I'm still waiting for a sale order to arrive- the oar check dress and some socks. Hopefully they'll come today.

Snowyowl78 · 24/07/2023 10:06

If anyone’s wondering when the next sale will be, last year it was 22nd Sept and only for one weekend! I have a few bits bookmarked, not sure if I can wait!

AFingerofFudge · 24/07/2023 11:10

Ooh @Snowyowl78 you've now given me the kick up the bum I need to sell some bits to make some money before then!!

@ilovecherries I think I am hugely jealous. We sit outside Central St Martin’s whenever we are in London as DD2(7) will play in the fountains for hours while DD1(15) loves to watch the students coming and going in their amazing outfits. It was my dream for DD1 to attend art college as she is a talented artist (she once won a national competition) but she was talked out of taking it as a GCSE by her school; mainly because she is registered blind and they didn’t want to make the necessary adjustments to the curriculum. But maybe it isn’t too late for her? 🤔

My friend’s husband is starting a course at Central Saint Martins in September. He is 67.

Never too late!

Zeusrules · 24/07/2023 11:15

@AFingerofFudge I'm waiting for one last sale order too but the tracking says the Royal Mail are waiting to receive it. This has been the case since last Wednesday. I shall wait a few more days and get in touch with Toast. Hope your items arrive.

Laska2Meryls · 24/07/2023 11:28

Doesn't Esme Young lecturer there? I just love her style.. And Sewing Bee....wish I could sew ( I try but my machine hates me ...it's like an alien being all goes well for a while then it seems to get all tangled up) it might help if I could sew a straight seem ...

@dudsville no it’s the end of summer sale

has anyone got the Cotton Merino Marl Knitted Tank | Mustard Marl? I got it today and it’s really nice! I am not certain how to style it though, white tshirt underneath?!

faustina · 24/07/2023 12:31

@ilovecherries - enjoy your course! if there's one place you won't get side-eyed for wearing quite literally anything, it's St Martins. 😀

My fracap mules have arrived! Off to try them with everything

BettinaInDenmark · 24/07/2023 12:42

@Snowyowl78 I got the green version in the sale; tempted because of the model pic with the Birch jacket, which I had been pondering on how to style when not wearing the trousers too. It was a total rabbit hole, because then I also had to have trousers and shirt in the colours modelled...

Snowyowl78 · 24/07/2023 12:49

@BettinaInDenmark oh it’s a slippery slope!

dudsville · 24/07/2023 12:58

Ooooh,i don't know if I'll have gained back any financial control from my wayward part in time for an end of sumner sale!

Saurus72 · 24/07/2023 13:07

I’d love to be doing a course at Central St Martins, lucky you @ilovecherries ! Great location for some lunchtime shopping too…

I just ordered this bandana https://www.toa.st/products/field-flower-block-print-bandana-aurora

I love the colours and design and I’m planning to frame it and hang it as a picture. We have form for doing this - last summer I had two Timorous Beasties tea towels framed for our new kitchen. Fab and v cost effective.

Our Aurora Field Flower Organic Cotton Bandana is hand block-printed in India. It has a bright pattern and hemmed edges.

dudsville · 24/07/2023 13:09

That's such a creative idea!

MiracleToast · 24/07/2023 13:16

@faustina what do you think of the mules? I took mine on their first outing last night worn with ecru carpenters and black coffee linen shirt. I think they’re great and am wearing them now at work too.

@ilovecherries so exciting! What course are you doing? I hope you’re having a joyous day.

In other news my lotus gown arrived and I love it. I also briefly tried on the windflower gown I got for mums birthday and wow—it’s beautiful. I never would have chosen it for myself. I will give it to her later and I hope she loves it. Lotus is already on a hanger waiting for my return.

Good news trainers and scoopback swimsuit dropped at post office sadly, I really wanted to keep but they just weren’t perfect for me.

Wow! That’s brilliant. Maybe there’s hope for me too, as an oldie? I could forget about living vicariously through my children and actually fulfil a dream on my own. 😅

Stoic123 · 24/07/2023 07:28

What is it supposed to be? What is the chair doing there? Gallows?

The dark humour in me prefers your gallows suggestion: we could all be the tricoteuses by the side, except we could be invisible mending Japanese-style?

Stoic123 · 24/07/2023 13:41

@SmaugMum - I like it. Tricoteuses (& teinturières 😂).

Stoic123 · 24/07/2023 13:50

Toast package arrived today with 2 full priced (gasp) items. Have to say, both are pretty sensational.

The Cotton Linen Canvas Trousers that are being mentioned a lot - great material for the cut. I'm very wide hipped/ short waisted and doubted that they'd suit. Optical illusion - they look great. I got an L for RL size 14 but if you are more belly than hips, would recommend size down.

The Cashmere Wool Wrapis just perfect size and weight. Got in Celtic Blue and it's so beautiful.

Both really epitomise why I love Toast so much.

Hi, I'm wearing the green version today for the first time:with Annie jeans, nothing underneath the tank as it's too muggy.

Pleased you like the trousers, mine are keepers too.

Snowyowl78 · 24/07/2023 14:01

@faustina ooh I want to do this too with the dove bandana I bought in the sale- do you do anything special to hang them or just put them in the frame?

SmaugMum · 24/07/2023 14:04

My sale swan song parcel arrived today; the lotus gown in black and gold (it’s a keeper but I don’t - yet - love it as much as the windflower gown, mainly because the fabric doesn’t feel as luxurious? Anyway, I’m really happy to have sized up to size L in both gowns rather than my customary medium as I appreciate the extra few centimetres in the length (the shortness was my only ever criticism of Toast gowns, of which I have a fair few) and I like the comfort and security of having more wrapping fabric around the middle, especially to wear over PJs.

I’m thrilled with the Kindred Moira Frith print which is beautifully packaged and is printed on very good quality paper; did anyone else get one?
