Going strong for more than 8 years! Full of great reviews, reports of empties and despair over our ever growing stashes!

@Experiment627 I use mine several times a day. I apply liberally after brushing my fangs, after hot drinks if I get one at work, after lunch, in the car on the way home, before bed. (I don’t wear lipstick or carry tubes of chapstick, plus I wear a mask and work in industrial-strength airconditioning.) If I were to use the same one every day (I like to swap flavours) I am sure I could use it in three months. If you are using just before bed I can see you getting a year out of it. I don’t worry about the 12m use by because Koreans are very germ-phobic and have put in ingredients to deter them. It contains a very small amount of alcohol and zinc sulfate which are antimicrobial and Dehydroacetic Acid and many antioxidants which are preservatives.

Experiment627 · 10/09/2023 10:17

Thanks @Fraaahnces I apply at various times throughout the day - I think mine has been open for about 18 months 😳 I am not dead yet - although I do currently have a horrid cough.

Three empties this week:

BYBI oak milk cleanser - 150ml. Finally finished this. I’ve been using it as my second cleanse in the evening pretty much every night for the last six or seven months. It’s a lovely cleanser, doesn’t strip the skin at all and leaves it feeling really soft. Now going to try and finish off some of the half used cleansers I’ve got lying around before I open up a new one.

SVR vitamin C serum - 10ml. I really like this, feels really hydrating.

Fugazzi Orange Crush perfume - 10ml. I think I got this in a Cult Beauty scent edit. It’s an ISO E super and citrus perfume, like Molecule 01 & mandarin, but a bit sweeter. Wouldn’t repurchase, but it was ok.

I come with tidings of joy. A miracle product for sensitive, acne prone skin (DT’s 17 both with eczema). This stuff treats it with our old favourite ingredient - tranexamic acid. It is a gentle spot treatment that doesn’t dry and irritate the skin. It can be tapped onto active zits many, many times per day and doesn’t chew a hole in your face. It works FAST, too. I tried some on my post-waxing rash and boom! Gone overnight with no residual inflammation. (That NEVER happens!) It’s Japanese and it’s cheap.

Sounds fabulous @Fraaahnces.

Dd also have sensitive skin and eczema. Last year was a very stressful year at uni and she ended up very spotty. This year will also be stressful so it sounds like a good investment.

IndianSummer78 · 10/09/2023 20:40

Wow @Fraaahnces that's amazing

I've finished up Simple Eye Makeup Remover. Didn't remove my waterproof mascara despite the bottles claims. Ended up using it as a toner to remove the last of the cleanser, was ok at that job. I won't RP

Experiment627 · 10/09/2023 20:53

@IndianSummer78 I am just about to report tha same empty from Simple. I hated it! Made my eyes all dry and irritated. NEVER RP!

OP posts:
CorneliaStreet · 10/09/2023 21:09

I’ve also got a bottle of that Simple eye make up remover. I’ve given up on for my face and just use it for cleaning eyeshadow brushes. It doesn’t even do a good job at that!

IndianSummer78 · 11/09/2023 13:58

Finished this today.
Olay eyes collagen peptide cream
Who knows if it did anything? I guess you'd have to do one eye only to see if it made a difference. I put it on top of everything else, usually at night. I prefer the feel of the HA gel one so I'll not RP this one

Some empty moisturisers:

Ultra Violette SPF30: Not bad, I usually slather on Ultrasun but we’ve had a really dull cloudy rainy July and August so I tried this from (iirc) the Liberty hyperpigmentation kit back in April or May. Not too stinging on the eyes. Not sure I’d repurchase, as I say, my go-to is Ultrasun which is probably a lot cheaper than this and only needs applying once a day.

Kate Somerville Total Repair Cream: Another beauty box product, from the Hearst Red box a few months ago (still on sale and well worth it IMO) and iirc would cost £140 at RRP! No better than any £20 moisturiser, but nice enough. I used it mainly as a night cream as I don’t seem to have any of those atm. Christ no, I wouldn’t repurchase, I couldn’t afford to, but I’d happily use it if I got it again in a box.

Gatineau Water Cream: Nice light gel texture, nice smell, not worth repurchasing but OK. Can’t remember which box it came in.

Now I have to find a new moisturiser in my stash but from memory I seem to have mostly oils and serums.

Few more empties. I'm trying to keep up with using things as I usually get a few gift sets and perfume at Christmas, then I normally treat myself in January to something nice so need to make room in my cupboards and Dh's cupboard.

Joule's nourishing hand cream- I really didn't like this. The smell was horrible and the cream didn't do much for my hands. It came with a hand exfoliator but I keep forgetting to use it.

L'occitane Intensive repair shampoo- I got this in an AC,it lasted ages. My hair felt amazing and clean. Will probably rp when I get through my stash.

Calm soft cashmere and tonka bubble bath- this was in a gift set from Asda. It smelt amazing. I used it as a shower gel as I don't take baths that often. It lathered up nicely.

Banana boat aloe vera gel- I have already reviewed this, this was my 2nd bottle,no need to rp as my tan has nearly faded.

Some more empties for me

25, M&S pure day cream - from an advent - love this and will rp I have really dry peri menopausal skin and it worked really well without anything that might irritate
26: Good genes - not sure about this skin felt on but not sure it made a difference to it
27: Malin and goetz advance renewal moisturiser - only a small sample - was really thin so wasted a lot too small sample to really tell if it was any good2
28; dear nikki perfume- loved this would rp but they have just increased the price by £40

More empties:

Garnier 7 day hydrating lotion. A firm favourite.
lumene night cream. I liked a lot. Rich but not greasy, would rp.
molton brown orange and bergamot shower gel. Really like this fragrance, so summery. Have a back up.
Ren cleansing gel. Not great, bit bored of Ren.
otto hand cream. I like it - not as good as l’occitane though.
Neom hand cream. Smelt nice but a rubbish hand cream.

68/80
30 samples.

Empties.
Collection powder blusher. Excellent. Lasted 20 years without going off 😁
Two packs of false lashes. They were so long they touched my eyebrows. They didn't sit right on my eyes, think my natural lashes pushed them upwards

wheresmyshoe · 14/09/2023 07:53

Spacemask heated eye mask - why....

I had slightly sweaty eyelids but that's it.

loz12345 · 14/09/2023 09:09

@wheresmyshoe I thought that about them but used one when I had a headache that wouldn’t shift and it worked wonders

wheresmyshoe · 14/09/2023 10:27

I should have hung onto it @loz12345 as I get migraines. At least I'll know a use for any more if they turn up in boxes or GWP.

SwordBilledHummingbird · 14/09/2023 10:39

@wheresmyshoe They do nothing for my headaches or migraines!

MavisMcMinty · 14/09/2023 12:31

The several I’ve tried neither warmed up nor smelled nice, but I accept I may have missed the secret instructions on the packet. I left a Liberty review giving it one star and they kept emailing me to confirm if that’s the review I really meant to leave (every other review they’d published was 5*)! Must go back and see if mine is there.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 15/09/2023 12:34

5 empties

No 7 exfoliator - love this

Lé Mara body butter. My favourite body cream but they seem to have discontinued it 😟

Decleor BB cream. Love this for light coverage in the summer

Hydro bank moisturising mask. Meh. Didn't do much and felt quite sticky.

Sam McKnight hair mask. I just used it as a conditioner.

Three empty sunscreens. Two the same brand - Skin1004. The Airy Fit one wasn’t my fave. Felt like a generic western sunscreen to me, although it wasn’t drying at all, which most western ones are. I used it on my chest and neck to use it up. I hated rubbing this in. Most KBeauty sunscreens don’t involve any effort. It left a slight white cast in eyebrows and belly’s hairs. The Watery Fit one is just lovely. Not my favourite, because I enjoy even more hydration and moisturiser, but it’s pretty great. No cast, no stinging. Perfect under makeup. The Mermaid Skin sunscreen has a slight green tint. I use this to balance out my makeup as it’s a teeny bit yellow-based. My skin is pale olive, and this works perfectly. This is an amazing formula. I love the glow I get from this and the clear one, but it’s a tiny bottle.
Apart from being sunscreens I just realized that they all have something in common - CICA (Madagascar Centella). I bloody love this ingredient!!!

Peridot1 · 16/09/2023 08:17

An empty from me. Got this in a Cult Beauty Sun Edit and quite like it. No white cast. Doesn’t sting my eyes. Hydrating enough I can use without moisturiser underneath as I use hydrating serums and mists beforehand.

About to move on to a Purito sunscreen as recommended by @Fraaahnces.

some empties.

the.Philip Kingsley shampoo.and conditioner were in the M and as summer beauty box. really like both will probably RP.

the cultured cleansing balm was in a beauty drop box earlier i the year. it seeks to do my skin OK but definitely not a RP because of the vile smell.. I Imagine it could be replicated by mixing petrol and stale urine.

This week's empties:

69) Elemis Lime and Ginger Body Butter - gorgeous scent, loved this

70) Oskia Serum - meh, nothing special

71) Scientia Eye Serum - not quite empty, but can't get the last bit out and don't especially want to either. It smells horrid and doesn't do anything as far as I can tell.

Total for the year 71/130

Great progress there ladies! I have a few body wash products that I used up.
Here is the picture:

Palmolive up shower gel: the smell in this one is quite refreshing and spa like. Must be the eucalyptus it it. A bit runny but lovely regardless. Would rp one if I finish up my stash first.

Calcot spa calm scrub: if you had told me this was s a body cream I would have believed you. A scrub leaves a lot to be desired. No lather, too creamy and barely any kernels to be called a scrub. I loved the smell, not the texture. Won’t Rp

pantene hair mask rose and biotin or something along these lines. I loved the smell, texture and slightly tingly feeling in my scalp as it has mentol in it. Would rp.

Linx dark temptation deodorant. My husband uses it. He liked it. I don’t mind spraying from time to time as it is very gourmand. Have plenty to use up.

Aveeno body wash: a staple at home

Happy naturals body wash. Won’t rp. Didn’t do anything for me
