Going strong for more than 8 years! Full of great reviews, reports of empties and despair over our ever growing stashes!

Some more empties. All my full size stuff seems to be running out at once, there’s a couple of other things that are probably only a day or two away from being done.

Le Mont Botanique rose water face wash - 100ml. I usually prefer cream cleansers, but I liked this gel one. Left my face feeling soft and hydrated.

Kate Somerville goat milk moisturiser - 50ml. A good, everyday moisturiser but overpriced, didn’t do anything LRP Toleraine doesn’t.

Aveda Cherry Almond leave in conditioner - 200ml. This was great, seemed to give my hair more volume while also pretty much getting rid of flyaways. Also smelled amazing.

Palmer’s Coconut Hydrate hand cream - 60g. Also great, really moisturising without being greasy. Only cost £2. I’m going to stop buying fancy hand cream and just get stuff like this from now on.

Plus a sample of Kayali Eden Juicy Apple perfume. Too sweet and fake smelling, smells like Haribo.

Another tube of seated queen empty (sob) and another of the little hotel tubes of conditioner gone.

Have already RP the Seated Queen but I reckon I can live without returning to the hotel in Paris to get more conditioner Grin

I've got about 5 bottles of shower gel which are half or more used but getting through very slowly as I rarely use the same one 2 days running. I've got plenty more stashed. A few tubes of hand cream in a similar state and a lake of perfume,, face washes and body creams not to add a massive mountain of soap - I feel like I've got enough soap to last five years at this rate!

SwordBilledHummingbird · 24/10/2023 11:33

Soap is one of my problem areas too! I have loads but each bar takes forever to use up so I'm just not managing to get through the soap stash.

MavisMcMinty · 24/10/2023 12:25

I’ve got half a dozen fancy soaps from various beauty boxes, three of them are actually in the bathroom, still in their fancy packaging but obviously soaps… and noticed yesterday my OH has bought a bar of Palmolive. Gonna have to live a very long time to run out of soap!

listsandbudgets · 24/10/2023 13:10

DP bought SIX bars of Imperial Leather last week to go alongside my piles of fancy soaps

Fraaahnces · 24/10/2023 13:32

@Experiment627 - Hada Labo isn’t known for its cleansers. Obviously I haven’t used any UK products either.
This is a useful link explaining their lotions. I would just buy these from Stylevana or YesStyle. You can read the reviews as well. (And look at the rest of the range like moisturizers, etc.)

HADA LABO Lotions Guide! FULL Range including all 9 products ✨

WE GOT AN UPDATE BABY!As some of you will know (since ya'll requested this from me 😆) the Hada Labo lotions had a renewal over the last 2 years - so here is...

@CorneliaStreet that leave in conditioner from Aveda sounds divine! Does it add to greasiness would you say?

Thanks @Fraaahnces 💜

A few more empties:

84) Original Source Mango Shower Gel - a little runny but fine. Lasted ages

85 & 86) Rituals Shampoo & Conditioner - these smell nice but didn't have any miraculous effect on my hair so I probably wouldn't bother to rp

Total: 86/130

Recent empties:

Ted Baker Violet & Bergamot Bubble Bath - missing from picture as DH chucked the empty. Fine, decent amount of bubble. Prefer oils so wouldn't RP.

Beauty Pie Coconut Blow Dry Spray - I liked this, nice scent and didn't weigh my fine hair down at all. Have RPd.

Beauty Pie Super Retinol night moisturiser - really liked this, lovely texture. It's low dose retinol though and I have moved on to Dermatica so wouldn't RP.

Dermatica adaplene/niacinamide/clindamycin - decided to try this as I've been getting bad breakouts for a while (and there was me thinking I only had wrinkles to worry about now Hmm). My skin has definitely improved since using, have RPd with the hope of seeing further improvement.

Beauty Pie concealer - a staple for me. Always got a spare in the cupboard.

Loreal Pure Clay Purity Mask - I had one of these but in a different colour/type and liked it, but this one was awful. Extremely thick and hard to spread. Was glad to get to the bottom of the tub, wouldn't RP.

86/104

@Experiment627 It didn’t make my hair greasy and I have pretty fine hair which needs washing every day (though it’s not as oily as it was when I was younger). I only put it on the mid lengths and ends though, not near the roots.

Experiment627 · 26/10/2023 08:56

Thanks @CorneliaStreet I will try and remember to give it a go once the Pureology one I am using runs out. Probably in about a year 🤣

Few more empties:

Clarins double serum. Love this. Think this is my 3rd bottle, will repurchase but 2 other brands to use first.
Richard Ward blow dry spray. I don’t think it did anything at all.
Otto have balm. Like but prefer L’occitane.
Kate Somerville goat milk cleanser. Fine for a morning cleanse.
Dr Teals body scrub. Cheap as chips but very good and I like the fragrance.

JMAngel1 · 26/10/2023 11:04

I think these posts are more enabling! I have a list as long as my arm now to try 😂

PomRuns · 26/10/2023 11:10

@JMAngel1 we also post about offers so that hopefully helps cancel out the purchasing (justifies)

listsandbudgets · 26/10/2023 11:58

Things that weren't meant to happen and did : Ordering the M&S advent calendar when the Liberty one is already stashed under my bed... well it is pay day tomorrow

Still some of it will go as Christmas presents / stocking fillers for DD and it's got 2 full size L'Occtaine products

PomRuns · 26/10/2023 12:04

@JMAngel1 sorry just realised my post might have looked a bit snippy - not intended at all.

@listsandbudgets enjoy 😀

MidnightMeltdown · 26/10/2023 12:20

@Buster27 and @PomRuns

The fact that we are all at 86 empties makes me feel weirdly validated - like I'm not doing to badly in using stuff up! 😂

PomRuns · 26/10/2023 12:30

@MidnightMeltdown I’m so torn re advents now I’ve got my stash more manageable.
it makes economic sense to but some though 😂

CorneliaStreet · 26/10/2023 12:54

I’m torn on advents too. I have more than enough stuff already, but I really want a calendar! I’m glad the Space NK one has gone out of stock as that was the one I was really tempted by.

Peridot1 · 26/10/2023 14:38

A few empties and a gone off from me.

Nivea deodorant - bought to take on holiday and have just been using it up since I got back. Have a few others in stash. And am going away again next week so should have just kept the travel one!

Sarah Chapman Overnight Facial - I didn’t wake up looking like I’d had a facial so not repurchasing!

Institute Esthederm spf 50. Seemed ok. Used it mainly on holiday in the evening.

Kate Somerville Dry Skin Saviour. Was a freebie a few years ago and I used it in my legs yesterday and realised it’s gone off. It stinks. So that’s binned! Shame as I hate waste.

I am trying to avoid buying an advent calendar. I bought Caroline Hirons Non Advent Advent Kit which is full sizes rather than minis. I have so much stuff I really can’t justify a calendar. And I’m going to the States next week so will no doubt buy stuff there.

MidnightMeltdown · 26/10/2023 15:53

@PomRuns I've been terrible with advents this year (as usual!), but I'm so happy with the ones that I've got!

I'm going to try to finish 100 products before I open any doors!

Nomoreheroics · 26/10/2023 17:32

I did an inventory yesterday. I literally have enough products for the next five years. So no more advent calendars for me. Sigh.

Fraaahnces · 27/10/2023 02:01

I was chatting with my DH in the bathroom when we were both getting ready for work. He had a dry, itchy spot on his face from shaving so I handed him some cream to try. Not only did he scoop about a tablespoon of the stuff out with his giant paw, (enough to do whole body, probs!), he then made the fatal mistake of asking why I “need all this stuff…” I explained that they do different things, etc. Some are medical, some are for the kids, (two have exzema) and the rest are not all “cream” as he said. I realised the best thing to do was baffle him with science and bore him with the details until his eyes bled. Luckily he didn’t see my stash! (Or know about the next lot coming - Tbf, it’s suddenly a billion degrees here and I’m buying sunscreen for everyone and skin has different requirements with different conditions.)

Experiment627 · 27/10/2023 03:23

@Fraaahnces you have such a lovely turn of phrase 🤣🤣🤣

I want an advent! I think I now associate it with having a lovely Christmas... I must sort this out especially as I have created an addiction for my son too & I have not bought any for him yet!

OP posts:
MavisMcMinty · 27/10/2023 04:06

I have now bought four (4) advent calendars, when barely a month ago I was thinking my addiction was cured by my birthday beauty box binge and that I wasn’t going to get one this year…

Might have a 3-month long AC fest, November, December and January.
