oh my those Cotton Linen Canvas Wide Leg Trousers are lovely but the price! 😮 How can they justify that? ill have to wait for the next sale with crossed fingers ..
I have just paid my credit card bill.... Oh dear ....

They are expensive.... trying not to think about it too much.

Stoic123 · 24/07/2023 16:16

@faustina and @Laska2Meryls - I've tried the oat ones before but didn't get on with them. This are quite different - but agree very pricy.

Don't want to return them though .... so will just have to wince at cost.

Are they generous around the tummy?

What is it supposed to be? What is the chair doing there? Gallows?

Art installation in progress. Still to add a rail of Toast clothes, hats above, shoes below, levitating level with the resting chair. Once complete, it becomes a meditation on what is left once you've sold all your belongings, ground, shelter, and very soul to become a pure Toast being.

Stoic123 · 24/07/2023 16:38

@Stravaig 😂😂.

faustina · 24/07/2023 16:41

@Stoic123 - they most definitely aren't the oat ones! Much stiffer fabric and proper trousers rather than pull ons. If I hadn't just bought the cotton linen side tab pair, they would be at the top of my list.
I tried the oat pair twice, once at John Lewis and the XS was huge and quite thin so I sent them back, then by mistake again in this last sale as I thought they were a different pair

Stoic123 · 24/07/2023 16:44

@neveradullmoment99 - I got the L and last year would have got a M. I'm usually a RL 14 in both waist and hips - the L was very ample in waist but didn't size down as thought hips would be tight in M.

I've had Toast items before that are tight in waist (e.g. skirts, Ashleys) but this wasn't one of them. One of the reviews talks of a tight waist though....

Stoic123 · 24/07/2023 16:47

@faustina - there was definitely something about the Oat linen fabric that didn't appeal.

@SmaugMum - I also like the Moira print (same one).

Noeggsontoast · 24/07/2023 16:48

@faustina I must admit I don't wear them in wet weather, I typically turn to other footwear when it's wet.

Laska2Meryls · 24/07/2023 16:52

Oar check dress: Great style and fabric, fab pattern, Lovely on ... And an Utter, Utter pig to iron.... Is it too early for wine ?

Actually now I think that I bought those oat linen trousers in the winter sale because having just ironed the red linen ones I bought at Kilver Court in spring 2022, I realise that I had those first and they only started doing the pane@lled later on .. Random irrelevant ironing thought 94

I have that dancer print too and also like it. It arrived with the full price indigo jessa dungarees that I thought I would try off the back of loving the barrel leg ecru ones so much. Happily, the dungarres are going back, so I'm back to having only bought 4 items full price - belt, 2 tees, and some barrel leg indigo trousers. I also however have the upside down clown from an attempt to also buy a full price dress last week. Dress also went back, and iI'm not so sure I like the print, but I like the red a lot so I have it out to see if it grows on me. Glad the sale is over and my little foray into full price stuff can stop.

Perfect @Stravaig 😂"Art installation in progress. Still to add a rail of Toast clothes, hats above, shoes below, levitating level with the resting chair. @faustina, I did that in a recent sale, my forgetting was paired with having first moaned on and on here about how much I didn't like the look of some linen trousers... then found them in my wardrobe, tried them on and then bought the other colour. I'm an idiot.

dudsville · 24/07/2023 17:17

@Laska2Meryls , no it's not too early for wine! I don't remember finding it hard to iron, and I haven't worn it yet, grrr.

I like the sound of your world; I would happily move there.

Laska2Meryls · 24/07/2023 17:41

I get very impatient and cross easily with clothes when I am ironing @dudsville .. It probably didn't help that I sewed the placket up over the bust because of the likelihood of gaping due to the button placement.. Anyway ot looks good again now its done ( and I have a glass of white)and washes beautifully...now as its DHs turn to cook I can ponder what Toast loungewear to change into ..

@Stravaig .. Brilliant! I think that may be something that I can relate too !🤣
I agree that the new canvas linen trousers are much more stylish than my oat linen ones .. but as I haven't worn those , and they look good - especially rolled up a little - I really cannot justify sending the others... Thats not saying that I wont though !

My final sale parcel arrived - or rather I came home and could open it. Only Loop Back Easy Sweater | Aegean Green and Garment Dyed Toffee Linen Trousers | Toffee are staying. Both lovely.

Starfish pjs are too tight over shoulders. Garment Dyed Linen Pull On Trousers | Peacock make me look like a pensioner tourist from Florida. Birkenstock Zermatt Shearling Slippers | Forest are narrow fit, which I should have thought of. Patchwork quilt is nice but not nice enough for the euro price.

lordloveadog · 24/07/2023 18:08

This makes my sale total:

1x pjs Bird Print Flannel Pyjamas | Olive

1x cardie Boxy Wool Cashmere Cardigan | Biscuit

2x dresses
Drawstring Waist Denim Dress | Indigo
Gingham Seersucker Cotton Dress | Timber/Ecru

4x tops
Cotton Slub Half Sleeve Tee | Golden Straw
Gathered Cotton Slub Half Sleeve Tee | Shell
Cotton Linen Knitted Top | Croft Green
Round Collar Stripe Cotton Tee | Putty/Mineral Blue

2x thermals
Wool Tencel High Neck Tee | Conker
Wool Tencel High Neck Tee | Dark Green

3x jumpers
Collared Loop Back Cotton Sweatshirt Denim Blue
Loop Back Easy Sweater | Aegean Green
Lofty Jacquard Yoke Sweater | Plum Multi

3x trousers
Reed Ikat Cotton Trousers | Ecru/Bitter Chocolate
Garment Dyed Toffee Linen Trousers | Toffee
Cotton Linen Herringbone Trousers | Maple

1x socks Cotton Cashmere Stripe Socks | Sage Green Multi
1x cushion cover
2x bedlinen

Good grief. I have actually already worn all of them, though, except the things I got today and the thermals because this is the brief part of our year when thermals are not wearable. And am very pleased with everything.

Laska2Meryls · 24/07/2023 19:27

I went for the Areca Pyjama trousers from summer before last ( they have a palm tree pattern shirt top if you remember them.. which I have actually worn out as a shirt ) and the Cumin Emma as my evening loungewear. I think this chimes very well with Toast's new 'Circus' look .. I have always thought of these PJ bottoms as my 'Clown Trousers '

Lovely loungewear @Laska2Meryls

Hope your first day went well @ilovecherries !

Dee1224 · 24/07/2023 19:45

Hi,

Sorry to reopen the moth chat from before but I was looking through some coats/jackets to sell on eBay and came across a black jacket covered in what looked like dandruff. (It wasn’t!) I shoved it in the washing machine on 60 and then rinsed the machine through, but I am now worried I have a clothes moth infestation in the back room - most of the stuff there is coats and can’t be washed.

I can’t find the recommendations from before - any suggestions for treatment?

Thanks

faustina · 24/07/2023 20:13

Very nice @Laska2Meryls . You live near a beach don't you? Time to build a mystery structure of sticks I think! 😀

@Dee1224 are you sure it was moths? Has it got any little holes?

Dee1224 · 24/07/2023 20:15

It was a poly cotton jacket so no holes @faustina . But I couldn’t see any holes - just weird white flecks everywhere 😢

faustina · 24/07/2023 20:19

I think if it were moths they would have had some of it Dee. There was a horrible cheap carpet in my house when I moved in (zero percent wool) and they absolutely loved it. Maybe it isn't moths after all? Perhaps some plaster dust from somewhere? Maybe just look at everything else to check, and then hang those anti moth things in there. Fingers crossed for you!

Dee1224 · 24/07/2023 20:28

Putting some moth repelllent hangers on there now @faustina . I just can’t remember the other stuff that people were ordering as recommended by - was it @Alpacasoft ?
