Going strong for more than 8 years! Full of great reviews, reports of empties and despair over our ever growing stashes!

The amazing value made the M&S AC irresistible to me and many others on this thread. I have an AC and a lovely pair of sheepskin gloves and four pairs of thermal socks.

FiveShelties · 07/11/2023 18:51

@CorneliaStreet thank you, it will be very good to get home.😁

StarryNightAddict · 07/11/2023 23:05

Thank you for all the congratulations on the new job 😃 it is shift work so I have some problem solving to do in regards to my own kids and dog and school pick ups but hopefully I can figure it out 😂

Experiment627 · 08/11/2023 04:28

@FiveShelties hope you have a safe trip home xxx

A. couple more empties

josh wood radient shine hair oil Really like this one would have RP if not on my self imposed buying ban and anyway i think there is at least one if not 2 hair oils in myACs

8hour hand cream good quality and sinks in well would recommend

i've got some Nuxe oil does anyone know how.good it is on hair? I definitely don't want to buy more hair oil when i know I will probably get some in AC next month anyway

Congratulations on the new job @StarryNightAddict.

Safe travels @FiveShelties. Shame about the M&S calendar - it seems to have sold out very quickly this year. I think it is one of the better value ones and in a price bracket more people are likely to go for.

@listsandbudgets - I have used the Nuxe oil on my hair a couple of times years ago but can’t say I saw much difference as I recall. But it’s probably worth trying to see if it at least gets you through to getting one in a calendar.

FiveShelties · 08/11/2023 08:35

@Experiment627 @Peridot1

Thank you so much. I am so excited, like a child! Does happy dance😁

Fraaahnces · 09/11/2023 01:56

@StarryNightAddict So pleased for you re the job! I hope the people are fabulous. Shift work does take a bit of getting used to, but you might end up loving its advantages. (Having the house to yourself to chill in the daytime, for a start.)

CorneliaStreet · 09/11/2023 14:10

Another little Asian beauty haul - Cosrx propolis toner, Canmake Mermaid spf and Skin1004 centella ampoule. Very excited to try these!

@FiveShelties safe travels and I share your disappointment on the M&S AC front as just as I was weakening I saw it was out of stock - oh well

A few empties to report though…
Necessaire hand cream was lovely but I do prefer a fragrance
Molecules 04 pleasant enough fresh scent and I used it up rather than loved it
Darling Nikki wanted to like this but I do find some of the super pricey perfumes have a strong chemical smell to me so it ended up freshening the loo - sorry posh perfume
Biossance vitamin C rose oil nice enough but concludes it caused me to break out
Granado Rio Bossa soap this was in the Liberty Beauty drop and was lovely so might use some credit to RP
Malin & Goetz Detox mask no pic as the sachet got messy but this was really good. It fizzes up on your face to a foam and left my skin smooth so would probably get a full size

that brings me to 55/100

Oh I'm sorry that you didn't manage to get M&S @FiveShelties
They've always been in store for several weeks in previous years so I'm surprised that they've sold out so fast!

Congrats on the new job @StarryNightAddict. You definitely deserve some advent calendar treats! Smile

MidnightMeltdown · 10/11/2023 00:48

This week's empties:

91) Frank Body Sleep Scrub and Soak - I wasn't sure about this at first, but I actually really liked it. It left my skin sooo soft. Might RP at some point

92) Skin 111 Rose Gold Mask - meh

93) Ecooking Vitamin C Serum - I like Ecooking products. Keep meaning to buy more but never seem to get the stash low enough to justify!

94) Bare Minerals Gel Cleanser - this was quite nice but I don't know that I would go out of my way to rp

95) Lucia Magnani Face Cream - this has been hanging about in my travel bag for ages. It was actually a really nice consistency, but it's £195 for 50ml so I won't be repurchasing!

Total for the year: 95/130

I have enough makeup to last a nuclear winter also. I don’t know why it’s so hard to chuck out stuff I never use anymore, but it is. I have had a lot of them for donkey’s years and they must be off by now. Also, I’m 51. Am I likely to need an iridescent, purple-blue-shifting highlighter? Probably not. Let’s face it, do I even need highlighter at all? No. I almost never wear it. I don’t think it flatters me as much as a slightly glowy blush does. Speaking of blush… Powdery, super-matte ones aren’t floating my boat either. I have the Natasha Denona Glam Palette and use maybe four of the shades. Should probably depot the ones I don’t use, and see if any of my singles fit in the palette. Same with Kaja Beauty Bentos. I love some of the shades in all of them, but not all of the shades. Why don’t I depot them and make my own?

Fraaahnces · 10/11/2023 01:51

I forgot that my daughter “returned” a pot of the same Fig cleansing balm that I just finished. I had started using it before the finished pot and it went missing. The “Borrowers” had been. I finished what was left and I am opening my last cleansing oil atm. I have no more cleansing oils or balms stockpiled. I figure that I can actually justify buying a couple of new ones if they are on sale for Black Friday. I know I finish them up easily. (Because I genuinely enjoy getting all the crud off my face.)

FiveShelties · 10/11/2023 03:08

@CurlyFerret and @MidnightMeltdown thank you.

To be honest they probably did me a favour, I had quite a lot of stuff left at Mum's and still stacks and stacks at home. Delighted to say am now back in NZ and just waiting for my internal flight, with two heavy suitcases!

Enjoy your AC everyone.

Fraaahnces · 10/11/2023 03:30

Happy landings @FiveShelties! I hope you get to put your feet up when you get home and just “be” for a bit.

FiveShelties · 10/11/2023 03:34

Thank you @Fraaahnces I am so excited to be getting home, only a 50 minute hop to go. Sat here in Lounge with a huge smile on my face😁

CorneliaStreet · 10/11/2023 09:06

A few little empties:

Glow Recipe watermelon PHA & BHA toner - 10ml. Just a little sample but lasted for a good few uses. Really liked this, it felt very gentle and hydrating. Would consider buying a full size but have other exfoliating toners to get through first.

Biore Aqua Rich spf - 50ml. Lovely and lightweight, sank in straight away so no heavy sunscreen feeling.

Noble Isle shower gel in Rhubarb - 75ml. Smelled gorgeous. I would never buy Noble Isle as crazily priced but would happily receive as a gift 😀

Then just some perfume samples - Goldfield & Banks Ingenious Ginger (smelled lovely but a bit too masculine for me), Floral Street Chypre Sublime (not keen) and Sana Jardin Incense Water (more rose/patchouli then incense to me, but very nice).

@FiveShelties Someone very wise once said…

MavisMcMinty · 10/11/2023 10:31

Exactly what I was thinking, @Fraaahnces !

Even after a brilliant holiday I’m always glad to get home, so after an essential and sad mission like yours @FiveShelties it must be even nicer. xx

Experiment627 · 10/11/2023 11:52

🤣🤣🤣 I love the ruby slippers @Fraaahnces

I have one empty to report:

  • Tokyo Milk by Margot Elena body lotion: just a small bottle of it from a recent hotel stay. Everything else in the room was in bigger, do not take or you will be charged bottles, which I definitely think is the way to go with reducing single use plastic. As I have travelled extensively in this brand of hotel, the smell is very evocative to me. That said I have never seen this brand anywhere else but in a hotel.

@FiveShelties pleased your journey went well and hoping you got a duty free treat.

The Garnier 7 day body lotion is half price in Sainsburys £3

Experiment627 · 11/11/2023 10:00

@PomRuns thanks for the top tip!

I have two more empties:

  • Lidl Sweet Ginger Lily bath & shower gel: this a complete dupe for Molton Brown's Heavenly Gingerlily and I will RP if I ever see this again. Makes for a glorious bathing experience.
  • Primark squalane cream mask: was 50p! Do any of you find squalane to be drying rather than moisturising? This is not the first squalane product I have tried & always am disappointed.

Well I've been AWOL as had what I through was a bad allergic reaction to a new washing powder, 4 weeks and a tube of steroid cream later it hadn't gone. Turns out it's scabies and the whole family now have it. So I've not been using anything up at all really, maybe some hair products. It's bloody miserable but hopefully after the second treatment today it will bugger off :(

I have treated myself to the M&S advent colander to cheer myself up, its got some good stuff in from what I saw on the sneak peek.

listsandbudgets · 11/11/2023 14:03

@CorneliaStreet if you like rhubarb try the Lidl Molton Brown dupe of rhubarb and rose. very cheapnand smells amazing.. I've got the hand wash and look for exises to wash my hands

@Experiment627 i've got a bottle of the Lidl ginger lily in my stash. i'm using the Orange and Bergamot at the moment it's gorgeous

@LivingDeadGirlUK you poor poor person. I had a terrible infection of scabies in my early 20s and it made me utterly miserable until diagnosed by my GP... having been missed by GP number 1 who decided it was an allergy. The good news is the treatment worked and I did not miss either rash or itching. Hope they clear quickly Flowers
