@ilovecherries
I got some lovely ecru crops from Seasalt .
Sorry can't remember the name and as per the page won't load but they are nice robust ecru denim.

ToastCosILoveIt · 20/07/2023 12:09

@Stoic123 , trousers have arrived, think they are a keeper but just need to try them on with a few jumpers etc. I ordered medium and I am a high street 12 apple, 5ft 5. They fit me perfectly, not too tight or too loose. The bagginess somehow works without looking too oversized or adding pounds - I think as someone said, they manage to hold their shape without looking stiff and this gives them a good line. I would definitely buy them in navy or black. They fall right on my ankle and I think they will look good in winter with DMs and a neat sweater or in summer with a fairly fitted tee. Parchment is a good description of colour, definitely a little different to cream.

The tie neck cotton linen tee in rich navy arrived. I took a chance on a small as it was sold out in medium and it fits. It will be useful under jumpers in winter when you want the option of taking off the jumper inside. The cream version in a medium is coming tomorrow.

@ilovecherries - I think you should try those trousers in a smaller size before you give up on them

Noodle421 · 20/07/2023 12:18

@ToastCosILoveIt ooh, thanks for your feedback on the trousers. I’d love them to work on me but was also a bit concerned about how voluminous they may be. Just need to try a pair on I reckon. I saw them styled on Instagram worn with very voluminous long sleeved Breton top from Kin, olive green ankle socks, DM shoes ( I think), trendy sunglasses and a tote bag. They looked fabulous on the person. I will try and link a photo if I can track it down again

ToastCosILoveIt · 20/07/2023 12:22

@Noodle421 , I would love to see that photo if you can find the link.

faustina · 20/07/2023 12:29

@ToastCosILoveIt - I saw those trousers in the shop the other day and they did look very nice. I've put them on my wishlist

Noodle421 · 20/07/2023 12:32

@ToastCosILoveIt check out wearsitatkat Instagram - Harrogate. Lots of nice Toast clothes shots. Quite a few pictures of the trousers - 17 April is photo I’m referring to. Several pics

Countmeout · 20/07/2023 12:47

I got those tie neck tees too @ToastCosILoveIt . So useful. Much neater than an ordinary tee and as you say can be worn under things in winter.

BettinaInDenmark · 20/07/2023 12:50

I dithered a bit, not really decided if I should get the sale items in my cart. And now the website sale is no longer available, so I guess a heavy decision was lifted from my shoulders 😎

neveradullmoment99 · 20/07/2023 12:55

I think some of those images are with the fisherman trousers ( ecru ones)
They were absolutely awful looking on me.
I think I have a thick waist, which means I have to buy the 14 but my legs are slim so just look way too baggy.
I was thinking that the new ecru ones with the elastic might be a better fit.

Noodle421 · 20/07/2023 13:06

The little striped jacket is growing on me. I keep having a look at it

neveradullmoment99 · 20/07/2023 13:12

Noodle421 · 20/07/2023 12:04

I crossed with @Countmeout . I love everything about the Annie’s except for the bum issue ! I’d love Toast to bring out the Ashley style in ecru - I think they did a few years ago.

I love the annies as well. I have them in indigo and black. They only thing I hate is the top button. Its so tight! Would love them in ecru. I did actually see that they came into the sale but had also ordered far too much.
Ive sent the linen dhal dress back today. It just seemed too big on the shoulders in the 14 and tbh, am trying to shed some lbs so I think it would end up too big for me. Will see about it if it is in the next sale.
Today I am wearing the lilac sundress with a black tee. Saw someone wearing it like this on instagram. Thought it looked nice. It was sunny when I got up and now its overcast and actually quite cold.
As for the peacoat. Its still hanging up on a hanger, looking at me. I may still return it.

neveradullmoment99 · 20/07/2023 13:14

Was also looking at an old jumpsuit I had bought a couple of years ago. The lilac one [ same as the sundress] and was dismayed to see that the stitching is opening up in two seams. Not really Toast quality is it?

neveradullmoment99 · 20/07/2023 13:14

Can I say I have hardly worn that jumpsuit. Maybe twice.

Noodle421 · 20/07/2023 13:20

I don’t think the Peacoat got a lot of love on this thread but I love mine. I like wearing it in autumn with a crewe neck jumper and jeans. Gives a little bit of elevation to a plain outfit without much effort. A little bit of brightness on a grey day. It is slightly higher maintenance than other jackets perhaps because of the linen component of the fabric but I’m happy to give it a little steam every now and then. I loved it straight away so it was a keeper for me.

Noodle421 · 20/07/2023 13:20

Sorry, that was for @neveradullmoment99 - forgot to tag again !

dudsville · 20/07/2023 13:21

@ilovecherries, I love the tank on you (doesn't look like a tank though), very cute, and the green collared short sleeved top is stunning, really elegant, and makes me whish I'd tried it. I don't get the farmer giles or frumpy vibe from the trousers and button down tops, but they don't have the wow factor visually to me, but I'm not a fan of those items, so do they tick a box for you?

Dee1224 · 20/07/2023 13:21

That’s not good @neveradullmoment99 - I guess you could take it to Toast for repair, but maybe also email them to let them know.

Countmeout · 20/07/2023 13:27

I moved the button on the Annie’s this year which makes them . It moves quite successfully. My ecru ones were from the John Lewis sale. I think they cost me £65 which now seems ridiculously cheap.

I tried the fisherman’s trousers, far to bulky for me. Everywhere.

I’m currently wearing the fan dress as I was had to look smart for online meeting this morning. Thought about the bust issue which I see someone mentioned to do with the new drop Fayre dress online. I stuck a yet another pin in my dress this morning, very free with puns at the moment as I bought a wee tin of them, now this dress I would say is currently slightly big on me ( lost 4 lbs - yay) and still you feel a gap threatening at the bust. When is it about the cut of the bodices that cause this. Is it the wrong placing of buttons? Anyhow I’m going to take it off shortly, like @neveradullmoment99 its not a bit warm here but at least not raining.

Countmeout · 20/07/2023 13:27

More comfortable 🤦‍♀️ makes them more comfortable.

dudsville · 20/07/2023 13:29

I had a few things arrive today, unexciting. The Medium jumpsuits were far too huge, the ecru trousers with the front pleat needed to be tapered for me, shame as the waist was nice and the pleat hung as it's meant to. An orange cord trouser, the one with the front seam, they're a nice fabric but I already have this pumkin colour cord in a flat front trouser, and the front pleats were screaming for attention "look at meeeeeee!", if they hadn't been so narcissitic I probably would have kept them and they'd have then been redundant in my wardrobe, so just as well. And the charcoal check cashmere top, the one I bought to go withthe trousers for the most luxurious home wear of my life... top was too small. So it's all going back. A few more things on their way. Looking forward to tooting up the damage and starting my Financial Recovery Plan!

Countmeout · 20/07/2023 13:29

🤦‍♀️ and pins not puns. I’m away now. My brain has obviously been overworked all morning.

dudsville · 20/07/2023 13:33

@Countmeout , I don't have the bust issue, but I have bought a pack of those little hook and eye metal clasps that are on bras, to put on some things, like the firth dress, to turn the open v neck into a peephole - ot a fan of the notion or the term but you know what I mean! Might be worth getting some of those? Tehy're less faffy than the plastic snaps.

dudsville · 20/07/2023 13:38

@Theteapotsbrokenspout , how annoying about the scarf, they may get a return and be eager to rectify their mistake???

dudsville · 20/07/2023 13:44

I agree with your rule @Noodle421. For the most part I need to put something on and look in the mirror and kind of fall in love a little bit, no matter the cost. Sometimes an item is such a good price for the quality of an item that this leaves me dithering for a day or two though! The only exception is the plain tees, but then they still have the meet the other criteria. What I need to remember is the new learning for me about sundresses and necklines, that I can be more flexible and consider minor alterations to raise the nckline or wearing them under something, and then I get to have things like the wonderful Pond that will have its first outing tomorrow!
