Anyone love this brand? Or not? I love some of the boots and bags, they are £££ though. I dislike their "customer of the month" competition, as you have to already have bought something to be able to enter 🤣

Also, they seem to be turning into a bit of a "uniform" for impractical country style.

Disclaimer- I'm neither stylish nor blessed with the money to buy lots from them. Neither do I fit the tweed skirt/white jeans, slim young thing look (annoyingly)

I was a total addict. Thousands and thousands of pounds worth of blue boxes.
Then realised it was a bit cult like and their prices are completely unreasonable for the quality of their items.
The club page is full of people just posting 'great!' on everyone's photos to be in with a chance of winning a voucher Hmm. And there's definitely a certain type of 'uniform' that they all seem to wear!
Wish I'd never discovered the damn brand!

Happygirl79 · 14/02/2023 18:33

Nice ladies fashion but certainly overpriced

Bemyclementine · 14/02/2023 18:52

@Justonedayatatime11 yes, cult like is right! Do you still in loads or did you sell on? I really can't afford to buy loads but there are a couple of things I'd like, I'll need to save up though.

I always find it odd that people buy boots that cut off their circulation, need plastic bags to get on etc. For the price ud want them to fit from the start!

OP posts:
Justonedayatatime11 · 14/02/2023 18:56

@Bemyclementine I still have all of it, 99% unworn Hmm. I've noticed that things aren't selling at the moment and I don't want to sell at a massive loss.
It is absolutely ridiculous that when you pay £400 for a pair of boots you're expected to warm them with a hairdryer/wear nappy bags on your feet/cut your circulation off until they give!

Bemyclementine · 14/02/2023 19:09

I have noticed whole collections up for sale, people went a bit mad over it at one point.

I honestly don’t get this brand. They’re always mentioned on here and raved about but they just look like very safe, very boring boots for people who want to look like Kate Middleton. What am I missing?!

ginsparkles · 14/02/2023 21:56

I have a couple of pairs and love them. I didn't need to do anything crazy with them. Had to wear them with a skirt and tights for the first couple of times and then over skinny jeans.

They are expensive but I have had my first pair for years now and they are still going strong.

GCAcademic · 14/02/2023 21:59

I wasted money on a pair of their boots that I never wear because I can’t be fucked with the hassle of getting them on and off.

Oliveandbay · 14/02/2023 21:59

So many 'Influencers' on insta forever being gifted free stuff from F&F. Sickening

DomesticShortHair · 14/02/2023 22:04

Their customer service is really good. But the stuff is overpriced for what it is, the quality is ok, but not great. And I agree the club page is a bit of a cult that attracts a certain sort who are always posting. But you can say exactly the same about MN, to be fair (fax).

thenightsky · 14/02/2023 22:09

I've got XL long legs and their knee length boots are the only ones I've ever found that do actually come to my knees. I bought them 2nd hand off ebay for a lot less than new price. They looked like they'd never been worn, and came in the original box. I do wonder if someone bought them and couldn't get them on when I read all the posts on FB about plastic bags. Luckily I have skinny feet and ankles so they seem to be made for me. No issues with getting them on and off.

tartlets · 14/02/2023 22:21

I have some heeled Reginas and the over the knee Verbiers for winter, I've got a matching bag for my Reginas and various tassels, they are very flattering boots and the Verbiers are genuinely the best present I've ever bought myself as I live on a high hill farm and walk a lot- I stay warm and dry head to toe in them with my longline down coat.

I do a lot of YFC stuff and they are part of the 'uniform' for the mums, the young farmers themselves wear dealer/Chelsea boots and despite being offered Boudicas my daughter flatly refused to be seen dead in F&F as it's too 'middle aged'.

Nice quality but I get annoyed with the persistent posters who put up staged photos on the Facebook group- it all feels a little 'try hard' tbh. Most people round here slum it in ariats and ancient joules hoodies rather than tweed skirts and fur trimmed capes- I'd look like a right knob if I copied some of the F&F 'looks'.

Butwhytho · 14/02/2023 22:26

It’s been massively overhyped for a very long time now, it’s not a recent thing. It’s very strange, the cult like hold it has on people, and I also cannot abide the countryside influencers who are gifted F&F constantly, it’s enough to put you off any brand tbh!

Galadriel90 · 14/02/2023 22:30

Awful! Super naff.

Bemyclementine · 14/02/2023 22:33

@tartlets slum it in Ariats has made me laugh 🤣

OP posts:
Bemyclementine · 14/02/2023 22:33

I don't do Instagram and have no idea about influencers so that part has passed me by.

OP posts:
CrotchetyQuaver · 14/02/2023 23:06

PMSL I slum it in old dubarrys!
The club page is an absolute joke with the staged photos, most of them are just grandstanding "look at my £100k car and I've got 17 pairs of boots and 12 handbags I wonder how much is actually paid for in full rather than on credit Complete bullshit Confused but I find it strangely compulsive reading. Do they have nothing else going on in their lives they can get on with other than posting photos of themselves in silly outfits?

I bought myself a pair of explorers for Christmas, they're very nice but I'm still breaking them in. Certainly won't be wearing them every day and trashing them, they're being kept for best. I have some suede boots with a tassel I bought from House of Bruar, much cheaper and very comfy.

Don't think I'll be starting a collection somehow... I'm so tempted to stick up a photo of me in my fancy boots with my tatty old Land Rover, dogs and horses wearing a mucky old hay covered fleece.
So much vacuous twittering on there it does my head in.

MsAdoraBelleDearheartVonLipwig · 15/02/2023 00:17

I’d say the Facebook page is a bit of a mix actually. Yes you get the people posing in over the top capes etc and dressing up for the races, but you also get the curvy ladies and the scruff bags fresh from the stables determined to wear their boots. 😄

I’ve got a lovely pair of their leather Regina’s which I do wear a lot and now they’re worn in they’re a bit easier to get on and off. And one of their little handbags which I love.

I don’t get the cult aspect though, I really don’t. For a brand that clearly markets itself as an aspirational lifestyle choice, the Facebook page does seem to be full of very ordinary people obsessing over it like it’s the latest celebrity. I find it all bit chavvy to be honest and it puts me off a bit.

YouOKHun · 15/02/2023 00:44

Pisspoor quality. Pisspoor customer service.

MyrtIe · 15/02/2023 08:58

It all looks like it's arrived in a time machine from 2007.

Howdya · 15/02/2023 09:01

I've made stuff for them - they are a lovely company to deal with. They pay fairly and quickly and are friendly!

Howdya · 15/02/2023 09:01

YouOKHun · 15/02/2023 00:44

Pisspoor quality. Pisspoor customer service.

It isn't poor quality at all.

Justonedayatatime11 · 15/02/2023 09:16

I can't complain about their customer service, it's always been great.
I think they've moved away from what they do well (Reginas) and diversified too much. For the money they charge there are far better similar items out there

Salacia · 15/02/2023 09:35

I’m ambivalent on the actual product - some of the boots look nice but I’m not sure they look worth the price/aren’t really my style. That said I’m obsessed by their facebook page. Countryside Stepford chic. The outfits, the horses, the puppies, the only diversity being the occasional brunette. It’s like Jilly Cooper but without the sex.

TangledWebOfDeception · 15/02/2023 09:52

@Salacia I'd rather have the JC then!! Wink

I'd quite like a pair of Boudicas, and for a while there I considered getting a bag too.

But as soon as brands take on that OTT, obsessive, cult-like following with people mindlessly buying item upon item upon item, seemingly just for the benefit of the grid, I do start to find it all a bit tasteless. I wouldn't want to be immediately identified as being of a certain 'tribe' as it were.
