To get a boob job or not?

Beanscene · 14/11/2023 22:32

Debating on a boob job, to get bigger and firmer boobs. Currently have teabag small boobs. Has anyone had a boob job.. If so was it worth it? Having never had large boobs not sure if I would like how they feel. Never liked the size of my boobs and effects my confidence..

@RampantIvy In my opinion they look better. I didn't mention yours.

RampantIvy · 15/11/2023 14:41

Wow, just wow @CuboidsAndSpheres Hmm
I was not being nasty, and it was not my intention to body shame anyone. As a flat chested person I am sick of buying clothes that don't fit properly because they are cut for women with curves.

JanewaysBun · 15/11/2023 14:55

I had one about 10 years ago and very happy. They're not massive so don't get in the way of anything i think had 200 cc. I know a few people who have had them done with no issues.

You're apparently flat chested yet fed the need to go out of your way to make other people feel bad? If you are indeed flat chested, on need to keep that negativity to yourself tbh

lindyloo57 · 15/11/2023 15:22

I have had mine in for 17 years, went from a AA to aD never regretted it, even though the first time after 10 years they went hard, so had to be replaced, the second op, I'm just back to my hospital bed, and I have a bleed in one breast so was rushed straight back in operation room to take implant out to stop bleeding, then put back in, that was scary,
I had it done on the NHS as I had hardly any breasts, I ask if I need to replace them as they are 17 years old, and was told as long as I have no problems they are fine, I do have regular mammograms.

lindyloo57 · 15/11/2023 15:26

just to add they are not huge, just normal size, people I didn't tell didn't even notice, I think its the ones that are very big that have more problems i had 360cc size

You have completely taken my post the wrong way.

I don't know what else I can say to you.

@TheChosenTwo

Tops look crap on me, I don’t have much to put in them. I’ve got wide hips and look really unbalanced

This is where padded bras such as from Max Cleavage or "2cup size bigger-type" type bras really help and give your balance in clothes. I know because I'm the same

I completely get what you mean. Nothing wrong with challenging the myth that small breasts always look better in clothes when you're completely flat chested yourself so know it's not true. It's hardly body shaming to point out that dresses gape!

I'm with you there!

And I didn't take your comment to be unpleasant. I took it to be an accurate picture of what it's like to be flat chested.

I think people on MN sometimes imagine that something like 34B is "flat-chested". It isn't! Flat chested is what I am - namely so flat chested that there isn't a bra with a small enough cup size to fit me.

CuboidsAndSpheres · 15/11/2023 18:15

Personally, I don't get how disparaging a body type is ok even if you say you look like that but ok.

If someone said 'overweight people are gross, they don't look good when they try and dress up'

'Oh by the way, im a size 16'

You'd get a major side eye from me.

Self depreciating comments are cool, I don't think undermining other people's is.

CuboidsAndSpheres · 15/11/2023 18:20

Even if one or two people say they don't mind, other people can still see. It's public, on the internet. No need.

Beanscene · 15/11/2023 18:28

Wow so many comments and great advice thank you everyone for replying 😁. After chatting with friends and reading comments I think am just going to leave it... really don't like the thought of surgery and googled prices 😳😳😳. Just going to try and work on self esteem. I've never been considered a sexy desirable person, and was often overlooked when out with curvier friends... so I think am I thought boobs would be the answer which it isn't I know

I don't understand why having small boobs would affect your confidence. Do you think that you will suddenly turn into a confident person if your boobs are bigger?

This sounds like an internal issue to me, not an external one.

CET27 · 15/11/2023 18:34

I’d say no! I had them and was v pleased with the result, but more evidence is now emerging around breast implant illness and safety concerns around textured implants. I chose to have mine removed (as the potential risks were playing on my mind) and now am left with scarring, I wish I’d not gone down that road in the first place

ThomasinaLivesHere · 15/11/2023 19:08

I think there’s less emphasis on having a big chest to be attractive so I think surgery is totally pointless and won’t make you instantly confident. Confidence comes from within otherwise models would be the most secure confident people.

It’s interesting to hear some people saying smaller chests are better fitting for clothes as my mother would always tell me to wear a padded bra to look better in clothing.

Good decision. If in doubt, the answer is usually no.

Bellabluea · 15/11/2023 19:52

Haven’t RTFT but I had mine done at 20. Silicone under the muscle. Doubt anyone could have persuaded me against it, I had two kids by then and I ‘snapped back’ aside from my small saggy ball in sock boobs. They were really getting me down.
I was delighted with them and had them in for 20 year. After about 10 years one of them went hard and lumpy but I was knees deep in nappies and small children and uni so I put off getting them removed until I was about 40. One had leaked and there was silicone in my lymph nodes. Drs say this is harmless but I did develop autoimmune conditions in that time so I’ll never know.
Suppose I’d say go for it but just be aware that it’s not always straightforward and the really should be replaced every 10 years at least.

Oblomov23 · 15/11/2023 20:00

No. I can spot them a mile off and I think they are vile.

GreekDogRescue · 15/11/2023 20:11

I had them put in when I was 40 but I became very ill with them and had them removed.
no health problems since.

PhilInthepotholes · 15/11/2023 20:19

@CuboidsAndSpheres you are being very odd.

Nobody's disparaging a body type.

Dresses which are designed for breasts gape and look completely ridiculous on women with flat chests. I once tried on a Diane von Furstenberg wrap dress, on the grounds that I read somewhere that they fit every body type. They certainly don't fit mine. The 'wrap' bit which is supposed to go across my breasts just hung there vacantly.

Shirt dresses look great on flat-chested women, by contrast.

These are just facts. Nothing disparaging about it.

I am also 5 foot and slim, and M&S wide-legged trousers make me look like a cube, whereas my equally slim friend who is 5 foot 8 looks incredible in them . This is also a fact.

Sounds like a good decision @Beanscene . Working on your self confidence is the key. I wish we could all learn to love - or at least accept - our bodies. I know I'm my own worst critic.

Mumaway · 15/11/2023 20:43

Not. Your boobs are amazing, screw societal pressure. As the owner of bigger boobs, I promise it's just annoying as things don't fit right

Thanks for that @Abracadabra12345 - although this is good advice for when I’m dressed it’s actually when I’m naked it’s the biggest issue for me!!
I hate seeing myself naked as my boobs just look so sad and deflated 😂 I don’t mind anything else, and I don’t have a perfect body by any stretch of the imagination.
I don’t want big boobs, I’d just like them to be back how they were before 3 pregnancies and 3 rounds of bfing. A bit more volume put back in. They just sag flat against my chest with a small rounding out at the bottom.
