@Dee1224 thank you! Maybe I will claim, is an expensive error! Maybe light green suede was not such a good idea. JF must be strong stuff!!

Dee1224 · 16/07/2023 09:10

Also, if the outside is suede, once dry, you may find that a good suede brush - used lightly - will remove some of the marks x

Morning toasters, I'm really taken by the ecru barrel leg dungarees and am really likely to keep them. I think they're really cute, just wondering how much I can sustain a pair in ecru (tempted to put a pen mark on them just to get it out of the way!). I just went on to the toast site to see if they had any in the dark blue and they don't. There's one pair in my size 14 on ebay, but the seller doesn't take returns and I'm not savvy so I tend to avoid ebay/vinted. Do any of you happen to know whether toast usually do a dark blue barrel leg version? I think I've previously tried the jenna and know that it doesn't work for me.

dudsville · 16/07/2023 10:21

That wasn't clear, I mean do you know if toast usually carry this as one of their basics, like they do with the denim skirt and trousers?

Noeggsontoast · 16/07/2023 10:50

@dudsville i think it was this year they started the barrel leg version so not sure if it will become a permanent part of the range unlike their standard Jessa.

Morning all, Pondlife today!

Dee1224 · 16/07/2023 11:19

@dudsville - those dungarees look lovely on you - if you tire of the colour or get a mark on them, you could always dye them. (Or do a Toast renewed and do a bit of embroidery!)

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 16/07/2023 11:22

@Dee1224 That looks really nice on you .

dudsville · 16/07/2023 11:23

@Dee1224 that dress is perfect for you, and I have those pjs in the back, love them too.

I just rang Shepton Mallet to ask if they had a pair of the indigo ones, they don't and they were able to see that none of the shops do. I'm just wodnering if I bite the expensive bullet and buy the ebay ones... the seller has 100% postive feedback,

Dee1224 · 16/07/2023 11:27

Thanks, @dudsville and @Theteapotsbrokenspout . I love my Painted Falls nightwear!

I have decided to return the cotton Fairisle tank - it’s lovely, but does absolutely nothing for me!

Thinking of jumpers to possibly go over a dress, (following on from an earlier conversation), does anyone have this?

If so, does it come up small?

Toast only have Small left and I am not a fan of side splits, but I am wondering if it might be an unexpected hit.

Our Sailor Collar Wool Cotton Sweater is crafted from a merino wool and cotton blend. It has dropped sleeves, ribbed edges and side slits.

dudsville · 16/07/2023 11:33

Thanks @Noeggsontoast , the SM person confirmed that saying it was a new style.

I'm torn between a potentially expensive mistake (I don't see things) and losing out on the last of a thing that I think might be wonderful....

Countmeout · 16/07/2023 11:42

I tried that sweater @Dee1224 but returned. Lovely quality as usual but the arms were very wide on me and I wasn’t a fan of the side splits.

Dee1224 · 16/07/2023 11:45

Thanks @Countmeout - that’s helpful.

Stoic123 · 16/07/2023 12:08

@Dee1224 - I bought the green version of that. I kept it but specifically to wear over jeans. Wouldn't see it as something to wear over dresses. Quite chunky.

Dee1224 · 16/07/2023 12:12

Thanks@Stoic123 - was it tts?

Stoic123 · 16/07/2023 12:19

@Dee1224 - It's a relaxed fit but not as oversized as last year's sizing. I got a large (RL 14) but plenty of room.

Dee1224 · 16/07/2023 12:20

I see - thanks!

faustina · 16/07/2023 12:22

@Dee1224 - that looks beautiful - I'm so glad you found one that worked for you in the end

@dudsville - I'd be very wary of buying anything on Ebay that wasn't exactly the same as something I'd tried from Toast itself, especially with the wild size variations at the moment. Couldn't you keep the ecru (which look great on you ) and then if there's an accident you could just dye them dark navy? I've dyed white to dark navy t-shirts and they look great (my only successful dying attempt)

Dee1224 · 16/07/2023 12:26

Thanks @faustina - Pond is cheering me up today!

I am a bit surprised that Toast haven’t announced an end date for the sale yet. They haven’t added any returns to the site since Friday at 3am.

dudsville · 16/07/2023 12:54

Thanks @faustina , all i needed was one sage warning to get me to stand down! If any of you on the Facebook selling page come across a size 14 indigo barrel leg please let me know!

dudsville · 16/07/2023 12:59

Ps, i wouldn't dream of dying them! I think I'll still like them even if they do get marked. As you say @Dee1224 , i could always get creative if need be!

NotAMinimalist1 · 16/07/2023 13:20

@Dee1224 my friend got told in store that they were putting ‘further reductions’ up on 06-Jul, which they did, and that the sale would end 2 weeks later. How accurate the end date is though I don’t know because I’ve asked in the chat and they’re being so vague. If we believe store staff info though that puts us toward the end of this coming week.

Dee1224 · 16/07/2023 13:29

Thanks @NotAMinimalist1 -in that case it seems even odder that Toast seem to have stopped adding returns.

They have definitely been much slower at adding returns to the site than in previous sales - it used to be a constant drip feed, whereas this time it has been feast or famine. I wonder if it is deliberate or due to staff shortages.

NotAMinimalist1 · 16/07/2023 13:34

Yes, it’s odd isn’t it. I’ve just phoned up and got them to check for returns on an item I need in a smaller size. The guy was able to place an order for me but with the caveat of it could be a stock discrepancy so it might get cancelled, if there are no further restocks and you were hoping for something, do call, he was most helpful.
