I want to fade my black boatneck, not massively, just don't want the harsh crips black, and I'm scared of using diluted bleach. Has anyone done it by adding soda crystals and salt to the wash cycle?

How about washing a few times in Daz?

dudsville · 22/07/2023 08:57

Thanks for the idea@someoneseatenmyapple , I've never used Daz, I'll look it up!

Noeggsontoast · 21/07/2023 19:29

@neveradullmoment99 I bought a size 8 in this dress. The bust is fitted. I take in the high street a 10 in jigsaw and me+em, 8 in seasalt and M&S.

Thanks for that.

@Noodle421 - I used to have a pair, a long time ago. They were the greasy Gibsons I think, in black. Brilliant shoes, and they did go with everything. I wore them until they fell apart

Thanks for this ! Solovair do a lovely pair of greasy gibsons. I’m seriously tempted. They get good reviews and I think they will go with everything .

MiracleToast · 22/07/2023 09:57

Morning Toasties, I’m requesting some help please—has anyone purchased the scoop back swimsuit in brown (plum colour) and used in the water?

The suit fits me but is a little loose in the stomach area, not by much but I am wondering if it’s the type to get ‘saggy’? The material does feel very thin. Has anyone tried it out?!

dudsville · 22/07/2023 10:31

Happy days here as the lotus flower gown arrived and I do not like it! So all I'm waiting for is a pair of socks that I know I'll keep and the full price jessa dungarees which I've decided I'll keep if I love.

The forecast is for rain here and I don't feel like getting dressed out of my space check linen trousers and navy oversized boat neck tee. I tried on the black boat neck tee. There are slight vriations in colour naturally as it's slubby, I think for now I'll wait for it to fade naturally a bit over winter as I wear it under things.

I'm hoping my dear frined has either frgotten or cancels so I can stay in my home wear!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 22/07/2023 10:51

I have just totalled up my sales spend:
Just over £850 😬 only £75 of that was homeware, my biggest purchase was £195 on the hiker boots.

I also returned nearly £1500 worth.

I think I need to buy myself a night dress so I can have a lie down.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 22/07/2023 11:21

And today's toast outfit is not even new (apart from the socks) , it all came from vinted.

Laska2Meryls · 22/07/2023 11:24

Hmm .. despite getting bored looking at the dale stuff, I find that I am feeling rather deflated now its gone ! 🤦‍♀️ How nuts is that?
Today I am wearing a dark green linen T top from a few seasons ago and the new celadon panelled cotton linen trousers.. They are both very baggy, but ideal for just slopping around the house today which is all I plan to do as its blowing up stormy here ..

Love that yellow shirt @Theteapotsbrokenspout

What don’t you like about it @dudsville ?

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 22/07/2023 11:31

My latest vinted buy @Laska2Meryls , its more of a greenish yellow irl , I don't know what season it's from.

Laska2Meryls · 22/07/2023 11:48

I don't remember it either . I have cumin one of a similar style..
Right now I am also wearing the linen popover apron from the last sale, because I am eating a buttery crumpet !!

Laska2Meryls · 22/07/2023 11:50

Its a great apron .. probably my most worn sale thing (I tend to be a messy cook)

I was very relieved not to like it either. I didn’t even need to ‘decide’. I just put in on and the klaxon blared ‘nope, NOT made for cherries’.

dudsville · 22/07/2023 11:54

"I think I need to buy myself a night dress so I can have a lie down." gave me a giggle @Theteapotsbrokenspout! And fab outfit, Iagree, that yellow top is fab.

I'm too embarrassed to share my total sale spend. Ive had a word with myself.

And also love a baggy outfit for mild shifitng back and forth between kettle and sofa @Laska2Meryls, but I don't miss the sale at all. I did have a look at the current stuff as it pops up on my mn adverts, but all I wanted was the indigo version of those flat fron denim trousers in clay that I got in the sale.

@MiracleToast it's a wonderful gown, and the colours should work well for me, but it was just too severe, or dramatic, bold. I don't know, but a bit like you @ilovecherries , it just didn't work. It doesn't give me the joy in the same way the you and I both have @miracle, the botanical print.

MiracleToast · 22/07/2023 11:59

@ilovecherries @dudsville a welcome relief at it’s still rather high sale price then.. mine won’t be arriving until Monday sadly which means mums birthday windflower gown won’t either sadly. But apparently windflower is another name for anemone and I have the perfect anemone card for her to give tomorrow.

The lotus does seem striking, I wonder if I will have the same reaction..

Dee1224 · 22/07/2023 12:20

Hi all,

Just catching up with the thread after being off for a while, fighting with Toast over their failure to refund me quite a lot of money for returned items. It’s still not resolved - apparently they are having IT problems. I strongly recommend checking that you have been refunded for everything you have returned if it’s quite a lot, (like me🙃).

@Laska2Meryls- when I asked if Toast wanted the print back, they said no!

@dudsville - love the painted pjs and I now want a top like that for Pond.

Dee1224 · 22/07/2023 12:22

@No1Mousie - the green twill dress looks fantastic! Did you have to size down or was it tts? I would like to try it if it reappears in a later sale.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 22/07/2023 12:27

@Dee1224 That’s really annoying about refunds, IT problems or not they should get on top of it, no one can afford to be ££ out of pocket.

Someone up thread said they made a spreadsheet for their returns so I’ve done the same. I’ve been using 2 cc so it’s been a really good way for me to keep check.

Dee1224 · 22/07/2023 12:29

My last sale item came today: Yet another garment dyed tee - this time in brown. It’s a bit big, but I love these tees so much, I am keeping it. I now have four, which is a bit weird🤣

All my previous two orders have been returned. (I really do need to accept that I am never going to suit Toast’s linen trapeze tops!) Everything was either too big, too small or just oddly fitting, (the linen trousers with low side pockets were beautifully soft, but huge in the crotch - I looked like I was wearing clown 🤡 pants!)

My total sale purchase:

Pond - love ❤️
Garment dyed round collar tee shirts - black (S - best fit), and chalk and moss (M - a bit big but too lovely to return!)

I would say, good for my cc not to have kept much, if only I had my refunds - 😠

Dee1224 · 22/07/2023 12:31

@Theteapotsbrokenspout - I agree a spreadsheet is a good idea. I have had to chase up Toast a few times recently- last time was because they only refunded me for a tee shirt and kept the money for the rest of the order! That was resolved quickly - this issue has been dragging on for days with no resolution 🙃

Dee1224 · 22/07/2023 12:34

I am sending back my last sale returns today. I really hope that there isn’t a problem with this, or the one I returned yesterday, because that really is a lot of money 🤞

I was really good at the beginning of the sale, I only placed another order once I had been refunded for what I returned. Then I bought a toast pass and lost my mind. I will be more careful in future.

faustina · 22/07/2023 12:46

@Theteapotsbrokenspout - that's such a nice looking shirt. I wish Vinted would work for me. I bought a couple of things with no issues, and then it stopped accepting my cards. There was a long boring to and fro with their customer services who implied it was my cards (it wasn't) and then I googled and found it was an issue for a few people, so I just gave up. Might try again now as it's been a few months

@Dee1224 - that is a bit shitty of them - It's the last thing you want if you're buying and returning lots. Hope you get it sorted out soon. I don't think I've ever had a problem with refunds from Toast and can see mine have all arrived.

dudsville · 22/07/2023 12:48

@Dee1224 and others who have had messed up returns. Can I just check, do you get the email saying the refund has been processed? I'm just asking as I'm not good at then checking my bank account to make doubly sure and I realise this is stupid of me. So have you recieved the email and then it not appeared in your account?
