Fringe or Botox ? What do you do ?

AssertiveGertrude · 20/07/2023 12:44

Sorry for blunt question
my forehead lines are more obvious lately

I can afford Botox but know it’s short term and another regular expense if I like it ?

a fringe is an option but I have an ear length Bob and dark hair so it might be too much ? If I get a fringe I will need to wash it every morning and style to stay in place due to kink in my hair (this is ok - I tend to shower at night so this would be a two minute job?)

any tips or insight ? Maybe try Botox once to get an feel for how I would look

Any chance of a scribbled out image. It's difficult to say without this.

Personally, I've had a fringe for years and don't think i suit no fringe.

Typically, I have no wrinkles under my fringe but have plenty on the rest of my face.

BlairWaldorfOG · 20/07/2023 13:10

I really don't suit a proper fringe so Botox for me.

cocksstrideintheevening · 20/07/2023 14:28

I look like a Lego head with a fringe so Botox for me

Wfhandbored · 20/07/2023 14:30

Botox all day

MotherofGorgons · 20/07/2023 14:31

Tretinoin.

minipie · 20/07/2023 14:32

I have a fringe even though I don’t have forehead wrinkles because (I think) it suits me.

I wouldn’t get a fringe just to hide wrinkles. Get one if you want one!

MysweetAudrina · 20/07/2023 14:33

Definitely botox over aa fringe

EpicDay · 20/07/2023 14:35

Ummm, maybe just don’t worry about it? Genuinely, why not just have wrinkles?

VeridicalVagabond · 20/07/2023 14:38

Botox for me when the time comes, I look like Noel Fielding with a fringe.

😁😁😁

Botox here too.

TheCyclingGorilla · 20/07/2023 14:43

Fringes always go badly for me but having injections in my forehead doesn't appeal either. I'm going for curtains (once my hair has grown long enough!)

Carbis · 20/07/2023 14:44

I normally have a fringe but since having my hair cut to above the shoulder I’ve had to grow the fringe out because it swamped me.

I can’t stop noticing how bad my forehead is now though so I’ll either have to grow my hair and have the fringe cut back in or get Botox.

AssertiveGertrude · 20/07/2023 16:04

Off to Google who Noel Fielding it ...

Ah yes .. bake off man, Iike him though I’m not in anyway as cool as him

yeah I think so Jessy .. might be worth a go as they do annoy me when putting make up on (lines have got quite deep) only two across my forehead horizontally

Just grow old, there’s no shame in it.

Remember the ones who drink the elixir of youth always meet a sticky end in the movies.

Botox.

Yes, this. Genuinely slightly shocked by this thread - is this really something that most ordinary women (ie not actors/tv presenters) worry about?

Genuinely, because I'd rather not look like a haggard old bag which I do without botox, having spent a long time enjoying life rather too hard and no SPF in the 80s living in the desert.

KingTriton · 20/07/2023 16:19

100% Botox. It's brilliant.

Superher · 20/07/2023 16:23

My goodness, are most women having Botox as standard now? I’m shocked at the replies.

There is nothing wrong with getting older! We are our own worst enemy.

rhaenyra01 · 20/07/2023 16:29

Every time I’ve got a fringe, I’ve remembered why I grew it out last time! They really are quite high maintenance. You may find with Botox that you don’t need it as regularly as you might think - I only get mine a couple of times a year, it does depend on person to person though.

There is nothing wrong with getting older, but there's also nothing wrong with doing something like Botox to give yourself a bit of a lift.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 20/07/2023 16:45

I'm thinking of doing both, but the last time I had a fringe, thinking Claudia Winkleman looking like 80s bowlhead.

AssertiveGertrude · 20/07/2023 16:55

I think it’s quite common to get it - you can sort of tell

I’d say 30 percent of people I work with have a natural look but definitely have it done

PuppyMonkey · 20/07/2023 16:58

I’m team fringe but I’ve had one nearly all my life so don’t really get this anti-fringe high maintenance angst tbf.Grin
