Victoria Beckham has great skin, how?

How to get the 'glossy' groomed look. She's transformed her skin, how? Ditto Donna Air, what's the secret? She's just radiant and neither are young.

Is it possible for the ordinary 40 or 50 something to look like an A lister? And WHAT is it, exactly, that they do that makes them look so much better with firmer jaws etc?

The Picture of Dorian Gray

It's a book about a guy who never seems to age but has a portrait in the attic which is withering away, brilliant book.

gogogoji I'm guessing you never go out in the sun?

I can't imagine giving up sugar I must say, it's just so delicious

I have a colleague who has lost ten year of her face in the ten years I've known her.

From what I can tell she eats very little sugar/carbs, has Botox, has regular facials, takes a she'd load of vitamins and collagen, and has some cream that can can only be bought in Harvey Nichols. You probably can get it somewhere else's, but that's where she gets it from and is very twitchy about using it regularly.

She's also had braces as an adult, and very subtle lash extensions, eye brow lamination. She also has regular spray tans so not to look pale. These are all things she's told me about.

She's never talked about laser treatment, and my friend who had it regularly didn't look any better for it.

I love the sun but I do try to cover my face. I lived in sunny harsh climates for half my life. This is what I blame any hyperpigmentation on. I wear spf50 365 days a year and reapply as and when possible. If I am in the sun for any time, I try to pop on a hat but I get hat hair so that's generally just on holidays. Otherwise I just do my best to not hang around facing the sun in the middle of the day.
When using Tretinoin it's a must to protect from the sun as the Tret makes your skin more vulnerable to uv damage. I just accept that after a holiday I'll have to wait a couple of months for the pigmentation to calm down

Who would you pick. On VB, assuming not filtered, was going on recent make-up selling vids she's done. Looks pretty fantastic there, at least superficially.

Patsy Kensit was ridiculously pretty in real life and as a child, with the most beautiful mouth, lip shape.

I'd pick Anna Richardson from Supersize V Superskinny. I was watching old ones on youtube and was desperately trying to workout if she had a filter applied all the way back then.

Filters?

Yes,this!

You are viewing her on Instagram I presume and don't see her regularly in real life? She'll have a huge light shining at her while she films plus some reflectors too PLUS a load of make up.

I remember seeing Joanna Lumley about 20 years ago , I met her at an event , looked great but she had LOADS of foundation on, properly caked on and I imagine it was because it photographs well.

Bear in mind VB is in the beauty business, she needs to make herself look good on Instagram to sell her skin care/beauty.

I think it is the 5 avocados she eats each day as well as the diet, exercise, money and lifestyle.

stardust777 · 31/10/2023 11:59

@gogogoji your skin is absolutely amazing! Would you mind sharing the particular products you use? e.g. which exact moisturiser and serums? Also, what times do you apply the products?

You mentioned being nearly sugar-free. Would you mind sharing what you typically eat to keep your skin in great health?

workshy46 · 31/10/2023 13:09

I think the biggest mistake they all make is messing with the lips. It never ever looks good or natural.
I think Jennifer Aniston had great skin and even the over doing the fillers would have been ok but the lips.. it has totally ruined her face.
Same with VB although not as bad.
