Beauty Advent Calendars *spoiler alert - contents discussed within thread*

Is it too soon for a thread on these? I remember last year they were all coming out or going on sale in September so not too far off.

I got the spacenk one last year and it was first ever beauty advent calendar and I loved it. Still using some of the products and have gone to purchase at least five items in full size, two of them multiple times.

This year I'll get the spacenk one again but might also go for the cult beauty as well.

Oh and the year before I got Lumene again from LF and with various discounts and a few other bits purchased on top again I got a great multi brand GWP.

I wonder if stores will be less generous this year

I refuse to buy anything containing a gua sha this year. This is the third year running for NAP!

Selfridges also a no. Too many products that I already have, plus Olaplex 😴. And what happened to the nice box they had last year?

Very disappointed with NAP last years was definitely more luxurious
I am keeping everything crossed for John Lewis. Otherwise I think it may be M&S which I am not particularly excited about but usually offers good value (and I like their box this year.)
Everything else just seems so samey and uninspiring
I may have another look at Cult Beauty and Liberty which I had previously rejected Funny how ones you have rejected suddenly become contenders when compared with even worse options

I agree with you @Adventadventures and am also hoping JL comes up trumps - I bought that last minute last year and it really was excellent. I've never had M&S before but am tempted. The others are not tempting me right now.

Same @Housewife2010. I'd be pretty chuffed to get the amazing Surratt ones in an advent tbh (saying that, not overly convinced by NAP calendar overall...but if it ends up half price again...)

I think the Selfridges one looks alright actually - five different perfumes, and a few different/more interesting brands to the others. I got a sample of that Westman Atelier highlight and it's amazing. And that Pat McGrath blush looks gorgeous.

There's good and rubbish things in all the calendars...if only we were able to pick and mix from them all to make the dream calendar.

I have bought DD the Elle advent calendar for the last three(?) years, but want to change. I thought that the Selfridges one might be a nice change, and seems good for someone in their 20's. Spoiling her - she needs cheering up! Any thoughts from those younger than me?

@ajandjjmum I think she'd love it. there's a nice mix of make-up, perfume and skincare (some calendars are v.skincare heavy) - and some younger brands in there too. Lucky daughter!

Really? I had no idea that people still used these! I had a pair when I was about 13. Maybe they've advanced a bit since then! 😂

I would be delighted if my mum bought me Selfridges calendar!

I thought the elle one was really good this year. Either would be delightful.

Just feel like a change from Elle would be good - and it has leapt up in price this year, from memory.

First impressions - NAP is very poor this year. Selfridges is easily winning for me so far, although it's the same palette as last year's JL calendar so I already have it. But I do really like it. Funny how we're all different, and different things appeal.

What are we still waiting for? Harrods and JL, anything else?

Last years Feel Unique is still available! It went down quite a lot in the sale for a while, but seems to have gone back up again now. They couldn't shift it even at the sale price!

I dread to think how much Harrods will cost this year given the price rises.

Yeah, I wouldn't have been particularly pleased if I'd received the feel unique one. I remember it now you mention.

I wonder why the body shop ones didn't shift last year either. Perhaps a refusal to discount.

The Selfridges AC looks great, but the products I get most excited about are perfumes and palettes and I already have the ones in there. I really wish there was a different Le Labo scent and CT palette. I've always wanted the candle so am impressed it's in there. Escentric Molecules seems to be in most advent calendars this year.

I noticed that I was almost tempted at the sale price as it went down looooads but its right back up now!

I wonder whether they're planning to try to palm it off as the 2022 calendar 😂
