansing balm. Really like this and will probably repurchase at some stage when stash is reduced.

Beauty Pie Super Healthy Skin moisturiser - quite liked it but am not a member of BP now so no plans to replace.

Votary Super Seed facial oil. Quite like this but there was a hole in the rubber bit of the pipette and it went a bit funny and because I left it for a long time the product went off so it was a get rid rather than used up.

@Peridot1 Farmacy has been available here in Australia for donkey’s years. For some reason they have never imported their famous Green Clean. I have to admit that I am very curious about it.

Peridot1 · 26/01/2024 14:29

@Fraaahnces - I had tried a small pot I got somewhere and liked it so bought this one when I was in NY in Nov. It’s a nice consistency and not too thick and gloopy.

CinnamonCoffee · 26/01/2024 14:39

@Fraaahnces it's pretty much the same as Heimish just more expensive and less product

CorneliaStreet · 26/01/2024 15:15

I love Green Clean. I’ve had my eye on the Heimish balm for a while, will definitely give it a try now.

Peridot1 · 26/01/2024 15:38

Will add the Heimish to my wish list to try that.

LolaSmiles · 26/01/2024 20:03

I've emptied some conditioner and used up the last of some powder this week. I seem to have quite a lot of almost empties, which I've never got round to finishing before opening the replacement. This month I'm trying to work through them.

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 26/01/2024 21:10

I have used up a wax roll on that I opened ages ago. It was a chocolate smell. I can’t remember the brand but it’s one of those professional type of cartridges that beauty technicians use to wax people’s legs.

Fraaahnces · 27/01/2024 01:23

@CinnamonCoffee - thanks for that! I can’t see myself spending $65+ to buy a bloody cleansing gel again. (The Glow Recipe I bought the other day with my gift card was $70 and it’s absolutely not my favorite!)

BlindurErBóklausMaður · 27/01/2024 07:36

Hello! May I join you? I spend a lot of time on S&B and I think I was maybe on one of your earlier threads.

I have one full drawer of stash (and it's a big drawer) and dd (now at uni in the UK, I'm in Italy) has left behind about 4 shoeboxes of Look Fantastic Beauty Box stuff which I'm sorting.

I love reading about your empties and recommendations and hopefully posting with you will motivate me to use some of the stuff up! (Though having read your glowing reviews about Hada Labo I'm probably going to get another bottle. I did have one a couple of years ago)

CinnamonCoffee · 27/01/2024 16:51

@Fraaahnces yeah it's really not worth it. Green clean is lovely but you can literally get two Heimish balms and still have change left over

More empty products...
Ouai detox shampoo
Innisfree dewy jelly cream
2x Dennis Gross boxes of peels
Tatcha rice wash

I have some empties too, as usual mostly wash stiff as we go through it quite quickly.

Dove deeply nourishing body wash. Smells lovely, quite thick and creamy and all in all a good budget option. It isn’t drying. I have several at home.

Lacura almond shower oil. I was really excited to try this as it is a dupe of L’occitane almond shower oil. Well, I was really disappointed. The smell is awful and so far from the original. It is quite thick so you need to use a lot of water for it to foam. Sadly I have another one but I won’t be repurchasing this. On the other hand, the scrub from the same brand smells nicer and it’s more enjoyable to use.

Fluido remodelante Deliplus. Bought in Spain. This is supposed to be an anticelulite cream. It’s too think and runny and didn’t do anything for me. The smell was acceptable though. Won’t rp.

Calcot spa de stress body balm. Smelt nice but it was too thick. I think the water started to evaporate from it. I won’t rp.

Mason and Miller shower gel. Okeish but I have managed to finish the shower gels. I still have several shampoos and those are terrible.

@Thereislightattheendofthetunnel - I got the Lacura body scrub too and agree with you. It is very nice.

sallyanne33 · 27/01/2024 21:11

@CinnamonCoffee Is that Ouai Shampoo any good? It’s on my wish list but can’t bear to spring for it at nearly £30 a bottle.

CinnamonCoffee · 28/01/2024 02:10

@sallyanne33 it's nice enough for a clarifying shampoo. Perhaps try and get it with a discount code or a smaller size to try? I'm sure they do 89ml. Or look on Vinted? It depends what you want from a shampoo really

CorneliaStreet · 28/01/2024 09:14

Hello @BlindurErBóklausMaður. I’m really tempted by Hada Labo talk too. I’m currently using the blue tranexamic acid lotion and it’s really effective, but I’ve never tried the hyaluronic acid version.

My skincare stash absolutely does not need adding to, particularly as I have just ordered the Beauty Bay hydration box which seems to have about 20 products in it!

I treated myself to LaMer lip balm and some Dermalogica microexfoliant so got the skin care kit free. It’s great - lovely bag, best hand cream, loads of stuff to try.
