I've caught the ear piercing bug and can't decide what to get done next. I currently have 3 lobe on my left and 4 lobe and tragus done on my right. Looking for inspiration.
Please show me your beautiful ears ☺️

I love your little moon on your flat!

Mine so far, I need to wait for my flat and helix to heal before I can start on my other ear. I can’t wait to start, though I’m not sure what to go for yet. Also need to decide what I’m putting into my new piercings on the jewellery change in a few weeks!

Anyone have a nose piercing? I'm toying with the idea...

I've got my septum done at moment that healed no issues had it now for over a year in the past I've had my nose done I can't now though because I wear glasses and I think it would open it up for being bumped snagged etc.
What is it that you wanted to know about? Healing wise it was easy for me had no issues with it no bumps etc I had the small studs in while healing.

Got my tragus done today and another tattoo booked. One more ear piercing to go and then I think I'm done, it won't be for ages since the fake one is doing the job nicely

The industrial is being a bit of a pig because of the lumps but I'm putting asprin paste on which seems to be doing the trick.

I had a nose piercing done 10 years ago when I was in my 40s and I love it. I wear a flat rose gold disc for everyday and loads of people don't notice it and are surprised when I wear something more noticeable and assume it is new.

I also have triple lobe, helix. forward helix and daith in one ear. Double lobe, rook and conch in the other. I'm toying with the idea of an additional helix or tragus next

I definitely vote for the tragus. For me it was pretty much pain free to get done and although I only had it done yesterday I forget it's there. I only remember when I go to scratch my ear or like earlier put my earphones in.

With my history I fully expect it to start causing problems but I have issues when it comes to healing piercings for some reason.

Well 10 weeks after I got my helix and forward helix pierced, and having had no bother at all until now, the helix has come up in a horrible sore lump at the front. I can't get hold of my piercer but remembered what the lady who did my daughter's lobes told us - if any lumps come up, apply tea tree in a carrier oil to dry them out. They gave us a bottle of 'ready to use' tea tree in a little piercing kit. So I've been using that a couple of times a day. It seems to be drying out and is going crusty, and isn't visible at all from the front as it's hidden behind the earring, but it's bastard sore.

The forward helix has been no bother. I bought it a very tiny little diamante flower labret from With Bling and the diamond bit fits on my existing titanium labret post so I can just swap the front without having to take it out. Haven't worn it yet, saving it for a special occasion.

Ugh I'm at the pool today withy kids and I just noticed that my stack lobe piercing was sore. I put my hand up to check it and there is no back but it oozed some sort of clear brownish liquid. I think I must have knocked it at some unknown time and the trauma caused the oozing and I've lost the threaded end. I don't know how long it's been put but it feels like it's closed up at the back. I'm really annoyed. It's been done since Feb and I thought it was fully healed 😞

OP posts:
FunkyMonks · 18/06/2023 13:55

If it's your lobe you should be able to push that back through as it's soft not cartilage I'm forever pushing my earrings back in my lobes when the skins covered the back when I don't wear any earrings in them for a while they never fully heal over etc.

Get some Neil med spray or TCP to give it a quick wipe over before trying to push the jewellery back in lobes normally heal about 8 weeks tops.

Swiftbushome · 18/06/2023 15:20

Thanks for your advice. I don't think I can just shove it back in unfortunately. It's one that was done a bit high, so even though it's lobe at the front it was a bit of a weird angle and slightly thorough the cartilage at the back. Which is probably why it wasn't totally healed about 16 weeks after it was done. Of all my piercings it IS the one I'm least sad to lose which is something. But I'd still rather have had the choice. The skin seems to have closed up at the back although the front of the earring is still in place which is weird. I actually wondered if my ear had eaten up the back for a bit but I can't feel it under the skin and I think that would hurt quite a lot! So I guess later on when I'm at home I'll just take the front out too and keep it safe. It was fairly expensive so I don't want to lose it. Maybe I'll get a new stacked one above my second lobe at some point and just use the earring front for that.

Swiftbushome · 18/06/2023 15:22

@FunkyMonks it was you that had to get your conch re-pierced because you couldn't get it back in, wasn't it? How's that getting on?

OP posts:
FunkyMonks · 18/06/2023 15:29

Yes i had to have my conch re pierced it's ok so far I've got to book in the next two weeks to get it downsized again hopefully this time I won't lose it again lesson learnt not to fiddle with piercings on my own with no one else about to give me a hand 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣.

Ahh damn shame it's a Sunday could have perhaps popped into the piercers to as them to help you with it.

I'm defiantly giving piercings a break for some time now need the three I've got to heal my helix played up few weeks back had a lump on it seems to have gone now but I was gutted thought that was doing well considering it's almost 6 months old doh.
My room is on and off one minute it feels great next it can feel a little sore emotional rollercoaster waiting for these three to heal fully.

Swiftbushome · 18/06/2023 15:45

Blimey a lump at 6 months what a pain!
Yeah I'm not getting anything else done till September now. I don't want to have to think about not getting piercings wet over the summer. I was contemplating getting a little tattoo that I've wanted for a while but tbh even that would probably stop me swimming with the kids for a couple of weeks. So not worth it at the moment. I always find September a bit depressing. End of summer and back to school feeling - which is stupid since I don't work in a school so I'll only be taking a week and a half off work over the summer anyway and by the time school starts I'll be more than ready to have someone else look after the kids for a few hours a day! I think it must be a hangover from when I was at school. So anyway having made a plan to get my rook and conch pierced and maybe my nostril at the same time will mean I have something to look forward to 😁

FunkyMonks · 18/06/2023 16:27

Tattoos are so much easier for healing three weeks at most and then you can carry on as normal again just have to ensure once healed that you always put suncream on it if that part of skin is exposed to regular sun.

My next thing is to save up for my other thigh to be tattooed so piercings are defiantly a break for me.

I bought a taper/insertion needle similar to the link below to change my forward helix’s. There isn’t much space for my big fingers to just push the threaded end in so these are brilliant as I’m able to attach the threaded part to it and pull through the hole.

Due to the pointy tip and taper shape I was able to slowly open and stretch another piercing I thought had closed.

Loving these!

No pics from me, but I have R side tragus, conch and 2 lobes, L side I have 2 loves & daith (I really want a L forward helix and R rook).

OP- I had no probs sleeping on my L side when I had my daith pierced- I think because it's inside? It's the side I lie on! I nearly passed out having it done though 😅 (the only one that's ever happened with!).

MintIcecreams · 18/06/2023 20:26

What a fab thread (and fab ears)! I've just started getting piercings again after not having any since I was a teenager. Got my first helix and third lobe a few weeks ago and planning to get a double helix this week. I fancy a conch too but I'm scared of the healing. Is it as bad as I fear?

Swiftbushome · 18/06/2023 20:41

Oh god I'm a bit worried now. I can't get the front bit out. Wtf? It's like completely stuck. Is it possible my skin could have just healed over the earring back without me noticing? It doesn't look like it, but why else wouldn't it just come out?

OP posts:
FunkyMonks · 18/06/2023 20:43

To be honest the conch doesn't hurt I think it's luck whether or not you have it heal without issues or heal at all.
This is my third attempt at having my conch done first ever time I had issues with a lump and decided to take it out second time was my own stupidity was healing lovely but after having the jewellery downsized after a few weeks of having it done I found I couldn't clean the front properly and decided to try and take it off myself and then couldn't get the bar back in it closed over instantly so had to have it re pierced again so this is my third attempt been few weeks now another two weeks I'll have to go back to have it downsized 😬 here's hoping it heals and this time next year I'm saying it's healed and easy to change jewellery myself 🤣🤞🏻

FunkyMonks · 18/06/2023 20:45

Was it a flat back like a labret bar? If so I can't imagine it healing over that but wondering why the front won't come out if it's just the attachment that's in your ear perhaps see if you can go to piercer tomorrow first thing if possible and get them to check it out

MintIcecreams · 18/06/2023 20:52

Thanks @FunkyMonks (cool name). I like to mess with things and don't trust myself not to try changing it myself. I fancy a rook too, I guess that's harder to change by yourself so might be better for me 😄

Swiftbushome · 18/06/2023 21:02

Bloody hell! That was super stressful. It had healed over!! That's why I couldn't pull it out! We managed to push from the front a lot and eventually could just see the flat back poke out from UNDER MY SKIN. My husband managed to get a grip on it and we got the bugger out. My ear is throbbing a bit now. And it's bleeding a little bit. How the hell could it imbed to the point that I couldn't even see the back without me noticing?
I knew from the first checkup I had at my new place that that particular piercing was a bit shit. It was a strange angle which meant it sort of veered off into cartilage.
Anyway it's out now so just sprayed half a can of nielmed (well maybe not quite that much) and hopefully that's the end of it. Feeling a bit shaky and traumatised now though. Think I need a glass of wine!

OP posts:
IHateLegDay · 18/06/2023 21:13

I had a triple forward helix, conch, tragus and a 12mm stretch.
Now just have the tragus and stretch but loved it all.

FunkyMonks · 18/06/2023 21:15

Rook is easier to clean and you don't need to downsize that so only ever needs to be changed once it's fully healed it is a bit of a mare though to try and change yourself because of how tucked in it is etc. I only know this from seeing my husband try and change his one 🤣 so I think I'll have mine jewellery changed either by him when the time comes or back to piercer and have them change it for me but that's a long way away yet at least until this time next year if I'm lucky and no issues.
Thank you regarding the screen name 😊.

FunkyMonks · 18/06/2023 21:20

@Swiftbushome ohh no that sounds awful is the jewellery still in or have you taken it out altogether?
Odd that happened but I suppose it's not impossible lots of scary pics of the butterfly back earrings getting embedded into the skin and infected so I guess it does happen but still not nice to have to go through.

Keep an eye on it and dare I say it might be worth just giving it a wipe over with TCP to ensure it doesn't get infected not loads of it just a small amount.

I know the neilmed is fab but I have used TCP if I've had an issue only once and then back to the neilmed.
