@ilovecherries - that is horrible! They had better compensate you for everything (you can show online receipts if you bought online don't forget that). Have you mentioned trip advisor reviews yet? Is there a manager bigger than the manager who needs new people skills (and a punch in the face)

@Dee1224 - and sorry to hear about your boatneck sadness too - yes, it was just too big but not in a good way. Maybe the copper dress will appear in a last hurrah? Fingers crossed for you

@ilovecherries - I always nick them for my dirty washing to take home. Normally keep them in bottom of wardrobe and never had one taken before.

@ilovecherries I am so so sorry to hear what has happened.

Please put a complaint in writing to the hotel, and to its parent company if applicable, together with any supporting evidence - pictures before/after, receipts/copies of original orders.

Then you could ask for appropriate compensation.

If you have a rep/holiday company also speak to them.

At the same time, speak to your insurance company.

I know it's still horrible as they're your collected precious items that you now have to source again. Hope it gets sorted soon. x

In other news. I cracked. I am a sheeple. I have ordered the Pond dress. Just to try. It was the talk about wearing it underneath a cosy jumper in autumn that pushed me over the edge. I don’t like skirts particularly - there is something sensory about them that I don’t like. But I like the LOOK of a skirt. So this may provide the look without the feel.

Hopefully it'll help in some small way with today's ordeal cherries.

ive made a bit of an error on holiday, slightly toastie related. I bought a Bleu De Chauffe suede bag with me, I’ve managed to leak Jungle Formula repellant inside, its eroded my iPad cover so theres now a blue insect repellant leak on the suede, mainly inside but also showing outside. I tried to clean it up a bit with a wet wipe but it’s not done much (could even be worse!) Any tips?! Also, would you claim on travel insurance? Obviously isn’t much but the bag was nearly £250 and is brand new, also the iPad case :( not sure if claiming for that low value is wise or even plausible.

Hi, @Snowyowl78 - sorry to hear about this. I would claim on travel insurance if you can. You may as well make a claim for the total damage, which includes the iPad case - a claim is a claim, it doesn’t matter about adding other items and it is an expense to replace.

I have done similar things with insect repellent and I am not sure what might help. For now, I would pad the inside with kitchen towel or similar to absorb the moisture and see what it looks like once dry.
