To get a boob job or not?

Beanscene · 14/11/2023 22:32

Debating on a boob job, to get bigger and firmer boobs. Currently have teabag small boobs. Has anyone had a boob job.. If so was it worth it? Having never had large boobs not sure if I would like how they feel. Never liked the size of my boobs and effects my confidence..

Six times you've used the word 'boobs' in that very short op.

SylvieLaufeydottir · 14/11/2023 22:36

Not.

Wasted money. Unnecessary surgical risk. Have to get them redone in future. Big boobs get in the way and limit the clothes you can wear. You can look much classier without them, and you don't need big fake tits to be sexy.

Ponderingwindow · 14/11/2023 22:38

Not

you have a healthy body. Learn to love it. It’s a huge privilege. Why put yourself through the risk of surgery and introduce foreign materials into your system? It will probably be fine, but what if it’s not?

PrincessHoneysuckle · 14/11/2023 22:39

I had mine done at age 27 I was very happy with the results but had them redone 11 years later as pregnancy had effected the shape.
If you're done with having kids or don't want them then I'd say go for it but do proper research on your surgeon.

Badatthis · 14/11/2023 22:42

I wouldn't bother. I had big boobs and then bigger ones through pregnancy and now tiny much smaller deflated ones after 6 years of breastfeeding (2 DC in a row). I don't really notice the difference though.

Loubelle70 · 14/11/2023 22:43

Theres a massive pressure on women to have big boobs to feel sexy or desired.
Id say no. My niece had hers done...she had big problems after, lob sided boobs, then we had to fight for another procedure to correct them... then she was rushed to hospital with infection and given IV antibiotics. She was very young..24. she has a lot of unnecessary scars....3 ops...so she has to cover up anyway...she wishes she had never bothered. Not all are like this but theres more negatives than positives.
Its all about what others think isnt it... expectations of women to look like what the patriarchy expects women to be.
Get a good padded bra and don't get op... unless it is 100% for you and not because of societies expectations

zurala · 14/11/2023 22:43

I had mine done in 2002, went from less than AA to a D. I don't regret it at all and have had no issues at all. I would have gone a bit smaller, with hindsight, but at the time everyone advised me to go with the bigger of the two implants I was offered. It's not an issue though, one that a C would have been better (and what I was aiming for but it's not an exact science).
Get the best surgeon you can afford, and plan well for afterwards as it hurts and you can't move much.

sipsqueak · 14/11/2023 22:47

I will never understand people who want to obtain large breasts surgically. But that's just me.

xyz111 · 14/11/2023 22:47

I have very small boobs and wanted a boob job, but was too much of a coward. Knowing my luck, I'd get an infection, or reject them or something like that. 🙄. I think having smaller boobs nowadays isn't seen as "bad" as 10 years ago. Loads of people have had them removed, like Victoria Beckham. So many celebrities have smaller boobs, and they're still successful! And then amount of padded bras there are nowadays! I will never ever love my boobs, but I've learnt to accept them.

CampervanKween · 14/11/2023 22:51

Why would you risk your health for something so shallow? Plus they're not even fashionable anymore. They look so fake when you see someone with them. Plastic surgery is unnecessary and dangerous.

MrsMoastyToasty · 14/11/2023 22:53

I have H cup boobs naturally Iam also fat.. Those puppies are HEAVY!

sipsqueak · 14/11/2023 22:54

@xyz111 good to know that women with small breasts can still be successful...

Beanscene · 14/11/2023 22:56

Reading everyone's posts has confirmed my thoughts and hesitations. As much as I would like bigger boobs am actually petrified at the thought of something going wrong and hating the end result.

If they really bother you, it's not a rushed decision , you've researched it properly and you can afford it, then I think why the hell not. I had mine done about 11 or 12 years ago and they still look good. Mine was a lift and augmentation, as I was really unhappy with them after breastfeeding, so once I'd finished feeding my last baby, I booked to get a boob job and to be sterilised. I don't regret it.

brebrev · 14/11/2023 23:02

Having gone from 32C to 32F after all the changes of having a child (now 3) I wish

brebrev · 14/11/2023 23:03

...I could go back to the smaller size!

Sorry pressed send!

newtlover · 14/11/2023 23:06

no, don't

you are fine as you are

xyz111 · 14/11/2023 23:07

@sipsqueak I was making a point that some people seem to think big boobs = better looking, more successful in life. And that's not the case at all!!!

Seaside3 · 14/11/2023 23:24

I have 2 friends who had boob jobs. They're still insecure about their bodies. I'd say, spend the money, time and effort on making yourself feel better about the skin you're in.

WhamBamThankU · 14/11/2023 23:25

I can only speak as someone with naturally large boobs and I can say that tops/dresses never look as good as they would on someone with smaller boobs.

Famousinlove · 14/11/2023 23:25

i had one a few years ago. Went from AA to a C, so they aren't big now. Don't regret it at all.
They don't need to be re done every few years either, maybe the older liquid ones did but not now.

Noseyoldcow · 14/11/2023 23:37

Stick to what Mother Nature and your genes gave you. Wear a good bra. Ever noticed how fashion models are not over endowed? That because clothes hang better on a small boobed frame. And you can always fake it with underwear/chicken fillets or whatever. Big breasts are a nightmare to clothe and get in the way, I know, I am very well endowed. But even so, I've learned to live with what I've got. And you should too.

therealcookiemonster · 14/11/2023 23:58

managed a lot of patients post breast surgery (although not enlargement) as I only do NHS work.... its bloody painful

if you want the OP, choose your surgeon carefully and be prepared to spend. getting procedures done on the cheap never ended well. don't go abroad for it

CallieQ · 15/11/2023 00:39

Leave your boobs alone

MariaLuna · 15/11/2023 00:46

Please don't.

Someone's daughter I know died on the operating table. Early 20's.
It was heartbreaking, especially listening to her boyfriend's speech at the funeral.

I would urge you to do stuff that elevates your confidence, gym, self-care, maybe therapy, whatever.

It's a dreadful society we live in where women (men too) have to be a picture of perfection.

Celebrate the difference!

Barbies are boring
