My last two orders pear alpaca tank.. Nope.. it wasn't just that the last one was just too big that I thought it wasn't working.. it was the sticky-out cap sleeves .. which stick out even more on me in the smaller size.. . probably much better on someone without my rugby players shoulders..!
French bue workwear trousers:- fit fine, but they are just a bit boring...

So thats three orders out of the last 4 going back..

@Noodle421 I sized up in the breen tee as I wanted a v loose look.. and it is a boxy fit anyway .. I would have gone two sizes smaller for a fitted version.. so I would suggest sizing down

@No1Mousie love the green dress and jacket together and the denim skirt is fab on you .. that's a definite 'wear it forever' piece
@dudsville and@Stoic123 ..I love both of those outfits .. love the charcoal shirt over the pond and the unloved trousers look fab

Thanks Laska, I’ll size down in the T

Noeggsontoast · 21/07/2023 14:36

@No1Mousie I'm sure it will be in the late summer sale in a few months. It has become a fave combo especially with this quite mixed summer, today it's muggy, warm but not very warm, so glad I can add the cardigan.

Stoic123 · 21/07/2023 15:27

@Noeggsontoast - cardi looks great colour match with the dress.

Noeggsontoast · 21/07/2023 16:36

@Stoic123 also goes well with the Aster dress from a while back too - red poplin with yellow and green flowers. Sleeves are wide enough on the cardi to take the dress sleeves without looking clumpy. It's been very useful.

dudsville · 21/07/2023 16:39

@No1Mousie , the grey overshirt is a thick cottonfrom a few years old from uniqlo, they did three that yr, this one and a very dark brown one that I also have, and I think a pale beige one. There's a really faint check pattern to them that lifts them just a bit. They're so easy for this time of year. I love your denim skirt and had to sit on my hands as I already have two previous versions and I'm sure they'll see me through to the end of my days!

😂@Theteapotsbrokenspout re " don’t know what made me think I’d have grown another 2 inches over the year 😅, returning."

Thanks for the pond love, I always forget about layering. This is very much a summer weight fabric but since I'm layering I think it can include spring and autumn with some tights or leggings.

@Noeggsontoast , that colour combo is absolutely wonderful! I was sorry that I didn't realise how useful that little cardi was until it was too late. I bet it's perfect with so many things.

I'm hopefully meeting a dear old friend for coffee tomorrow who is the one who is artistic and taught me about colour and what suits me (and about how to wear colours that don't suit me = grey over shirt). I find I tend to dress up a bit for her as she enjoys it so much, and then I play a little "oh, this?" it's fun and silly. I have so many options.... including a pair of ecru/stone/palest grey pascal DMs that I've not worn enough since purchasing, think I'll build tomorrow's outfit around the shoes and see what transpires!

Noodle421 · 21/07/2023 16:50

I like DM boots on other people very much and my sister looks great in hers but I don’t feel right in them especially with dresses. They don’t feel ‘me.’ I was thinking of getting a plain black shoe version to go with everything. Does anyone else have a pair ?

faustina · 21/07/2023 17:00

@Noodle421 - I used to have a pair, a long time ago. They were the greasy Gibsons I think, in black. Brilliant shoes, and they did go with everything. I wore them until they fell apart

agnesmartin · 21/07/2023 17:08

Last parcels arrived today and the Mariner trousers in denim are staying. Love them. I needed a smartish trouser. They're slightly snug at the waist in the 14 (I'm not a 14, more like 16/18 elsewhere) but they'd be too big everywhere else in a larger size.

The other keeper is the Utility dress in slate. Gorgeous. And fills a gap in my wardrobe. Also a bargain at £65. If it makes it into the next sale, I might buy another!

Wasn't expecting to keep anything from these last hurrah purchases so making way for them by sending back the drift pinafore dress (which I like but already have the denim and don't need two in that style) and the tie neck navy top which I've tried on a few times but I'm never happy with how it looks.

Other items in the latest orders:
The tie waist denim dress which did nothing for me.
A ruffle neck top - I knew this wouldn't suit me, but hoped.
The scoop neck stripe cotton tee with long sleeves from the current collection. Lovely colour but very thin material and a bit narrow at the shoulders for me.

Have enjoyed the sale, and done well (including that denim skirt @No1Mousie very useful piece) but glad its over now. Next job is to clear out my wardrobe to make room for all the new pieces and put in some moth protection. Thanks for all the chat and advice on that a while back. Hadn't occurred to me they'd be an issue at our temperatures.

agnesmartin · 21/07/2023 17:18

Actually - re the scoop neck tee - it's not very thin material but thinner than I was expecting.

faustina · 21/07/2023 18:00

I @No1Mousie that skirt is beautiful! Can you remember the name of it? A line skirts don't suit me but slightly slimmer ones might work

neveradullmoment99 · 21/07/2023 18:29

Noeggsontoast · 21/07/2023 14:22

@Stoic123 @dudsville @No1Mousie loving all your outfit combos.

I have those fawn trousers and love them. I've not paired them with my navy Hampton top yet but you've inspired me to do so.

@Laska2Meryls love that tee with those trousers. I really have enjoyed wearing them so much these past few weeks. So light and comfy.

Joining in with a pic, my toasty outfit today is the Maeve dress and alpaca cardigan with Fracap Olas and a Kate Sheridan mini rhythm bag.

Can I ask what size you got in the maeve dress and what size you are?

dudsville · 21/07/2023 18:32

Anyone up for a post sale pjs party? This is my evening contribution (previous sales purchases!)!

Toasties: Looking great for High summer and holidays
No1Mousie · 21/07/2023 18:32

@faustina I am ridiculously pleased with it. It’s the side button organic indigo denim skirt from the sale, and it seems almost identical to the current season’s offering.

JoanofArkansas · 21/07/2023 18:58

Hello. I've been lurking for some time but have popped into the open to ask a question. Can I ask @agnesmartin what size you returned in the drift check pinafore dress please? I've not been getting on well with the new sizes. I'm looking for an XS. I hummed and hawed for so long then ordered size too large. Thanks a million.

agnesmartin · 21/07/2023 19:10

Hi @JoanofArkansas

I think I've called it the wrong name ... I've just checked the order and it was the Cotton Linen Pinafore Dress in slate, not the Drift Check Pinafore that I was talking about. Though I did try that earlier in the sale, seems like months ago. Sorry! Don't let my poor memory relurk you!

JoanofArkansas · 21/07/2023 19:21

Thanks anyway @agnesmartin 🌻. I'll maybe ask them again next week to see if any returns. Although I have the denim skirt and gansey coming tomorrow so may have to rethink if they are good.

Noeggsontoast · 21/07/2023 19:29

@neveradullmoment99 I bought a size 8 in this dress. The bust is fitted. I take in the high street a 10 in jigsaw and me+em, 8 in seasalt and M&S.

agnesmartin · 21/07/2023 19:53

@JoanofArkansas I have the denim skirt and really like it. My only niggle is the slit at the front. But I'll forgive it that because it fits well, is a good length on me, the material is good quality and it's not too voluminous - I don't get on with a-line. Plus it was very good value at £70.

The drift pinafore is gorgeous - love the shape - but the neckline just didn't work on me.

Enjoy Toast delivery day! ;-)

faustina · 21/07/2023 20:00

If that denim skirt comes back in the next sale, I might have to try it, though maybe I should just concentrate on what I already haven't worn before buying anything else. The Fracaps arrive tomorrow (hopefully). Does anyone know, if you return something you bought online to a shop, can you exchange instantly for a different size, if it's the same thing?

PretLea · 21/07/2023 20:41

@faustina I don’t think you can exchange with an online order in-store - at least that’s been my experience. The staff will process it and it’ll go back to your original payment method.

faustina · 21/07/2023 20:43

@PretLea - thanks - just an idea in case they don't fit to try to avoid the tedious wait

MiracleToast · 21/07/2023 20:52

Snap @dudsville

Toasties: Looking great for High summer and holidays
JoanofArkansas · 21/07/2023 21:03

@agnesmartin Thanks. Again, I'm not sure I've ordered the right size. I think the front slit will be more forgiving than the wrap over denim skirt I've been wearing (M &S) I love it but I've embarrassed myself once too often on a windy day🙄

ToastCosILoveIt · 21/07/2023 21:06

Noodle421 · 21/07/2023 10:47

@ToastCosILoveIt apologies, I sent you wrong information about the trousers modelled on wearsitatkat Instagram. They are clearly different trousers from an earlier season although they look similar. The photo popped up on my current feed and I assumed they were the new ones. I was rushing between jobs, slightly on automatic pilot and didn’t twig even when I referred to the April date ( duh 🙄). Hope you are getting on ok with the new ones !

Oh no problem Noodle, just lovely that you wanted to help.

dudsville · 22/07/2023 03:56

Great minds @MiracleToast !
