Victoria Beckham has great skin, how?

How to get the 'glossy' groomed look. She's transformed her skin, how? Ditto Donna Air, what's the secret? She's just radiant and neither are young.

Is it possible for the ordinary 40 or 50 something to look like an A lister? And WHAT is it, exactly, that they do that makes them look so much better with firmer jaws etc?

Lots of money and people doing their makeup I imagine. Pretty sure in her spice girls days she did suffer with break outs so maybe good lighting as well?

mondaytosunday · 13/05/2023 12:37

As @Plump82 says. Money, access to great dermatology, make up artists, clean diet, stable weight, probably non smokers. Good genes help too. And they (PR people) control their image so are going to try their best to only get flattering images published.

Peverellshire · 13/05/2023 12:39

It's more than that, in the flesh it's like a candle lit from the inside, particularly Donna Air. Laser peels? I am also noticing that friends' 20 somethings are having nose jobs and a good one can entirely change your face for the better, not just improve your nose. I'd be worried it would go wrong!

Facial massage is supposed to be good, 90 mins twice a week with top facials etc, beyond most of us...

I think it's interesting how you can transform yourself, form average to very attractive, almost...Esp if you are stylish and confident. We are not stuck with the 'faces' we're born with.

Victoria Beckham has the most inactive face . Not a frozen-botox face ( no idea if she's had that done ) but no smiling , no frowning , thankfully no silly pouting .
So no laught lines or frown brows .

I'd advise caution after a good looking acquaintance of mine had a nose job for a slight bend in the nose. I feel awful for them as they were so striking before (I wonder if they were aiming for perfection) but in profile it now looks like a banana or an inverted ski slope. The tip is strange too. They went to someone good and it was expensive.

Peverellshire · 13/05/2023 12:49

@flowergrain I would be too scared to mess. Has VB had a nose job? If so, it looks fab but likely 'they', the celebs, invest in the best. I was surprised how it souped all the face completely and not the nose in isolation, in this example. Filler can make a difference too? I saw someone who had a subtle amount to volumise the bridge I think.

I wouldn't like Victoria's face! Her skin might be good condition, but her lips are dreadful (like Jennifer Anniston's I think are similar lips) and she's gone too far with filler and the frozen look.

And that's being able to afford the best. Ive seen better, and more subtle, lip filler done by local aestheticians.

KirstenBlest · 13/05/2023 12:52

A friend had a nose job when young. Her sister is attractive but not as pretty, and it's the nose. Someone else I know is almost beautiful but her nose looks wrong - nice nose but doesn't match her face. Jennifer Grey effect.

flowergrain · 13/05/2023 12:53

I don't know if she's had a nose job, but the lower face work she's had done looks quite bad to me.

Even Catherine Zeta Jones. The lips too odd and possible cheek implants. Beautiful skin though...unless that's filters.

Peverellshire · 13/05/2023 12:57

@KirstenBlest I think the very best 'nose' surgeons are likely tough to find, afford and get to see, too. I've seen a nose job do the opposite, but high risk. Yes. Jennifer Grey, looked fab, so sad.

Catherine Zeta Jones was/is stunning. A friend of mine was in the chorus line with her in the West End, shows before fame...CZJ got further as was so unusually striking. It's interesting to see how the more average looking can upgrade their faces, can an 5 out of 10 become a 9, etc? Sorry to reduce women to numbers but just to make it v clear what I mean. Charisma, style, class and sex appeal also count for so much. So all is not lost for us plain Janes :)

I can get glowing like that, if I eat clean, work out, and go to the sauna regularly. More than what you put on your skin, it’s what you do to clean yourself inside out. Nothing drastic, just good fish and proteins, vitamins, big salads and water .
Also, absolutely NO SUGAR.

flowergrain · 13/05/2023 13:02

CZJ still is stunning I agree. The pressure to have work done to maintain that must be great.

HeadNorth · 13/05/2023 13:04

VB is famously rigourous with her diet - all fish and vegetables, so that will help. I just couldn't be bothered - but then, my looks aren't my currency.

flowergrain · 13/05/2023 13:04

You're right about the no sugar, sadly @ElizabethTaylor

She did.

One of my sister's pointed it out the me at the time as she has problems with acne also.

I think VB finally managed to treat her acne so she rarely suffers from it. Plus the usual fillers etc of someone with loads of money.

She has tiny pores, laser? Just a glossy, polished, look...So different from her youth, when you'd expect skin to have the radiance of youth, even if acne.

Dental work, is that worth the investment, even if teeth 'ok', does it help with jaw line/chin/lower face 'definition'?

VB has transformed herself and looks entirely different.

Though I think Kate Moss has more beautiful skin and if she's had work it's minimal. She always looks amazing.

Peverellshire · 13/05/2023 13:23

@flowergrain KM has incredible bone structure, her skin seems to vary. She looks like she's not quite so 'careful' and has a zest for life.

OP posts:
flowergrain · 13/05/2023 13:24

Agree! I think the incredible bone structure helps.

JaneJeffer · 13/05/2023 13:26

She gets some kind of laser treatment. She posted it on Instagram.

Loria · 13/05/2023 13:30

She has pcos doesn't she? Undiagnosed when younger, which would explain the struggles with acne and also why she's had to work on her skin. She does look great on it though.

Ah, I think it's that which can help you 'youthify' your neck too - RF? Any idea of the kind? Will google. Some of it sounds scary, extreme with lots of downtime. Wouldn't want the one where your whole face falls off!

Ah THANK YOU! @JaneJeffer week's downtime, I THINK it is THIS that gives you that lit from within look. I am a total wimp though!
