I really love the blue fair isle and the embroidered yoke sweater. It's inspired me to embroider my own fisherman's sweater in a similar way but with colours more to my palette and of course fewer £. The embroidery pattern looks quite straightforward. So when I'm back from hols that will be my autumn project. Last time I knitted a jerkin just like the grey one they had in stock.

ElizabethBennetismybestfriend · 01/09/2022 13:14

Love the navy Fracap boots but that is it for me. Glad I splurged in the sale and bought some lovely jumpers. Probably going to need them.

ScottishMouse · 01/09/2022 13:31

Have just had a good look at the new stuff online, and nothing is really jumping out at me. A few things I like the style but not the colours they come in, still a bit of a brown feel to it. I like the ribbed cardigan, but not the price. And I like the cotton cashmere dress, but I really don’t wear dresses except in the height of summer, so that would be a bad purchase. The blankets however….maybe I need those to keep me warm rather than a cardigan!

faustina · 01/09/2022 15:40

@Countmeout I've ordered two sizes of the gabis to save any hassle - nothing more annoying than Toast dodgy sizing!

faustina · 01/09/2022 15:42

I love that fuzzy tunic, but can't justify buying it as I already have unworn jumpers from last season. It's also too expensive

Snowyowl78 · 01/09/2022 16:40

@Countmeout my gabis didn’t arrive today so can’t advise on the new ones but I have the brown slate ones from before in a 12 and they are the same sizing as all my other cotton gabis. I would say they are an IRL 14.

Snowyowl78 · 01/09/2022 17:20

Think there is more stuff today? I like the Peaks Print Easy Dress

Snowyowl78 · 01/09/2022 17:32

Oh dear, I like this one too
www.toa.st/collections/womens-dresses/products/gathered-turrell-check-dress-navy-teal

I think the shape \ style is a bit reminiscent of this one which I bought and rejected due to the colour not suited to my skin tone, now the check one however…!

I too like the Peaks print easy dress. I think it has just appeared. Lovely print and colours.

neveradullmoment99 · 01/09/2022 18:15

The price for the boxy wool cashmere cardigan is utterly outrageous. It is now £215 for something that has been on their website for years. [ At least 2]
I think it was originaly £165.00

I guess though that just because it’s part of a core product line, it doesn’t mean that they’ve had it kicking around their warehouse for that time? They claim to do relatively small runs, and I suppose increasing prices might just be a reflection of that? Not defending their pricing, I just increasingly think that to provide a living wage across the entire supply chain (and I hope they do!) means that stuff costs more.

Countmeout · 01/09/2022 19:05

@Saurus72 @Laska2Meryls , my school uniform was navy and grey but a school nearby had brown (and a duck egg blue shirt) and I always wanted to have one like it so I may weaken.

@faustina , @Snowyowl78 , thank you. In the end I took the plunge ordering just one pair in my usual Gabi size. At least postage is free. I also ordered the olive neat ‘cashmere’ sweater although the cashmere is minuscule in it. I love my Mira sweater but it seeems to have been discontinued. I spotted a similar colour in a M and S cashmere crew neck one but have brought it home to go straight back as it’s just all wrong in shape.

I love the look of the sheep sweater www.toa.st/collections/womens-knitwear/products/bluefaced-leicester-wool-sweater-mist-1 but rather expensive for me.

I think www.toa.st/collections/womens-dresses/products/check-wool-cotton-dress-olive
looks like the perfect pull on and go dress and I love the colour but it looks masssive (and I don’t need a dress)

neveradullmoment99 · 01/09/2022 19:48

Just watched the styling video. Apart from the denim pinafore, nothing really drew me. I did like the chocolate fairisle jumper with denim zig zag but was that not from last season?

Having said earlier that nothing was jumping out at me, I like two of the things that have popped up this evening - the wool cotton jersey skirt, and the gathered sleeve wool cotton top. I love the shape of the top, though I would need to see both colours in person as I’m not sure that either is for me.

Laska2Meryls · 01/09/2022 19:58

I love the shape of the easy dresses, they have had them for several seasons now.. ( but again price is up this AW) but have not bought any because they don't really fit in with my life ..
The Peaks print is lovely

Stoic123 · 01/09/2022 19:59

Not a huge amount appeals but I might give the following a try - A line cord skirt in Conker, Dark Pear Gabis and the Check Cotton Cashmere dress (if similar material as earlier cotton cashmere dress - I find the material a joy to wear). Also still mulling over some trousers from the last drop and the Fluid twill dress which came back into stock. Will try and limit myself to two items max (which must love!) as I really don't need anything.

I also like a new pair of Toast socks each season and it's the navy wool jaquard for me this time (doesn't count towards the two 😀).

faustina · 01/09/2022 20:05

@ScottishMouse - those wool cotton pieces are quite nice - but dry clean only!!!

ScottishMouse · 01/09/2022 20:22

Oh, I didn’t notice that @faustina. Think that would be ok for the skirt as it would not need cleaning that often, but not for the top.

Gonegrey31 · 01/09/2022 20:33

I’ve also ordered the dark pear Gabis. I bought them in a stone colour (? Concrete?) last winter but did not keep them because the colour was not right for me . Looking forward to receiving them !

dudsville · 01/09/2022 20:44

@Noeggsontoast , have you done embroidery before? I've been interested in what today have produced conceptually but the shadows and colours of the items haven't suited me so i have been googling how to do this. Would love to hear about or see your work!

Snowyowl78 · 01/09/2022 20:47

@Laska2Meryls me too I have 2 other easy dresses, have to say I haven’t worn them much, need to get back into dresses. They are the only toast dress that really suits me.

@Stoic123 how do you wash those socks? I washed a pair of wool ones and ruined them sadly

Stoic123 · 01/09/2022 21:04

@Snowyowl78 - handwash usually and done on a delicate cycle before. Stretched into place while damp. If they go near a tumble dryer (happened once by accident), they become perfect for a two year old.

Snowyowl78 · 01/09/2022 22:08

@Stoic123 i thought I’d washed mine on a delicate cycle but now they’re all stiff and tight, might try a hand wash and re-stretch, thanks!

happysoju · 01/09/2022 23:32

Welp, too much muddy browns in the new collection. Not coveting a single thing, thankfully! Fingers crossed the couple of things I have saved from the summer drop will go on sale soon...

JustforToast · 02/09/2022 08:31

I think this shirt might be a winner, although so expensive

www.toa.st/products/cotton-linen-workwear-shirt-rich-olive

Love the peaks print easy dress too
