I've caught the ear piercing bug and can't decide what to get done next. I currently have 3 lobe on my left and 4 lobe and tragus done on my right. Looking for inspiration.
Please show me your beautiful ears ☺️

Does anyone have any advice on this please;
I'm healing a forward helix and a conch - both done in September last year and neither are healed yet. Do you think it'd be a bad idea to get a flat done now in the same ear? Should I wait till they're fully healed?
It's sort of now(ish) or not for another 6 months or so because I don't want to have to worry about a new piercing over the summer.

My forward helix is a year in place and though it's healing nicely I've had a couple of episodes with it where the skin has swollen , sometimes pus . I've done the salt-water-and-leave-it treatment to draw it out ( on a muslin cloth). Even now a year on it is tender if I touch it but ok

As I cannot sleep on that side ....I got my same-side tragus done a month ago .
It's been well behaved , I sometimes get hair wrapped round which I have to untangle .

For me it made perfect sense as that ear is protected anyway I instinctively sleep off it .

Swiftbushome · 28/02/2024 06:27

That's interesting that it's still playing up after a year! I think mine is still a bit swollen after 6 months. I haven't had it downsized yet.
I think it seems a bit of an annoying spot for healing for some reason
I really do want to get another on the same ear but I'm worried that will make the forward helix take even longer to heal. I'm not worried about the conch though really. That seems to be almost done.

@Swiftbushome sorry I never answered your question I don't think it would be an issue to the other piercings to have the flat done I more or less done the same thing had my conch and helix done last year in Jan and then last year in March decided to have my rook done in the same ear whilst also getting the helix and conch downsized.

And then I had to get the conch re pierced my own fault late April last year 🙈 because I tried to swap the attachment myself and couldn't get it back on or through the hole again because it closed up so fast due to it not being healed and as you know I'm not having the best time trying to heal my conch piercing right now but I don't think that's got anything to do with other piercings I had done as my rook and helix are both fine just think the my conch is the hardest one to heal for me.

I really want a flat done and some lower cartilage piercings done but I've got holidays coming up soon and want to be able to enjoy the swimming pools and beaches without worrying about infections abroad so I'll wait now until end of year to have them done but defiantly go for it be better now in the cooler months to have a new piercing to heal than the hotter weather 😊

FunkyMonks · 28/02/2024 07:08

Also this might sound crazy but I would go and get the helix labret downsized as soon as that could be causing it to swell and feel tender if the bar is too long and your catching it and causing it be irritated get the piercer to check it over as you may find once it's downsized you'll have no issues with it.

I need to get my Tragus checked in a few weeks so I;ll get the helix checked then,
The last time it flared up was Oct and before that June so I siuppose its just one of those things ?

This could work out to be an expension addiction here , I want my daith changed and if I need to change the forward helix and the tragus , I'm looking at three nice news pieces.
Then of course I need to decide what I want .............Grin
And while I'm there what;s stopping me getting something else pierced (it'll be my ears nothing too exotic ) , I mean , I'll have the spare jewellery , they can sterilise it ....

Swiftbushome · 01/03/2024 13:23

I'm planning to go in this weekend and see if I need a downsize and probably get a new piercing as well.
What are you thinking of getting 70? Sorry for some reason my tagging isn't working!
I want something at the top to balance it all out a bit. What do you think? Flat? Faux rook? Helix?
The conch will eventually be switched out for a hoop probably.

I would say either a Rook or a flat would look lovely

Swiftbushome · 01/03/2024 16:11

Thanks for your thoughts ☺️ has you conch settled down at all since you got it switched back to a labret? I do think it's sometimes just the jewellery. My tragus was still not properly healed at nearly a year. I was almost ready to give up on it when I decided to switch it from a gem (that I think used to dig in) to a flat gold disk and it literally completely healed within a week or 2 of being swapped out. Hopefully it'll be the same for you

MintIcecreams · 01/03/2024 18:04

@Swiftbushome a flat would look lovely.

That's interesting about your tragus. Mine has a gem that spins constantly and keeps getting irritated. Might try the flat disc to see if it helps.

You are all making me want to get my next one now.

Settodonotdisturb · 01/03/2024 18:23

@Swiftbushome i can’t get a good photo of mine but I have really similar ear shape and exactly the same piercings! I added two flats (sort of as my ear isn’t flat) like my edited picture of yours. I like the balance of three at the top, three at the bottom and one in the middle
I have a helix in the other ear so didn’t want that

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 01/03/2024 20:13

@Swiftbushome

Ooh I think a helix would suit your ear ,, I love the snuggie fit hoop look .
My DD has a pair of (lobe) earrings like your forward helix , the 3 stones .

I saw some lovely jewellery when I got my tragus done but want to avoid anything that might catch (I wear a mask all day at work)

A new one might be a 3rd lobe on the right , but I already have 4 piercing on that ear .
If I got something flashy on my daith (other ear) then I'll resist a new piercing on there .

FunkyMonks · 01/03/2024 21:05

@Swiftbushome it's still early days yet for me to be sure that the bumps are going down I'm keeping an eye on it and hoping it does settle that's what I've got on the front is a flat disc so really hoping it helps it as I don't want to loose the piercing really like the conch.

Swiftbushome · 02/03/2024 17:55

I got a flat in the end. The piercer thought the faux rook would be hidden a bit. Here it is. I'm really pleased. What do you guys think?

I think that ear is done now. I don't want it to look too "busy". The conch will be switched out for a ring but other than that I won't be doing any major changes.

Ooh I like it! Is it BVLA?

Thanks! I'm calling him Cedric 😂. Yes it's BVLA.

Definitely get your conch! You can wear sparkly things in it, put a ring in it, drape some chains around your ear from its, its so versatile

Plus I personally found it way less painful than my helix piercings and it healed easier too for me with it being tucked away

Haha I love being enabled 😁

It's definitely going to happen. I'm trying to decide on the jewellery. I want my first BVLA and either a sunray or afghan.

Swiftbushome · 05/03/2024 18:02

Nice. I love the afghan. Have you seen the Nanda as well? It's quite similar to the afghan.
I'm not as keen on the sunray personally it sort of reminds me of a spider or maybe a jellyfish 😬. Both are creatures I'm scared of! But since I now have a snake in my flat I guess that also gives a lot of people a no feeling so ignore me 😂.

OP posts:
Swiftbushome · 05/03/2024 18:04

Oh god I take that back! I just googled the sunray again and a totally different piece came up. I actually LOVE it.
God knows what I was looking at before. Sorry!
