I've caught the ear piercing bug and can't decide what to get done next. I currently have 3 lobe on my left and 4 lobe and tragus done on my right. Looking for inspiration.
Please show me your beautiful ears ☺️

Ugh just typed out a big message and lost it. Bloody new phone. How are the sore ears today?

popgoesperfection · 17/04/2023 12:52

my ear is feeling so much better thankfully. i'm still taking the antibiotics and been mega careful with it, keeping my hair tied up and only going near it when i need to.
that's such a shame @FunkyMonks. maybe once your others have had a bit more healing time you'll be able to add something else.

FunkyMonks · 17/04/2023 13:10

Yea I think that's what I'm going to do now not rush in to get it re done and risk the other two going bad that and we are going away in June and I want to be able to go swimming.
Glad to hear yours is doing better 😊

Ratatatatatouille · 17/04/2023 16:54

I recommend letting the ones you have heal first. I had 3 healing all in the same ear and lost two of them. Wanted to save the conch as it was a repierce anyway and my favourite. Once I took the other two out it settled and is almost healed (can finally sleep on it 12+ months later!)

Swiftbushome · 17/04/2023 16:56

That's interesting @Ratatatatatouille . I wonder what is the maximum in one ear in that can heal easily? I currently have 2 cartilage plus a lobe healing on the same ear. I wonder if I've over done it. I hope not.

When I got my helix and forward helix done at the same time, the piercer was happy enough to do them as they were quite far apart. She said she wouldn't want to do for example a double helix or double forward helix together, or a tragus and forward helix, as if one gets infected it's likely to spread to the other one.

popgoesperfection · 17/04/2023 18:15

@FunkyMonks hopefully after your holiday you'll be ready to try another 🤞🏻
that makes sense re multiple piercings and infection spreading. ears aren't a big area are they and sticking a piercing in it is a foreign object.

FunkyMonks · 17/04/2023 19:07

Yes I too wonder if I did the silly thing getting the rook done in same ear live and learn I guess and this was my second attempt at having the conch done different ear this time around but still I think I'll leave it be allow the two I have still to heal I really don't want to be silly and get the other ear done as that's just going to cause lots of issues sleep being the top and not being able to listen to my music at the gym already can only use the one earphone.

I may give it a a good couple of months and perhaps look to try again November/December time.

But defiantly going to go in and get piercer to check over my helix.

I suppose on a plus I still have nice Tish Lyon attachment to go on helix when it's healed up.

Ratatatatatouille · 17/04/2023 19:09

I don’t think it’s a thing - I think it’s just personal healing times and depends on you, your lifestyle, if you get any illnesses, vitamins you take, diet and lifestyle etc.

my piercist was happy enough to do them and I healed two lobes concurrently during that time too. I also have two other piercings healing in the other ear (one is upper lobe so some cartilage).

mot may be coincidence but until I removed the two flats, both those and my conch kept getting absolutely from - big yellow blisters that would pop and then be full of blood! No infection.

it’s putting me off my final piercing, but I want either a daith or a snonch in my other either and then I am done! Just waiting for these last two to fully Heal first

popgoesperfection · 17/04/2023 19:49

ooh i bet you can't wait for it to be healed @FunkyMonks. i've been looking at hoops but i know it'll be a looong time before i can change it.
i think i read somewhere that most pierces are happy to do up to 3 at the most at one time, i suppose then though you've more holes to feel sore and suffer possible infections.

FunkyMonks · 17/04/2023 20:15

Yea I don't think I'll be rushing to get it re done.
I'm also due in to have my hair dyed and cut soon so I've got to try and find something to protect the two I still have from getting accidentally bumped or pulled on.
But can't not get my hair done in need of that getting sorted 🤣

Swiftbushome · 17/04/2023 20:17

I need to get a haircut soon as well. I'm not worried about the tragus. Since it's right by my face it never gets knocked but I was thinking I might put a plaster over my helix piercing.

I need my roots done too and am not sure what to do about the piercings. I wondered about covering them with medical tape. Not too worried about them getting knocked, they're about a month old, but I don't want any dye getting in there.

GudiBrallan · 17/04/2023 21:42

@AreolaGrande Really love the earrings in your lobes (sparkly silver huggies with a spike) -where are they from, please?

Crayfishforyou · 17/04/2023 21:51

I’ve got 5 in one ear and 6 in the other.
i also have a tattoo of a gecko behind my left ear

broccolibush · 18/04/2023 09:42

Good idea to protect your healing piercings at the hairdresser. My forward helixes are 6 weeks old and I had my (short) hair cut and coloured on Friday. One of them got a bit bashed whilst the stylist was washing the bleach off and by Sunday morning was swollen and angry, bleeding and leaking when I cleaned it. Fortunately it’s calmed down a bit now so I think keeping it clean will avoid any dramas but bugger me was it sore - so swollen that I could feel the tightness when I moved my jaw.

FunkyMonks · 18/04/2023 11:25

Yea that's my biggest worry I've already lost my conch piercing I don't want to risk my helix and rook.
I did spot on Amazon these plastic ear clips that go over your ear does look daft but I guess I'd rather look daft and protect my piercings than risk getting an infection or accidentally ripped 😬.
I appreciate it's not hairdressers fault they can't keep in mind about piercings when trying to do their job.

Swiftbushome · 23/04/2023 14:28

So rook or faux rock guys? What do you think? I'm not doing my left ear till the end of summer but my plan is triple lobe (which I already have), conch and with one of these. I was thinking faux BC easier for cleaning but am know thinking of glasses arm knocking the back. WWYD?
On the right I have a triple+ stacked love, helix and tragus and contemplating a daith one day. Thank you!!

FunkyMonks · 23/04/2023 14:33

I have a rook and personally find it easier to clean it's also tucked away so doesn't get caught on anything.
Only a month old so still fairly new I have had to help of my husband to clean the bottom though if I haven't been able to.

Loved my conch miss it already not due in till Tuesday to see piercer to check on my helix and I think I've already made the decision now not to have it re done with summer now around the corner I want to be able to go swimming with my kids.

So I'll be leaving it all now until autumn winter before I decide on another.

Do like flat piercings as well.

NowYouListenToMeFella · 23/04/2023 20:14

Swift. I have my rook almost three months and never had any bother with it. Found it painful to get done but no issues since.

It's nicely tucked away in your ear, nothjg gets caught on it and i managed fine with the cleaning.

HashBrownandBeans · 23/04/2023 20:23

Terrible lighting in the bathroom 🤣

Swiftbushome · 23/04/2023 20:35

Thanks both. I think maybe a rook would work better then.
That looks lovely @HashBrownandBeans

Well I ended up getting my conch re pierced again i told myself I wasn't going to but I loved it and missed it so currently back to square one again now with the healing all over again 🤣🤣.
Managed to get my hair dyed and cut today as well and hairdresser was fab she only accidentally bumped the back of the conch twice which to be fair wasn't that bad just an accidental tap rather than a pull and lot less than I was expecting to happen here's fingers toes and everything crossed now that this time next year I should hopefully have a helix rook and conch all healed and happy

Hope everyone else's are doing good as well.
Anyone else gotten a new piercing or booked in for one? 😊

Ratatatatatouille · 26/04/2023 21:50

Love that! My conch is my utter fave so I don’t blame you.

nothing booked but still planning either a daith or a snonch. I can’t choose!

FunkyMonks · 27/04/2023 06:35

Both are cool piercings hard to pick one.
I'm hoping if all goes well with the three I have I want to get flat piercings in the other ear or anti tragus but will be waiting until next year now give these a chance to heal hopefully fingers and all crossed that they do.
