Can I see everyone's non traditional wedding dresses please.

Or any dress you'd love to get married in, or wear to a special event.

I am getting married and don't know what I want, but know I don't want white or traditional.

As a pale redhead I know I don't suit white or cream, emerald green is definitely my best colour so I thought sod tradition and where what colour I loved. We didn't have the traditional church wedding, it was a small post-Covid wedding so I think a traditional big white dress would have felt too much.

I got so many comments about the dress!

This dress in gorgeous, something I'd like for sure. I was thinking green, I'm naturally a bit tanned with brown hair. I can imagine you looked sensational with your colouring

I wore a pale pink full length dress with heavy white lace flowers sort of cascading down the bodice and skirt that had been appliquéd on to the dress. It was a one off made by a dressmaker and wore a crystal bead tiara from the 1930’s. As the 1990’s I would have to go and find the wedding album and take a photo .

Ohhh I went to Droopy and Browns too, and found a dress I loved, but thought it was too expensive!

So I went to a local wedding dress shop where the designer Anna Christina was visiting, and bought an even more expensive dress!!

I loved it and still do. It was light pink silk dupion with embroidery and pearls.

Their wedding dresses were eye watering although the day wear was a bit more reasonable - it made up most of my work wardrobe pre DC. Now DD2 has requisitioned a lot of it on the understanding that it never appears on her depop account! Pink silk and pearls sounds lovely - mine had a floral embroidery of pearls and crystals all over a big wide collar (very 1990!!). I did have a navy wool going away dress from D&B though.

This was mine, it's from Needle and Thread, they had quite a few options I tried. They have more colourful options too!

Cost £150 in total. I didn't see anything I wanted so sent my idea of what I wanted to someone on etsy and they created this. It needed a few adjustments and a friend's mum did them for me.

I got married in my mid 30's in this little Michael Kors shift dress. The bow is on the back. Your post has inspired me to get it out of storage (14 years, only looked at it once) and sell it. The pic on a hanger doesn't do it justice. Not sure I could even get it over my hips now, let alone zip it up 😂

I had this one. The swathes over the hips were removable and the dress had a gentle fishtail bottom which was lovely to dance in.

No photo sorry, but I got married for the 2nd time 18 years ago, my dress was made from burgundy raw silk, using a 1940's pattern, "wiggle" style with a shawl collar. I just wish I could still fit into it!

Mine was very similar to this with red strappy stilettos, we got married on a scorching hot day with only 6 guests

I have worn it quite a few times since for other peoples weddings/events.
