I can't do this alone folks. I've got TOO MUCH STUFF... I also have 2 beauty advent calendars

So I've set myself a challenge. Between now and June the 1st 2024 I will not buy any beauty products UNLESS I've run out of all of that particular type. If I've got a tiny sample bottle of shampoo or conditioner I'll use it all up. All those half used bottles of moisturiser, night cream, shower gel and toner and body lotion MUST GO... the mountain of soap must be surmounted.

My only concession is that I will not cancel the Liberty Beauty drop will get a couple of boxes to cheer me up

So if you want to join me make up your own rules and lets cull that stash

I’ve been using up of Vit C night lotion by Dr Eve-Ryouth. I got it in an AC Christmas 22 but don’t remember which one. I’m really impressed with it though, my skin is always really glowy in the morning when I’ve used it. I didn’t think it would be as good as it’s been open a while and the Vit C is supposed to degrade. I’m tempted to buy another but the prices vary hugely.

I'm aiming to get through 100 items this year - now wondering if it's a bit ambitious although I am including smaller sizes / samples in the total and I've got plenty of those obviously

I'm busy trying not to give in to all the adverts for Mother's day boxes appearing on my facebook feed. The M&S one is great and a good price too.. but I have to be strong so I'm going to take my sister out for a meal when I see her at the weekend instead

It would appear that I may have passed on my tendency to stockpile (ahem, hoard) beauty items, as my dd ran out of one of per favourite perfumes which is discontinued now. Oh I say, but I have two new sealed ones as when I heard they were going to be gone forever, I made use of a 3 for 2 offer. AND there were only 3 left, so got them all. (I like this perfume too). This was in 2020, just before lockdown so hers has lasted well. She asked me to look in her drawer for what else she had forgotten about (she doesn't live at home with me anymore) and there in her grand collection, is another full bottle! I have no idea when we bought this or where it came from, but it was like Christmas all over.

So she asked if I will send it to her, and while I am making up a parcel, do I perhaps have shower gel, shampoo, deodorant, face wash etc etc that can go in too. Of course I do!

This was the whole point of starting my stash in all honesty, to stock up when its good value and to avoid having to pop to the shop for one toothpaste, as we all know we are NOT coming out with just one toothpaste.

So I will be able to make a bit of space soon, but the sealed perfume is going back into it's spot. That is like gold dust now.

@isthismylifenow DS1 is always plundering my stash for cleansers etc so I’ve managed to offload all the exfoliating ones on him. I have a strong suspicion he’s bought me the JL Mother’s Day edit so I’ll definitely have to find room on the shelves

I bought some Faith in Nature shampoo today.. it smells of coconut.. but it's for the dog so that's OK isn't it ... can't be co-habiting with a smelly hound

Our mothers day is later in the year, I usually get flowers so no need to make space for anything.

Yes, of course the floof also needs to smell good. And even better, a coconut floof.

I don't find them appealing because I have far too much stuff.

Seems my Mothers Day box is arriving today. I am away for MD so I’m getting it early from adult DS. Will report back.

I really like the M and S box but obviously I've gotntoo much stiff and anyway I've got a whole bottle plus a tiny sample bottle of the cherry blossom shower gel

i'm gradually starting to see my hoard going down but it certainly won't all be gone by June 1st. it's embarrassing how much I've got

I feel like I'm making some progress with certain items, use the Boots recycling scheme so will treat myself at some point

Trying to use up make up

I have a lot of perfume to use.

After a bit of a blip (got the latest Liberty kit plus some scented candles) I'm back on track using things up. I'm so easily tempted by GWPs though, I keep eyeing up the Cult Beauty GWP, that ends today, but there's nothing in it I really want/need. I do need to buy some shampoo and conditioner too but it can wait a bit longer, there'll probably be a better GWP by then anyway...

Without meaning to be an enabler, the JL Mother’s Day box is very nice. I won’t be buying the M&S one but there’s a chance DS2 might get it for me. I’ve used up quite a few bits this week, including a large Beauty Pie cleanser that I like that takes ages to use up.

I did visit look fantastic today and ordered a concealer but needed something else on there.

Off to the naughty step! You have just put that in my basket and made me buy it.

I'm holding firm with my one purchase (replacement of liquid lipstick) this year, despite the temptations. I'm a bit twitchy due to the fact that I have several items running out soon. But I have another similar item in all those categories, so no need to buy. But I admit I have been looking.

Must remember that these kits appear and reappear constantly in different iterations, so I don't need to buy anything just now!

I am still doing well. I’m in Australia on holiday and haven’t bought much. I did buy a small Ilia mascara to try as the one I have with me was really gloopy. I like the Ilia so will buy the full size.

My stash has grown though as I have had quite a few presents from friends.

However I did spot a K Beauty store yesterday and am planning a visit next week……. I promise I won’t go mad though!

A K Beauty store sounds very exciting. You need to get your list of recommendations from @Fraaahnces before you venture in though.
