Going strong for more than 8 years! Full of great reviews, reports of empties and despair over our ever growing stashes!

More empties:

80) Dizziak Deep Conditioner - quite liked this. Left my hair nice and soft. I'm mainly using conditioners for coloured hair atm though, so it's been hanging around in the shower for quite some time.

81) Dr Dennis Goss Peels - I like these and have repurchased

82) LOccitane Immortelle Precieuse Cream - I liked this, but not sure whether I like it enough to rp

83) Dertmalogica Precleanse - did a good job at removing makeup

Total for the year 83/130

I am so sad to report that I have used up this AMAZING product and the equally outstanding matching shampoo. I decided to bleach the ever-loving F out of my already fine, blonde hair and dye it silver. Of course it went a shade of pale blue that would not look out of place on a My Little Pony. I had to re-bleach it and it took a few goes. Needless to say, my poor, Virgin hair was badly damaged and I give credit to these products for saving it. I have never had such luscious shampoo and the ampoule is light but SO effective. I just put two or three squirts on my hands and ran it through my hair and it rinsed smoothly and untangled. (Unheard of!) Interestingly, my hair appears to be thicker and I need to wash it far less often since using these products. I will buy some more, but not for a few weeks. My poor hair is going to have to suck it up with inferior products until my car is fixed.

Empties

mecca max night duty cream broke me out, was shit 🤣

the body shop vanilla pumpkin body butter loved, will repurchase before it’s gone as I think it’s a fall limited edition.

I also donated all my samples and beauty loop freebies last weekend, because they were clogging up my drawers and I needed to make room for the incoming advent calendar goodies 🤣 too many to list 😂

update on the work situation if anyone is interested, I don’t have anyone else to really talk to about it.
They did indeed decide to be petty and not pay out my annual leave or TOIL for all the overtime hours I worked. I need to do some more research but I believe I am entitled to it despite not giving notice under my award. It’s just a matter if I can be bothered dealing with them or not.

also, I have a job interview on Monday 😁

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 20/10/2023 07:36

@Fraaahnces your little pony line has me laughing out loud this gloomy morning.

@StarryNightAddict congrats on the interview and persevere with these people. They of course are going to make your life difficult but of course you can reciprocate too. Are you a member of a union so that they can
liase on your behalf?

@Experiment627 we miss you! Where are you?

Experiment627 · 20/10/2023 07:53

@Thereislightattheendofthetunnel I love the smell of the Childs Farm lotion but you are right it can slip.
Sorry for being MIA - I have been super busy this past week or so including a crazy 48 hour work trip. I tried loads of perfumes in duty free but alas still no Stella dupe found 😭😭😭

@StarryNightAddict I hope you had a good interview. And what bastardos your old place.

Have any of you lovely people ever had issues getting stuff over to Blighty from USA in the post. I have found this amazing seller on Etsy that will ship me a Stella dupe but the shipping is costly and then there is the thing of will it get through customs.

I switched from Wild deodorant to Fussy... still early days but something ain't smelling right 😵‍💫

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 20/10/2023 08:02

@Experiment627 Happy to see you here! Have you checked Divain for the Stella dupe? I think they have that one and is around 21 euros, although usually they have offers. I can’t comment on Stella specifically but they carry a lot of dupes and they are lovely for the price. I got myself Delina from them and it’s well made.

Experiment627 · 20/10/2023 08:08

@Thereislightattheendofthetunnel yes I did try that one already - I even did a video on it!
But please keep the suggestions coming!

OP posts:
Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 20/10/2023 08:11

@Experiment627 oh no! Sorry to hear that. That was my silver bullet there. I will keep my nostrils open 😏and let you know

Experiment627 · 20/10/2023 08:28

Thanks @Thereislightattheendofthetunnel
I also tried the EDEN one - which is the closest I have found so far. Apparently the yellow Victoria Beckham one might be a dupe but to smell that I need to get to Selfridges or buy it.

I have no idea about UK customs but I do know that perfumes are problematic. The reason so many advent calendars didn't ship to Ireland pre-brexit was because perfumes can't be sent. Liberty apparently substitute something for the perfumes in the calendar for Ireland.

It may be just an Irish post thing but I don't think so. You should check the post service's list of prohibited items.

That said, even if prohibited it could get through fine and not be noticed by customs. If it's cheap it might be worth a shot anyway.

Empties:

Elemis Superfood Kefir Tea mist - 100ml. Got this in an Elemis box from Next. Used it as a toner after cleansing. It was fine but I don’t think I need a product like this.

Shiseido Revitalising Essence - 8ml. From the Red beauty box I got for my birthday. It has a very watery texture and I didn’t feel it did much for my skin. Prefer the Cosrx snail essence.

Wildscience Juice Boost brightening serum - 10ml. Wasn’t keen on this, left my skin feeling a bit sticky.

Round Lab birch juice moisturising cream - just a single use sachet but seemed good. Lightweight texture going on but kept my skin moisturised all day.

M&S Autograph Riviera Neroli shower oil - 100ml. Didn’t think the formula of this was great, it emulsified instantly so it didn’t feel like it had time to moisturise my skin. Smelled really good though.

Christophe Robin scalp scrub - 40ml. Found this really weird. Didn’t like putting scrub on my head and it left the roots of my hair really tangled and hard to comb through, even if I used another shampoo afterwards.

Perfumes - 10ml mini of Girl of Now Lovely. Prefer the original. Also samples of Karen Timson Rosa de Rio and Gallivant Brooklyn. Loved the Karen Timson, smells like a mixture of rose and mojito, which is a lot nicer than it sounds! Tempted to get a full bottle. The Gallivant one wasn’t one of my favourites of theirs (Tel Aviv, Los Angeles and Gdansk) but was still nice. All Gallivant perfumes are really good quality and long lasting.

Alondra · 20/10/2023 09:48

I made a splurge 2 days ago. Because of my job I wash my hands very often and none of the hand creams I've tried over the years, convinced me.

I finally decided to spend money on a hand cream many of my colleagues had recommended - Aesop, Geranium Leaf Body Balm. It can be used on the body or the hands but it's wonderful as a hand cream.

Highly recommended.

Experiment627 · 20/10/2023 09:56

Thanks @OchonAgusOchonOh I will take a look at the rules. It is not cheap per se - especially as I need to meet a minimum order threshold but if I get a good dupe for Stella it will be TOTES worth it! The seller has also agreed to supply me her discontinued Arpege (vintage) dupe - which was my original signature scent, back in the day.

I have an empty:

  • Childs Farm 3 in 1 swim strawberry & organic mint: perfect 30 ml size to take swimming. Not that great as a shampoo but I plan on refilling the bottle and using for my weekly swims.

@StarryNightAddict - I hope you are a Union member. These people sound petty and I hope you get the new job and it’s full of lovely people. I know how drained I am when I work with one or two people at my work with whom I don’t gel at all. (Luckily most others make up for it.) Spent all day in the company of one of these energy vampires today and had to have a map when I got home. We shouldn’t be doing this to ourselves should we?

StarryNight unlawful deduction of earnings is one of the easy black-and-white things to win an employment tribunal on

OchonAgusOchonOh · 21/10/2023 11:27

Three empties.

AB the rich cream. I know it gets a lot of hate on here but it was my first time trying it and I quite liked. It was a ridiculously large bottle for a small amount of product.

Dr Hauschka rose body oil. I love this. It is a strong scent that lasts so preclude perfume usage. Will rp at some stage.

Revive dry shampoo. This is great and a definite rp.

I will check your review on that 😉

Experiment627 · 21/10/2023 17:43

@CorneliaStreet completely off topic but have you seen the documentary "Miss Americana" about Taylor Swift?

OP posts:
CorneliaStreet · 21/10/2023 18:26

I have, my daughter and I watched it a while back.

Might take her to see the Eras film next week. And 1989 Taylor’s Version is out on Friday!

Experiment627 · 22/10/2023 01:02

I would like to see Eras too but will wait until streaming @CorneliaStreet

I know I looked into all the Taylor's version things but am still confused about it all 🤪 probably cos I have been reading up on it in the dead of the night, like now, when I should actually be sleeping but night sweats etc have woken me.

OP posts:
Experiment627 · 23/10/2023 06:52

I have an empty:

  • St Tropez self tan purity bronzing water face mist: I liked the concept of this - you just spray a fine mist over your face. I think it has enabled me to keep a healthy glow going for way longer than usual after my holiday in July. Sometimes I did get the usual self-tan whiff 🤢 but not always. I might try a different brand and see how I fair - I think I got this from a advent calendar or box or something. Defo not full size.
OP posts:
Fraaahnces · 23/10/2023 07:07

I like the body version of that one too @Experiment627. I made the mistake of using a different one the other day and it’s already all patchy on my wrists from washing my hands. Plus - I stink.

Experiment627 · 23/10/2023 07:30

@Fraaahnces 🙈🙈🙈

OP posts:
Experiment627 · 24/10/2023 09:33

I have another empty:

  • Hada Labo (UK not so good version) gentle hydrating cleanser all in one: actually I found this quite stripping and even when miles away from my eyes, they no likey.
