Expectation: girl band combat look
Reality: looked like I was about to head off on a military exercise.

6th form leavers' dinner at Catholic school.
One of the girls came in the same dress as Sister Mary Joan

Guess which look I was going for and guess which look I ended up with!

I tried out a black polo neck once, hoping for effortless chic. DH said I looked like Steve Jobs.

I've got tears of laughter rolling down my face. Thank you vipers.

When jumpsuits were fashionable in the early 80's, I pleaded for one and when I proudly put it on, my mum looked me up and down and said lovingly 'your bum is just in the wrong places for that'. And you know what, several cycles of jump suits/ boiler suits/ playsuits later with a very, very few exceptions she's still absolutely right. They should suit me, but yet I look like a brawny Jessica Rabbit.
Wafty romantic feminine clothes are def not so much a milkmaid look for me, but a 'tuck a feedbag under each arm' farmers wife vibe. I'd quite like to look like a Viking warrior tbh

I don't know what this might mean about my life but the only times I laugh out loud is on Mumsnet. You British people really have a wicked sense of humour. Us, French people have no self-derision at all, except me of course 😊 but I often come across as a lunatic to my peers.

I had a go at home, once. Ended up resembling a monochrome mandrill and took it all off again in a hurry.

This reminded me of another fashion low point.

DH said I looked like the Rock and offered me a bum bag to match

Reality = Crumpled shapeless frumpy librarian.

Gah.

I can't carry off loungewear/tracksuits of any kind, even at the gym. I just end up looking like Vicky Pollard.
