NowWhatUsernameShallIHave · 26/03/2022 02:59

I’m considering lip filler but nothing too drastic just a small amount

What should I be looking for and how much is it

I’m out of my depth

I did lip refresh recently at a clinic with a very a famous dr , you really get what you pay for, it’s very subtle just a hint of fullness.

Parfait · 30/03/2022 08:31

It does always seem to move in the end. And on older faces, they can become too heavy and droop forwards and downwards. So hideous.

NeedleNoodle3 · 30/03/2022 09:04

The tiny bit I have in my lips has never moved. It just fades away and a year later I end up with the thin lips I started with.
I visit a dermatologist who works at private hospitals and clinics and always has a huge waiting list. He won’t do ‘big’ lips.

queenofarles · 30/03/2022 09:50

Done right lip enhancing can look great, but it’s really not something you do at spas.
Now days they use ultrasound for better application, different techniques for injecting.
The place I go to , i hardly see big swollen lips with obvious shelf nor chipmunk cheeks or alien like sharp jaws, I see beautiful women with good natural looking results.

privsncychsrge · 30/03/2022 10:58

The chipmunk cheeks are the worst, in my opinion, and most obvious thing I notice where fillers are concerned. A little scaffolding in the cheek cheekbone area can probably be helpful, but I think many have been overfilled.

privsncychsrge · 30/03/2022 11:12

Lots of possible reasons for migration in lip filler. Wrong type of filler used (they use different type of filler for the lips, compared to the face, where I have mine done). Too much filler, or too much all at once, wrong injecting technique for lips used, etc etc

LadyEloise1 · 30/03/2022 11:19

@theyoungishman
I agree re that Instagram woman.
The doctor's face was very obviously "done".

Foxglovesandlilacs86 · 30/03/2022 11:41

I've seen places that do them and they look lovely, no shelf above the top lip. I think you need to find a medical professional who specialises in aesthetics, and from what I've seen the best ones use a cannula. Stay away from beauticians and people who do it at home.

I've not had any fillers yet! But am obsessed with looking at all the different clinics on Instagram. I'd like to get a full face rejuvenation (tear trough, nose to mouth and balancing around the lips) but just haven't got the time at the moment.

Foxglovesandlilacs86 · 30/03/2022 11:43

Oh also if you get it done by someone medically trained like a nurse, they can give you pain relief so you feel nothing.

privsncychsrge · 30/03/2022 12:01

Has anyone found that their lips are more red since having fillers? It's one nice side effect I've noticed. I always did have quite red lips, but slightly less so as I've grown older. Also the change in appearance in volume fullness; first thing in the morning, after drinking lots of water etc

Might be of interest to the OP anyway.

Foxglovesandlilacs86 · 30/03/2022 15:54

This is a place I follow on Instagram and I think it looks nice and natural.

Yes overfilled lips are totally uncool. Re-plumped lips are not an issue of cool. They just make one look fresher. Thin mean lips have never been cool btw

Just get someone to punch you in the gob every week. Same effect.

UsernameInTheTown · 22/04/2022 21:40

OP Ignore all the ill informed on here. Go for Russian lips, they look really natural. 1ml is good to start, this is then built on if you require more at a later date. Swelling can be extreme for a day or two, so schedule for a time when you can hide out at home if need be! I pay £120 and get 1ml 3x yearly as it breaks down especially if you do strenuous exercise.
Although it is numbed, it hurts like he'll, so take strong painkillers before and an antihistamine after for swelling. If you are North West I can recommended an excellent practitioner, who is a prescribing nurse.

Jellybean27 · 23/04/2022 23:24

You could always go for a lip flip instead of filler. I’ve seen some really nice results.

Otherwise, agree with PP. 1ml russian.

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 24/04/2022 13:02

Russian Lips are THE most obvious.

luciatrope · 24/04/2022 13:10

Men don't think about doing this to themselves. Why are you?

JanePrentiss · 24/04/2022 15:51

Wtf!??

Do you realise how thick you sound coming out with that high school sounding shit? Lips are not a fashion accessory, they're a body part, they're not there to look 'cool' 🙄ffs

VeganGordie · 07/07/2022 14:09

I would suggest going somewhere that only employs people with a medical background like Dr Hennessy if your worried and feel out of your depth, it will put your mind at ease knowing that your getting it done by someone who is 100% fully qualified. You can book a consolation, I'm sure they'd be happy to help and answer answer any questions :)

Buythebag40 · 07/07/2022 14:42

I have naturally full lips and have been asked several times in the last year or so if I have fillers! It really annoys me - I hate the thought of people assuming I've had lip fillers!

I believe if you really want something you should do it but lips are something that are usually very obvious so I would err with caution OP - yesterday dh and I had lunch and the young waitress had obviously had lip fillers/Botox that were actually quite subtle, or so I thought - as soon as we got out of the restaurant dh exclaimed "oh my god, did you see that young girls face? What the hell had she done??"! Coming from a man who would usually need a bomb up his arse to notice even if I'd had my hair shaved off I thought it was quite amusing!

zingtastic · 07/07/2022 15:04

What do people think of these two results? I haven’t done mine but really want to and found this clinic. The photos are from the clinic’s Instagram page. My lips are a similar shape and size to the befores and the afters are exactly what I want to achieve.

WTF.

Thin lips aren't mean. You sound like a spiteful teenager.
